Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Yuna stood in the Nimbus Delactatio, leaning up against a tree. The Anbu Sennin was in her regular, non Anbu attire so as to make people assume that she is just another Shinobi rather than an Anbu, much less their Sennin.

With things finally calming down for Yuna to have more time on her hands, she can't help but try to find ways to keep busy even on her days off. She had decided today that she would help out around the Academy. It was there that she heard a name, Kaguya Chika, whom may be struggling to come to terms with her own power.

The Kaguya bloodline is just as ferocious as the Chigokai, so Yuna can relate. Though she never had any issues, her father did. She guessed since there was nobody around to help him, he had to figure things out by himself. No doubt that this girl probably might be in the same boat. So Yuna had made a note, for the young academy student to meet her at the entrance of Nimbus Delactatio. That way, she can see what Chika can do without having to worry about the safety of others.

Kaguya Chika,
Meet me at the entrance of Nimbus Delactatio to help you home your inmate skills of the Kaguya bloodline.

Chigokai Yuna

With the note filled with a small amount of chakra to find its way to its recipient, Yuna wondered if the girl knows anything about the Chigokai bloodline. Yuna herself knows that there is a whole clan here in Cloud, but she hasn't really bothered to even attempt to join the clan. Not that there is bad blood between them. She just doesn't see a reason to.

She would breathe in and sigh as the light breeze of the wind moves her hair slightly into her face.

That light breeze continues to flow through the rest of the Nimbus Delectatio and past Chika as she fusses over her academy outift--garb consisting of clothes more befitting of an office worker rather than an aspiring shinobi. Once she was satisfied with her own appearance, the young Kaguya girl reached in her satchel for the note that someone named Chigoaki Yuna had addressed to her and read it once again. Despite being inexperienced with both her own kekkai genkai and that of the Chigokai clan, she was intrigued by the potential to empower herself through this mysterious woman's training.

"I wonder if I will be able to awaken these abilities finally~" she daydreamed as she approached the Sennin.

"H-hi!" she greeted her potential mentor with a nervous bow. As she rose, her eyes wandered to Yuna's violet hair--a shade not unlike Chika's own highlights. "I really like your hair, Chigokai-senpai."

She then shook her head and bowed profusely. "I'm so sorry! My name is Kaguya Chika, and I received your note this morning."

Yuna smiled softly at the young girl as she sized her up, something that Yuna has done always to never be caught off guard in case of anything goes sideways. "Thank you. And please, just call me Yuna." It was a rare thing that she has ever been complimented about her hair. As unnatural as it is, she was born this way. Some say that fate had a sense of humor, being that her father had blue hair, and her mother with red. Her mind focused back on Chika as she explained that she was here because she had received the note from her this morning.

Yuna would nod. "The reason I had called you out here is to help you hone your own bloodline." She would pause before going on, "Both the Kaguya and the Chigokai bloodlines are often rare, and because of that, many people fear the powers that we possess. One that uses the power to control blood, the other, bone manipulation. Both are powerful and devastating in their own rights. Seeming as there isn't a surplus of folks like us around, I hope you don't mind I take you under my wing for you to help you understand your powers a little bit more."

Again, Yuna would pause, giving the girl time to think this through before she continued on, "The makings of a great ninja doesn't immediately start off with how strong or powerful you are, but it depends solely on your knowledge about yourself and your powers. Once you learn to maximize your own potential, you open infinite amount of doors, only limited by your own creativity. But before we go too deep down the rabbit hole, lemme ask you about the basics of your own bloodline. One of the first abilities that a Kaguya learns is to be able to form a protective armor around themselves for battle known as Ultimate Bone Defense. Have you learned about this technique?"

"Okay, Yuna-senpai!" Chika eagerly exclaimed as she clasped her hands before her and heeded her mentor's every word. Although she didn't consider her family's own kekkai genkai rare at all--after all her mother and grandmother could both manipulate the osteoblasts and osteoclasts within their skeletal structure--it still worried her that there might be a nonzero chance that the Kaguya bloodline would never awaken within her. She fidgeted, her dread evident in her schoolgirl mannerisms; yet she was still hopeful that maybe--just maybe--she would live up to the reputation of her great-great-grandmother and become a powerful asset to the village by mastering her now-latent abilities.

As she continues to listen, she found herself nodding along when Yuna as she mentioned how power and strength weren't necessarily deciding factors in a shinobi's career, but knowledge and expertise of one's own capabilities. And, in a bittersweet sense of irony, Chika knew for certain that she had to even grasp the most fundamental of Kaguya techniques.

"Uh . . . " she considered stalling for time before ultimately sighing and gazing at her feet in shame. "I'm sorry Yuna-senpai; even though I have seen my mother use both the Ultimate Bone Defense and Rapid Healing techniques when she cooks us dinner, I still have no idea how to unlock that potential myself. Do you think you can teach me?"

The bespectacled girl in her formal academy attire looked up eagerly to the Anbu sennin, a glimmer of hope evident in her eyes that maybe she might learn how to be a real Kaguya from a Chigokai.

Yuna would nod at listening to the girl speak. "There is nothing to be sorry about, you are just starting your own journey as a kunoichi, after all." She would pause before going on, "There are ways for people to unlock the potential of their bloodline. The first way is through a traumatic experience. Such is the thing that kicks the person's body into overdrive with the only thought of one thing on mind. Survival. It may come when you need it most. However, there is another way. And that is training." She had brought out a Shinai, a bamboo sword.

"When it comes to one's own innate abilities, they act passively at times. For the Chigokai, we can hear blood flows and be able to tell where living organisms are. For the Kaguya, they are able to form a protective armor of bones around them. It is often said that a Kaguya's bones durability is rivaled by hard plated steel. Something that should easily make a bamboo sword glance off. For today, I will go slow so you can learn the basics of the Kaguya's first ability." She shifted her stance, putting the shinai into her left hand. Doing so overall would help the younger girl out, since Yuna is right handed over left. The shinai felt a little off in her hand, but the Sennin wouldn't show it, in fact, besides that, her stance for sword fighting is a tight stance that allows little to no openings. "To be able to conjure forth your own armor of bones, it must be at a thoughts notice. You have to train your body to make it as easy as breathing. Once you are ready, we will begin."

Once the girl was ready, Yuna would not put a whole lot of power or speed into her attack, knowing full well if the girl fails at producing the ultimate bone defense, that she would get hit. So Yuna is planning on stopping her attacks entirely if such a thing were to happen. She smiled softly, "Don't worry, we'll go slow with this at first."

Chika nods as she listened to Yuna's ultimatum when it came to unlocking the abilities of her kekkai genkai. "I . . . I honestly think I prefer the training option, Yuna-senpai," she confessed as she assumed a rudimentary toshudo stance--an unarmed form that her father began training her in to help her maximize her fighting potential with any weapon.

"How's this?" she asked as she looked up to her Chigokai instructor. "Wait, you mentioned it should feel as natural as breathing, right?" She then closed her eyes and began to compose herself, realizing just how anxious she was about this exercise. After several deep breaths, however, she felt more connected to her own state of being and nods towards her mentor. "I am ready, senpai!"

The first few attacks were stopped short as the Kaguya's bones merely swelled in density without providing ample protection from a bladed weapon. "Sorry!" she apologized, "I can feel the bones within my body getting thicker, but I'm having trouble getting it outside of my body." She paused before stretching her own arms before, taking a deep breath, and focusing on the thickness she could sense and mentally projecting that energy towards her skin.

Within a matter of seconds, an array of bone scutes erupted from her skin, forming a rigid, bumpy armor across her forearms. An wide, excited smile crossed her features as she returned her attention to Yuna. "Something like that?" she asked expectantly. "I think I can try blocking a few more attacks, Yuna-senpai, if that is okay with you?"

Yuna would expertly stop the Shinai from hitting the younger girl as she would see that the bones would not come out by the time the bamboo sword would reach Chika. It would be then, afterwards, that the young academy student would be able to produce bones that would come out of her body and form an armor around her body.

She would nod at the student's comment about asking for her confirmation along with her being ready for Yuna to attack her, ready to actually start blocking attacks. Yuna nodded. Of course, she would still be cautious, not to swing too hard, her own ninja training and experiences made her deadly in her own rights to brave the Country of Water by herself and be selected to eliminate a world criminal, though she was unable to due to political complications. Back to the training, she would kick it up a notch, going from not even hitting the girl with the Shinai, going up to bonk status, not enough to hurt, but enough to let the girl know that she was hit. This is to help the girl be able to maintain her ultimate bone defense. Her being inexperienced this is to only get her foot into the door of her own bloodline.

After a while, Yuna would speak up once more. "Chika, you are doing good. But you will need to remember, all of this." She opened her arms and looked around and back at her, "We have a gift that is rare. Because of that, even I cannot teach you everything there is about your own bloodline. Because of that, you must always strive to get better. Both in body, and in mind. I've only started your training, but you yourself now have to make sure that do the upkeep to continue to strive forward."

As Yuna shifted from barely hitting her with glancing blows to gently bonking her with softened hits, Chika's confidence in her own natural abilities grew--perhaps too much so as the last hit landed squarely on her unprotected noggin.

"Ow ow ow~" she moaned as she tenderly massaged the bruise on her head before chuckling nervously. "I guess I got too ahead of myself there, huh?"

Once they were finished, she listened to Yuna's words of wisdom, her eyes wide with awe and anticipation for her own future. If she could do something as amazing as forming armor from her own bones right now, she could only imagine what she would capable of once she reached her full potential. Maybe she could create weapons just like her father? The idea excited her so much that she started to squirm in place, at least before she realized what she was doing and looked away, her cheeks flushed red from embarrassment.

Yuna was finished, and, with a wide smile across her face, the Kaguya girl bowed deeply before her Chigokai tutor. "Thank you so much, Yuna-senpai!" she eagerly told her as she rose. "Without you, I don't know if I would have ever been able to take the first steps towards achieving my potential." She then looked down at the ground and shuffles her feet while holding her hands behind her back. Then she looks up into Yuna's eyes.

"But . . . even if I need to train on my own, would it be okay if I train with you again some other time?"
