Chilamatsu Shin's Office - Primus Tower Top Floor
The office of the 12th Kazekage occupies the entirity of the seventh floor of the Primus Tower, rising through the heart of Sunagakure's domed mobile fortress. Synthetic light floods the space through floor-to-ceiling windows, created by the dome's chakra-infused carmot overhead.
General Space:
The office reflects the Chikamatsu philosophy: balance between nature and precision, compassion and exacting standards. The aesthetic is warm but purposeful. It's a place where life-and-death decisions are made with the same care given to arranging flowers.
A large wooden desk dominates the central area, crafted from rich, warm wood likely grown and shaped through Wood Release techniques. Its surface maintains organized efficiency: neat stacks of documents, reports from the Arboretum, pharmaceutical research notes, and sealed scrolls bearing the Kazekage's azure wax seal. The furniture features clean lines with subtle floral motifs carved into arms of chairs and desk corners.
The Eastern Wall - Botanical Collection:
Carefully maintained shelves and hanging planters house impossibly vibrant vegetation:
- Yurei Orchids: sacred white and grey blooms with six petals, cuttings from the plant the Chikamatsu have protected for generations
- Various desert succulents requiring minimal water but thriving under dedicated photon-infused carmot lighting
- An aged bonsai tree with twisted trunk, its branches carefully wired and trained
- Potted cacti and hardy desert plants along the windowsills which often bloom into fuschias and golds
The Sitting Area:
A low table with cushioned seating creates a more intimate space for conversations. Depending on the meeting's nature, this area might hold:
- Tea service, including two ceramic kettles on a heating element. Often times one for green tea, and another for herbal blends
- Refreshments obtained from local dagashiya, wagashi-ya, and kanmidokoro for guests
- A simple decanter of water and glasses for professional meetings
- Mission dossiers and briefing materials
Additional Features:
- Built-in bookshelves filled with medical texts and botanical journals, their spines showing wear from frequent consultation
- A small brazier in the corner for heating or ceremonial purposes
- Lanterns around the room that can be lit with controlled flame, warm, flickering light rather than harsh carmot brightness
- Scroll cases aligned precisely on shelving
- A watering can and pruning tools stored beneath the planter stand
- A small basin for washing hands
The View:
Panoramic windows offer breathtaking views of the dome's interior: the Arboretum's greenhouse structures below, the carefully cultivated ecosystem, and the gentle curve of the crystal dome overhead.
