Sato was scared. More scared than he'd been in a while -- and that was saying something. This wasn't life threatening. Just life changing. It was possibly his more important day as a ninja. Of his life. This was going to be the day he met his family.
Practically since the moment he'd left the Uchiha estate last time he'd been doing research on the name Hyuuga. He had quite a lot to go off of though it wasn't all pleasant. Apparently there'd been quite a bit of trouble some years ago and as it turned out there wasn't too many who carried Hyuuga blood anymore. There'd been some kind of trouble and those who hadn't died just fled. Apparently like his father had. He didn't know what that meant for him. There hadn't been anything sinister about the message to be meeting the clan head. Then again maybe he'd just missed it.
He tried to keep his head down, passing some of the Uchiha clansmen as he walked. Apparently, thanks to their lack of numbers and some damage, the Hyuuga's own home wasn't inhabited. The Uchiha had taken in the man he was about to meet. All he could hope for was that he was a good person. Sato had been so excited to learn that he had such a special ability when he'd first learned about it but the weight of realizing he had an entirely new family was frightening. As is seemed to a lot these days he thought of Asuka. She was so ahead of him... was she just gifted for her age or was he behind? How would that be seen by the clan head? He'd felt a lot stronger since obtaining the byakugan but now the weight of it and what it might make people expect of him was becoming overwhelming.
He hesitated to even touch the door once he arrived where he was suppose to and was so scared he dared to activate his dojutsu for just a moment. He felt the chakra pool towards his eyes and the veins press against his skin as it manifested. The surge of information to his senses was still a bit overwhelming. His view expanded to cover most of the hallway and beyond as he gained vision through every solid object in a several yard radius -- at a nearly 360 angle! It was like having eyes on the sides and back of his head. Much to his surprise and comfort the room directly in front of him was empty.
Quickly his byakugan faded, his eyes going from lavender to green rapidly as he pulled over the door and stepped inside. It wasn't much, probably made for meetings like this -- two cushions and a table between them. He sat down on what looked to be the smaller one, resting at the read and trying to look serious about this. He wanted to make a good first impression. He had to! Lord Hyuuga would see that he could become a splendid ninja for the clan!
