She was slightly nervous, given the one death that had occurred being directly her fault. She was well within her right to defend herself given the actually weapons that had been drawn on them, but even still it was one too many. While the report had ruled it self defense, there was also the argument of how it went down and how she had acted during it. She most likely did not need to kill him, but she couldn't have helped it if she had tried. Something in that moment said it needed to be done, and she acted on that instinct. Either way, that wasn't for her to decide if it was justified. The job was finished and the man was dead, but at least the rest of that gang was terrified enough by the events that if they hadn't gotten arrested, she was sure they'd be laying low for some time.
She leaned against a wall and lit a smoke, this had been a long day and now a long night. She was feeling it, the effects of all that had occurred. Her stomach still sore from the stab wound she had gained during the fight, though it was mostly healed by mednin at this point. But the colder and harsher reality was she had never killed someone before, and she just had done it with no remorse or guilt. She felt like she would be feeling guilty or ashamed, but in reality it felt oddly fine. In the moment she even found that she was enjoying it, but that was something she needed to push down. That was something she knew that she should be ashamed of, but she just couldn't help but feel the rush from it all.
This wasn't something she had ever felt before, so why was it the case. She pushed it down taking another long drag off her smoke and looked toward the gate. She'd give it some thought when she had time, but right now she needed to focus on what was ahead. She'd finished what was asked and even gotten more of those thugs arrested than originally thought. So, all and all, she felt she had done everything she could right. Besides, people didn't need Anbu for things that were clean right? They needed them to go where things got dirty and make it so that they never get that way again. Maybe she'd do well in this life after all.
