Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It was on his mind, it was in his heart, it reached down to his very soul. He liked Kumogakure, the people seemed nice, the food was decent. But the whole thing just didn't feel right. There was something missing, a sense of home. A sense of belonging. He had even been given the position of Gate captain. Not something he was aiming to get but he accepted it, even for the fact that he hated it. But that wasn't the reason why he came to speak to the Raikage. No he came to speak of being free. He had no ill will or any ill intentions to be had towards Kumogakure. He thought the place as a whole was decent. Sure their gate policy was a little unorthodox, but overall it wasn't a bad place at all.

And so Kane decided it was time. He had been here for about eight months and he figured it would be better if he wasn't here. He didn't know how today's events would go down honestly. There was just too many things to be calculated to truly know. No one would be able to predict today. And so he gave a knock on the Raikage's door. The meeting was scheduled for today at eleven o'clock am on the dot. It was not ten forty-four am, sixteen minutes earlier than his appointment. He hoped he wasn't being rude for being early. He wore a simple white get up. White ironed pants with a white tee-shirt underneath a white coat with silver fur around the neckline. His sword was strapped to his belt on the left, ready for his right hand and his senbon were in a projectile holster on the right. He knew that he wouldn't need them but he was told to always be prepared. That is one this his late idiotic father did tell him that was useful.

He stood there in anticipation of the words to come in. He hadn't been in this office in a while now. Not sense the day he first came to the village and was brought here by Ushiromayu Kein.

"You can come in." Shin said as voice sounded muffled behind the door. As the man walked into Shin's office he would see the raikage sitting pensively behind his desk examining a large parchment. The room was dimly lit with the only light coming from a candle on Shin's light.

Shin removed his glasses revealing his dark gray eyes in light. He held his toward an empty seat in front of him. "Please take a seat, Kane-san." Shin said.

Once the man took his seat Shin wasted no time in asking what he needed. "How can I help you?" Shin asked.

Kane heard the muffled sound of entrance being granted to him as he opened the door. The office hadn't changed much, except that it was very dimly lit, only by a candle. Kane bowed slightly in formalities and then sat down in the chair across from the Raikage as instructed. There was no time being wasted and as such, there was no point in wasting this man's life by idle chit chat either. Too many issues were among the village and all of them rested on the Kage's shoulders for it to be fixed.

He sat up straight and looked into the eyes of the Kage of Kumogakure and said to him in a polite tone "I'd like to request to be let go of the Kumogakure lands. A mercenary of sorts but without bearing the village of Kumogakure's name. I do not wish it harm nor do i have any ill intent towards the village. I know I came here on my own free will initially. I want to apologize in advance as I'm sure a request like this comes at a very ill time for Kumogakure. I mean the village no harm... but I just do not belong here. I'm not sure i belong anywhere to be honest. But that doesn't mean anything negative towards the village. Both ANBU and Main branch Sennins' have been very helpful in my transition here. It just isn't easy making a new place your home after seeing the things I saw in my old home. I don't expect you to understand, but II am hoping for your blessing in this manner. I do not wish to be a rogue shinobi where to be hunted down. I don't want to commit a crime to get this freedom. I may come back one day and ask to rejoin the ranks of Kumogakure... but I cannot guarantee that." He finished speaking as he took his Kumogakure headband that was given to him by the very man standing before him and placed it on the desk in between them but out of the way of any papers or documents the Raikage might have on his desk besides the large parchment he was originally reading.

Kane sat there and waited for a response. This would be one of the most important conversations Kane would have in his whole entire life.

Shin sighed as he glanced at the silver protector band that shined against the dim yellow light. "You could at least give me the courtesy to try understand what you are going through." Shin said as his eyes remained fixed on the young man studying to see what was actually going on in his mind. It was not befitting for a shinobi who has recently been reinstated into the village and then vigorously seeking retirement in a year. There was enough trouble with shinobi and kunochi alike seeking to cause trouble in the village from the deranged woman from leaf to the demonic Akkuma and his brother.

Shin paused. "Why do you feel like you do not belong, Kane-san?"

Kane looked down at the yellow glimmer form the candle in the protective headband. Most people, especially born kumogakurians would look at this symbol and pick it back up and wear it proudly. It wasn't that this was a bad place to live. It just wasn't Kane's place to live. He'd been in the village doing as he could, trying to assimilate for roughly a year now. He had met some people along the way and everyone seemed to be accepting of him, regardless of his past of not being from the village, or even from this country. He was like a red marble in a blue marble bag. He was the oddball of the group and he always will be. That could help explain it...

He looked at shin and listened to his question. It was simple, yet deep. The dreaded question, Why?.... Kane sighed slightly and then began his explanation. "I do not belong in a place in which is not mine. Although the place I would be able to call mine is now a blizzard barren wasteland, unfortunately i cannot feel like I will ever be able to call your village my home and I mean that with no disrespect. I'm very gracious to the hospitality and also your willingness to take me into your home and trust me with the people you and your Sennin are sworn to protect. You have my undying gratitude... but I don't want live a life of misery. I will become hateful if I stay here. Not hateful to anyone in general but hateful to myself. I understand the life of a shinobi and its entails. Heck I'm almost thirty years old." He said that last bit with a smile and a chuckle in his voice. Not believing for a second he even made it this far in his life. He turned his attention back to the conversation barely missing a beat. "Let me try explaining this way. Take a bag marbles where every marble in there is black; except one marble. The size is the same, it weighs the same except this marble, is white. Now no matter how many times you roll them out to a table in front of people, they will always notice the white marble because its the one that doesn't belong. If I was a younger shinobi, back in my teens, this conversation wouldn't be happening. I'm very confident of that fact. I hope you can understand Hayata-sama. If you do decide to allow me to leave on good terms I have nothing against being escorted out, I won't take any offense to it and I will understand."

He sat back in his chair in a straight posture. He waited for a response from the Raikage. After all it was him who had the eternal choice of what would happen. He just hoped Hayata would somehow understand his feelings and would let the initial abandoned shinobi become one once again.

The man provided his explanation to the Raikage which revealed himself to be a misplaced man, a person not knowing who he was in the world. It was not certain whether or not this man was being honest with his reasoning; however, it was clear that the man felt that the longer he stayed the more likely he would become a liability which was something Shin had no time for.

Shin slide his dark tinted glasses back to his eyes concealing them as he looked blankly into Kane's eyes. The man was silent as he waited for the raikage to make his final response, but Shin had a few words before making his decision.

"I do understand your predicament." Shin said. "But as an experience shinobi as you are, once you have accepted that banner to any village, you agreed to serve such a village until death or when you decide to depart from life of a shinobi. Your life is no longer your own regardless of your personal desires. If I were to entertain this idea of you leaving, you will have to submit yourself to be purged from knowing anything about the village. In addition, in the event that you pose a threat to the village's security and the village itself I have the right to hunt you down and with that the village should know where you are at all times. Do you agree to these terms?"

Kane simply listened to his words. There was one main flaw with Hayata's thinking. Shin's point of view was one whose been in the same village their whole life. The difference here was, Kane was stripped of his village by nature... not leaving it voluntarily like he is doing now. Shin might understand on a theoretical stand point but the emotions and mental abuse of losing ones village is more great than he could ever hope for Shin to imagine, not only that but watching his own mother and brother dying of disease due to the cold weather. None of these things were something Kane would wish on someone else, but he hoped at least one other person could go through the experience to truly understand what and how he felt.

"I understand your terms but I have a term of my own. I get to remember three people from this village. The ANBU sennin Ayumu, The Main branch sennin Hikari and you, lord Raikage. I am no good to the village if I don't remember its leadership. If I don't remember whom you are, what good would I be if I were to return? Any loyalty to you personally I would have for letting me leave would be for naught. If, while I'm out there, someone was trying to protect this village, what loyalties would I have to write to you or come to you in person. Or if you aren't here, one of the two Sennin I've met to tell them of any news. Suppress my memories of this village's secrets, I agree to that. Erasing my memories of the people of this village, I think to be too far nor would any good come of it in the long run. Who knows, I may want to return one day and if that day comes, I'd like to remember the important people of my life while I was here. The people that helped me and believed in me even as a foreign shinobi." His voice stayed level and calm while explaining this to the Raikage of Kumogakure. He agreed to the terms as they were fair. Shin would hunt him down if anything were to come of Kumogakure because of Kane's actions. All Kane wanted to remember, were the good people of this village. He didn't think that was too much of him to ask, besides the beginning request of course.

(OOC: won't be online again until Sunday. Ill check it periodically.. might be able to get a post up on saturday if you post. I'll definitely be able to post sunday though. Have a good weekend Shin!)

"Very well. Your memories will be suppressed." Shin responded. Shin was pleased to hear that Kane was not contentious with Shin's terms and in some ways Shin felt more reluctant to do this. However, it was protocol and Shin must uphold it. "I appreciate your cooperation, Kane. I do not doubt your loyalty but some may use that against you. I am not just speaking just toward you but to myself as well."

"When you plan on departing the village and have you spoken to Hikari-senpai about your decision." Shin continued,

Kane nodded in acceptance to the terms set forth and with his stipulations added. Kane couldn't say in words how much this meant to him. There was only one thing he could truly say that would cover it. "Thank you Raikage-sama. This means a lot to me. I plan on leaving relatively immediately. I've donated most of the things I've acquired to the academy and most of my money there too. I plan on only taking what is truly needed, the rest I can regain in time. About Hikari... I don't think I should talk to her. I'd like to keep this whole thing quiet. You can tell whomever you deem necessary to tell. I'd rather not have this conversation all over again. If you'd like, you can do the memory suppressing here, or we could move to the gates, do it there and we can be on our ways." He would say it slowly, calmly and politely just as always. His body language stayed polite and calm. As if this whole thing was a normal occasion. The ball was in the Raikage's court. His decision made or break this situation.

"I am pleased that you have done well in given your assets." Shin said as he placed the parchment to the side before rising to his feet. "I will let Hikari-san know about your decision. To be frank, she would not be ecstatic considering how unstable the main branch has become." It was not his intention to place guilt within the jounin but the man needed to know the truth of the matter. There was no profit for Shin to mislead him in anyway. "I will perform the memory suppression once we enter the gates. If you are ready will you follow me."

He lifted his hand toward the door as he waited for his response.

The Emotions of the young, yet for shinobi life, old shinobi were scattered. He was excited yet scared, nervous yet anxious and most of all happy but sad. He didn't know exactly how to feel. His wish had been granted by the Raikage, with stipulations of course. Then again, in the shinobi world, there were always stipulations or special exceptions for certain scenarios. Kane's scenario would fit into there. The Raikage rose from his chair and Kane did the same following his gesture. He listened to Shin's words about Hikari. Maybe he should meet with her, if only for a moment. No... I can't. She would be better off without seeing me. His face showed slight guilt and then back to no emotion at all. "Tell her I wish her the best. I have every ounce of faith that she will not only restore the main branch but also make it even better than it was previously." The Raikage motioned for the door and they would head out towards the gates. A new chapter begins, an old purpose remained intact.
