They said this time it was important. No scrubbing floors, no catching cats nor frogs or toads. She needed to deliver something important.
..or so she was told.
"This is a box." the girl said sarcastically.
"Yes, an important box." the old lady replied.
Satsuki was to deliver this to one of the Embassy's informants that was stationed from the farmlands. She was ordered to make haste because it was an important matter. The girl didn't really understand the nature of "important" missions yet, only that they were needed to be carried out the best she can. The hesitation dissipated from the girl's mind as she focused on the mission. She needed to deliver a box, an important box to a man in the farmlands. She was only given a location to go to. No names, pictures or whatnot. Maybe this WAS an important matter, but the curiosity of the girl was still trying to get the best of her.
"If this was so important, why not give this mission to a Genin or higher?" the girl murmured to herself while running. It would take her hours to reach the farmlands even on carriage, that's why she was trying her best to catch the next right there.
After almost six hours on carriage, the girl arrived in the farmlands. It was well over past lunchtime but hunger wasn't on the girl's mind. She needed to get to the meeting place as fast as she can. Satsuki ran as fast as her little feet would allow her, the meeting place wasn't that far but precision was key to her. And being on time was part of that mindset that she developed.
The girl arrived, catching her breath before scouting the area for the man that needed the parcel. This wasn't wise to be honest, but she hasn't run that hard and that fast in a long time. After a few minutes, footsteps and a deep voice,
"Are you the one they sent to deliver the parcel?" slightly bellowing, the voice.
Satsuki turned and saw a huge man, darkened skin riddled with many scars. This man is a shinobi, the girl thought. She nodded and took out the small box from her person.
"Ah, good. We really needed this on our patrols." said the man.
"Uh, what is it?" the girl asked curiously.
The man turned to the girl, eyeing her for a minute, which made Satsuki feel very uncomfortable.
"You're a student, yes? You'll find out soon enough if you make it out of the Academy." the man replied.
"Oh."
"..but knowing your mother and your uncle, yeah. You'll find out soon enough." the man added, before waving and leaving.
The girl turned wide-eyed from what the man said, he knew her mother? And what uncle? She didn't know she had one.
"Wait, excuse me sir, you know my mothe--" before she could finish he was gone, just like magic. She accomplished her task but a big hole just punched through her with that peculiar statement. The girl wouldn't be able to sleep for a couple days because of it.
