Once again Sashin found himself summoned by his superiors. Just like the previous times, he was dressed in full Anbu gear and attire and alone. His superior, the same man who had set him down this pathway, met him alone once again. Knelt down to one knee, he watched as his captain swiftly approached him with another folded letter meant to give instructions. After everything he had reported, he wondered how the upper ranks would wish to proceed. Right now, he was about to find out. As he reached out towards his superior officer, and took hold of the folded letter, he flipped his wrist and unfolded it. Upon it, the words 'Assassinate Ryu Jakku by any means" were written. Nothing more, nothing less. Shocked, he glanced up to see his superior officer already gone.
"I see. They don't care why, they just want the ring leader dead." Sashin thought, as lighting based chakra crackled in his hand and set the folded piece of paper ablaze. Watching it burn, he waited for the ashes to fade in the wind before heading out. Just like the two previous times he investigated this matter, his arrival and departure from the village's gates were preplanned. Having no trouble leaving, as usual, he headed down the same pathway he had plenty of times before. By now, he knew where to find Toko and roughly about what time Jakku and his men would come to pick up the next shipment.
However, as he thought about it that meant he would have several witnesses. If he carried out the assassination at the loading dock, he'd have Toko, the other three guards, Jakku, and his men all to deal with. While he felt somewhat comfortable doing that, it seemed stupid to him. Why force a one versus eight or nine situation? Right now, his biggest concern was how he was going to reduce that number by as many as he possibly could. As he walked down the main country roads, he had plenty of time to think about all of this. Before long, he came up with a quick solution using things, and skills, he already had. First, he would approach Jakku and his men at the entrance to the pathway from the main road. This way, Toko and his men would be rather far away and eliminated out of the equation all together. Second, he would disperse poisons' power known as lullaby powder into their caravan. If that worked, he'd distract their caravan long enough for it to take effect.
From there, finally, he'd execute Jakku while they slept and get the hell out of there. As several hours passed, he made his way to that small village he had previous visited both times beforehand. Rather than stopping, or walking straight into the village, he walked around the outskirts until he made it to the main roadway he needed to be at. As he continued to walk, he'd glance up towards the sky and make note of where the sun was. The reason he started out his mission today was, because so long as he kept up place, he'd be able to time the arrival of Jakku semi accurately. After a few more hours would pass, right as the sun began to dip below the horizon, he'd find himself at the pathway off the main road, leading to the cave with the loading docks where Toko and his other guards would be.
Here is where he would wait, hidden within the tree's, he'd remain silent with his battle-axe drawn and waiting. Minutes would turn into hours, as he patiently waited. "No doubt Toko's wondering why I haven't shown up this week." Sashin thought, as he watched a Caravan pull onto the pathway. "That's probably them... Now's my chance." He thought, as he sat up from a three branch and jumped down towards the ground. Upon landing, he dug deep into his pockets for an improvised smoke bomb that had been previously filled with lullaby powder. "This should spread the poison quickly." He thought, as he stepped out from the tree lines and threw it full force at the caravan.
Less than a second later, smoke and poison would fill the air inside, and out, or the caravan. Holding his breathe, he watched as the caravan came to a stop and one of the men stumbled out of it, while the others shouted at one and another. The horses dragging the caravan had also seemed to be affected by the poison, as he watched them lean forward and pass out from it. Lifting his battle-axe over his should, he ran towards the front of the caravan. Focused on everything going on, he realized the man who originally stumbled out had already fallen to the ground. "That's one of Jakku's men." He thought, as he recognized him. A few seconds later, another would emerge from the caravan with a weapon drawn and looking at Sashin; but, he too would fall victim to the poison and slowly fall to the ground.
"That's another one of his men." Sashin thought, as he cautiously waited. Movement within the caravan seemed to come to stop, as Sashin waited for another one of them to emerge. After a few seconds, he let out a slight chuckle as he approached the caravan, and side stepped the two who had already fallen asleep. As he got close enough, he pulled back a tarp and glanced inside. There, he was; Jakku and another man laying on the floor of the caravan. Quickly, he stepped into it with his axe held at his side. Taking a moment to verify that it was in fact Jakku, he sighed as he slung his axe into the mans throat at full force. Watching as the mans eyes opened for a split second, Sashin watched the blood pour from his neck before drawing back and striking him again; this time, across the chest. Blood would splatter across the caravan, as Sashin slung his axe once more, deep into the mans skull.
Watching as Jakku laid lifeless, Sashin quickly turned as he heard one of the men coming to. "There's my que." He thought, as he quickly made his escape. Rather than taking the main roadways, Sashin decided to stay in the forest and head home. With the caravan behind him, he wondered how everything would eventually play out. If in the future he needed to come back, he still could; even with leaving witnesses, he acted while dressed in full Anbu attire and gear. Still, his size would be the only thing they could possibly link back to him. Knowing this, he still continued his journey home. As of right now, he had news to report and hopefully some well deserved time off.
