Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

No one would have noticed it had it occurred at day, at least not until it was too late. Fortunately, it was far into the night when it did. The sky that was usually dark and mesmerising with stars, had turned into a beaming shade of red as the flames erupted from the canopy of trees. Kiri easily noticed it from the window in the rented room of that small inn. He had been in town while figuring out how to go about his current predicament. A few things have happened here and there, but never something so abrupt and staggeringly shocking at the forest fire that was underway. So, he rushed from his room and at town, he would see the people gathering. Some where already carrying buckets of water and heading into the forest, while others were trying to calm the children and lead to somewhere safe. At the moment, the fire was still far, but if left alone, it would, no doubt, reach the village and everyone would lose all their houses.

As such, an intervention was necessary, and Kiri was more than willing to help in this. He would not be a passive bystander, thinking that the problem of the people was not his. After all, if he wanted to become a better person, he should start with helping those in need.

First thing to do was to help with relief, seeing how some of the few people who had already been coming to and fro the forest were beginning to show signs of suffocation, Kiri quickly went to their aid. He would administer a quick first aid, putting some good healing jutsu to work on some burns, and then instructing them about what to do. Of course, he had to stop the stubborn ones from continuing when it was obvious they were simply doing it the clueless way and probably rushing to their deaths. And with the approval of the town chief, after he declared that he was a mednin-in-training, those whom he deemed unfit to continue to help stop the fire were taken somewhere else to have first aid administered on them, especially towards getting more air to breath.

When that was over, Kiri decided to help with putting out the fire. As soon as he entered the forest, he followed the trail of the townsfolk and coordinated with the men-in-charge. They were divided into teams in order to stop the flames from fanning across. With the village surrounded by the forest, the last thing was to get trapped inside like an oven. However, as he came closer to them, Kiri could notice that some of the men were beginning to show signs of choking. Again, he would try his best to give support, aid them with medical jutsu, but when he found a couple who were simply not fit enough anymore, he had to force the team leader to send those men back to the village before they collapse and potentially die.

That was not to say that they should give up. Their determination to contain the fire, and end it was there, but they needed more than that. Knowing he was not yet that good in water jutsu, Kiri was a bit hesitant, but he figured that this was the best way to show his progress. When pitted at a corner, one can only show their resolve to survive, so he hoped that his resolve would help the townspeople as well.

He formed some handseals and gathered his chakra along his palm before releasing the energy around him, sending moisture to converge overhead and begin to rain. He gasped at the feat but knew this was just the start. He would next move on to the men near the middle where the fire was strong. Here, he would have to use more force. Once more, he would do some handseals before gathering chakra along his mouth, as if to inhale. And when he blew out, he would seemingly send his chakra among the moisture in the air, forcing them to build up and shoot all around them like a mist, though he would manipulate the nature of the chakra and make the moisture denser so as to aid fighting the fire. With trees wetter, they would not burnt that quickly. And a couple more times, he would make handseals and seemingly blast high-pressure water onto the flames, like some firefighter with a hose.

It wasn’t immediate, but they were slowly killing the fire. Perhaps, it took the entire night, and by the time they had truly called it off, it was already mid-day. Everyone was exhausted, even Kiri was a bit winded from using too much chakra without having to draw power from his beast. Nonetheless, he persevered. But that wasn’t the end of the fight as he would next tend to the burns and the ailments of the firefighters. Ranging from burns, to mild suffocation, to terrible coughs, he was hoping that this incident would not cause everyone in town to suffer physically. But since there was a town doctor, he would only assist in the beginning. And when they were done with the problematic diagnosing phase, he would let the doctor and his assistant take care of the rest.

As for Kiri, he was ready to return to the inn and rest up for the day, possibly get a good cool and refreshing bath before collapsing on his bed, when suddenly, one of the team leaders approached him. Aside from thanking him for his help earlier, they want him to help them further with investigating the cause of the fire. As far as they knew, it wasn’t the season for that, no thunderstorms. While they did not want to think that someone had intentionally done it, they would still have to investigate the matter, and for that, they asked if Kiri could help them sort this matter.

Though he was determined to be a helping hand, he was a bit apprehensive about this request. And when they saw his hesitation for a moment, they decided to let Kiri rest for the day and hopefully join them the next day to begin the investigation. This way, they wouldn’t be forcing a stranger to help them for no reason.

And with that, Kiri would return to the inn, get his bath, and lie down on bed, thinking for a few minutes on what to respond with. Whatever it may be, he’ll have to live with it, and so he decided that a good restful sleep would be needed.
