Bound in his shadow jutsu, Kiri would bring the three men he had caught in the forest back into the village. It wasn’t that hard when their movements were restricted, hence stopping them from attempting to escape during the journey. Luckily for Kiri, he wouldn’t have to expend his energy on the lot for so long as he easily caught sight of the entrance of the village from the where they were. He didn’t have to fire the signal flare either, since he had captured them. Besides, it might end up alerting the rest of the arson group and their plans would be changed. Instead, Kiri thought it was best to interrogate them and learn more so that they could intervene with other group knowing.
Lugged around first, the three men would soon be thrown into a barn where the team awaited them. Men with ropes quickly grabbed one of the members of the arson group and tied them up, arms legs and then bound together around one of the poles in the barn. It was a bit of a struggle at first, so Kiri had to lend a hand by binding them again in his shadow jutsu so that their movements were halted before they were done. It was only when they were securely roped around the pole that the team now surrounded them and began to ask questions.
“Who sent you?” asked the team leader in his large and deep voice, shoving a spade into the ground. It wasn’t much of an intent but he figured it would give some ideas to the arsonists that they were in serious trouble, probably be threatened to be buried alive. It took a bit more of persuasive questioning, silent and cold stares from the other members, and then a few howling dogs from outside the barn before the three trembled and decided to cooperate.
“I-it was the city folks,” said one of the men, eyes watering in fright. “Something about bad for their business.”
“So you decide to the burn the forest along with the village just to get rid of the factory?!” one of the team asked, enraged.
“They said it was better to look natural. And we can’t stop now.”
“That’s right, they were still plotting to find the factory,” said Kiri, stepping in before one of the team members decides to pounce at the three and it would be impossible to get more information.
“I see. Speak up,” said the team leader as he raised the spade next to the man’s head.
The man shrieked for a moment before he finally regained his composure and began to talk about the separate group going towards the factory and setting the fire, as soon as their group was done making a diversion in the other side of the village. And when they learned that it was supposed to happen before nighttime, so that the fire would not be easily seen, they knew they were running out of time.
“Why didn’t you say so earlier?!” a man kicked one of the arsonists.
In any case, with that information out, the team now knew that they had to be quick and reach the factory before the separate group sets it afire. Still, it may as well be too late and to move as a group could easily be seen by scouts. As such, Kiri would suggest that he go ahead and that he’ll try to stop them on time. They were a bit hesitant to let him handle it at first but with little choice, they had to agree. Besides, learning that he was a shinobi was made them feel relieved at the very least.
As such, Kiri would head out from the barn without any hesitation. He followed the direction given to him and just as he thought, there were a few scouts along the trees. He sensed them and had to deal with them quickly using his shadow jutsu. The chakra-infused shadows stretched so easily and far, capturing their targets, binding them and then breaking them out from consciousness until they fell unconscious on the ground. Further ahead, somewhere barren, he would spot the large brick structure which was the factory, and just outside, he would find the said arsonist group. They already had torches with them, all five of them, and one wrong move could send them throwing the said torches into the factory and everything would be over.
Moving fast, Kiri would leap out from the trees and cast his jutsu around them. A sudden rain would begin and the arsonists looked up in disbelief. At that point, Kiri breezed past them with a fast movement, breaking their torches in one swift swing of his sword. But he was not allowed to kill them. It would be poor taste. So he sheathed his sword as they fell on the ground in shock. With the torches in half and dying as the rain poured on, some would reach for their weapons to attack him. But before they could do so, Kiri quickly gathered his chakra and caught them in a snare, latching onto their limbs and halting all their movements. Then, he would approach each of them and disarm, before knocking them all unconscious.
Following suit, the team arrived as fast as they could, noting that Kiri was indeed fast. They quickly roped the men together and hauled them to be taken to town before they were imprisoned. The few that there were left went to inspect the factory and fortunately, everything was safe. As the rain stopped, Kiri and the men would return to the town.
