Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

He didn’t think that his quick hunting trip into the forest would lead to an emergency search and rescue. About four hours earlier, Kiri was doing a nostalgic run. It was something that he used to preoccupy himself with as he was still learning the ropes of being a shinobi – a regular hunt to quell the thirst of his beast (back when he was still not aware of his bloodline and curse of his clan). It was when he was still aloof and preferred things his way as the older one in the class, and so he took it upon himself train twice harder, twice more. But thinking on it, it was perhaps those days that honed his tenacity and never-say-die attitude.

And so, as he had only planned to track some of the usual prey he’d remember to be running along these areas, he surprisingly found a crying child. It was a moment of shock, almost a trip to memory lane of his younger self, but then he quickly noted that there was distress in the child’s voice and so he tried to calm her down. It was there when he learned that the child had lost her way and was separated from her grandfather. Apparently, they were only about to go to the entrance of the forest to find some herbs that grew there but she had gotten distracted and soon enough found herself lost. She claimed that her grandfather was looking for her, hearing his voice but the further she went to follow it, the sooner the voice disappeared. Thus, she feared her grandfather may have gone further.

Indeed, it was a bad sign. Kiri brought the child with him to the entrance of the forest. A guard along the gates to the village was there so he entrusted the child to him and said that he would go out to look for her grandfather. Pain and remorse were in the child’s eyes but Kiri assured her that he would find her gradnfather alive and bring him back. As he turned to leave for the forest, Kiri suddenly remembered a painful memory. He remembered when Osu told him that promising false hope to patients were far more painful than any illness. He only hoped that this time, his promise was real.

As he set off to search for the old man, the child would make one last remark which changes the entire scenario. Kiri learns that the old man had been suffering a serious pulmonary disease and has been adamant to go to the hospital, relying on neighbourhood clinics. Immediately, Kiri raced into the clinic. If there was anything more annoying than a missing person, it was a missing SICK person. Not to mention that the old man was a stubborn fool who refused to go to the village hospital… Kiri could only imagine how much worry he would give to his grandchild whenever he enters a coughing fit. To an aspiring doctor, that sounded strange bordering stupid, but Kiri understood the pragmatic personalities such as these. He could only hope he makes it in time.

As he entered the forrest, it would almost be impossible to search for one man under such a small timeframe. Thus, he allowed himself to be possessed by his brother’s soul. With the beast’s chakra emanating from his, and his third eye opening to widen his vision and control, his senses would heightened. He then let his chakra-infused shadows crawl along the surface as he would move quickly, making sure to pick any traces of footprints or presence of another person within the area.

It wasn’t long, however, when he did came up with something. There was a shriek and a tremor on the ground. There was a cause for worry as Kiri recognised it as one of the beasts in the area. Immediately, the blonde would make haste for the direction of the commotion, arriving just in time to find a large wolf-like creature about to maul an elderly man on the ground. Jumping out from behind the tree, Kiri’s shadow would shoot out like tendrils, catching the fiend’s legs and dragging it down with a horrendous crash. Kiri quickly slid over to the old man, a bit relieved to see he was alive, but the gash and the scratches he earned were quite fresh.

In any case, he would have to begin with a bit of treatment at that area, but the fiend was showing guts. It was struggling and managing to move despite the binding of the shadows. Even when the tendrils bit into its flesh, it seemed almost to only make it angrier. As such, Kiri would summon Eirin, the sea slug contract who was part of the pact he made with the slugs of Sakuna’s Forest. Using her chakra to veil around her body and make it appear as though she was swimming in the air, Eirin would grant a sticky slime that acted as both antidote and healing jutsu on the old man. As this was going on, Kiri decided it was no time to be merciful nor to be tempted for a hunt and would have to deal with the fiend immediately.

As such, the entire area would soon be engulfed by shadows. With the fiend attempting to attack once more, a hurl of shadows come in between it and Kiri, lashing out multiple strikes. Blood splayed across the ground and when the shadow dome dispersed, there lay the fiend in pieces. Turning back, Kiri would help the old man up, carrying him on his back before he and Eirin would leave the scene.

For once, he felt a bit of relief. His training with Junko to control his beast had worked. He did not accidentally hurt the old man and he kept his promise. Upon seeing the waiting child with the guard as they neared the entrance of the forest, Kiri felt the old man’s gratitude. Of course, he would have to give him a lecture about the importance of going to the hospital, and thankfully, the old man agreed for the sake of his grandchild.
