Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Standing at the edge of one of the few cliff sides within Dragon Tooth Pass that one could stand on, albeit outside the radius of kumogakure's gates that were staffed at all times by village shinobi. With his arms crossed, he stood there, unmovable, as his eyes gazed down below towards the enormous city, his crimson irises scanning it's many rooftops and busy streets. There was the occasional spire that seemingly tried to reach into the heavens, only to come up short. Despite a cold gust of wind ruffling through his hair, now long, having grown past his shoulders, and messy, compared to before, did little to bother him. He remained emotionless and stoic, even as his dark red haori began rippling in the air, revealing more of his dull painted, dark blue armor that hung to his body underneath. Keeping himself at a safe distance to prevent himself from being marked as some suspect by the shinobi guarding the gates in the distance, he remained in deep thought. It had been two years now, since his return from his exile, since taking his rightful place as his clan's heir.

In the time since than, he was forced back into the world of clan politics, giving him little time for much of anything, much less training or anything recreational, yet he fought to make time, especially when he stumbled upon a young Genin that reminded him heavily of himself, and decided to take him under his wing. It was a difficult time in his life, forcing him to adapt and make sacrifices, especially for his apprentice. He hoped It would become easier, but It didn't. After a substantial amount of time had passed, he was thrown into the fray, his father forcing his hand to enter the battlefield, regardless of his feelings on the matter. Fighting amongst the other miscellaneous clans that kumogakure couldn't be bothered with, It drew him away from his apprentice, leaving him to his own devices for the majority of time, to continue his training on his own. It was a depressing matter for him, but obligation and duty came before anything else. Speaking of obligation, he couldn't ignore the one obligation he had made since he had been a young, nameless Genin, one that had probably been written off a long time ago.

It was time to return to kumogakure, not as a guest or as a citizen, but as a full fledged shinobi. It had been too long since his unofficial exit. It was time to remedy that, as honor dictated, to uphold the oaths he had taken, as well as formally become his apprentice's sensei. How he would do that? He didn't know, and that left him where he was standing now. He doubted he could simply walk in and report for "duty", and even If he could, he was still technically a Genin. While he would never boast, as pride was often a point of weakness for any warrior, It would certainly be a waste of his time and abilities to be put in the same tier as his apprentice who could barely even control his chakra, let alone command it like any true shinobi. He certainly wasn't stupid enough to visit the Raikage herself, ever busy that woman was no doubt, or any of the shinobi in leadership positions. He certainly found himself in a pickle with no straight forward answer. In this moment of annoyance, he closed his eyes momentarily and sighed internally.....

Yuna has had her operatives on high alert, always watching the gates since the Tama incident. Maybe she is being a bit too harsh? Possibly. But she's hoping that as long as the next few weeks start to calm down, then she can give her operatives more break time. Heck, she needs to have a break after doing the bulk of the Sennin work up until Kazan had been promoted up to it. She did let her operatives work under the guise of them acting as normal ninja, as to make the Anbu presence less known. She surmised that people often try riskier things once people of authority aren't around.

The same would be said for her as she would make her way to the gates in her usual attire, rather than the anbu garb. She wore black like armor with her purple hair flowing in the slight wind. To those not an anbu, a Sennin, or the Raikage, Yuna would seemingly just be a jounin rank ninja. But her own authoritative presence was enough for anyone to follow her orders. She had gotten a tip off of someone hanging around the Gates, not too close, but still lingering.

Once there, she looked around and listened to people's blood flows for any indications. Her father had taught her that if she hears a blood flow moving faster than usual, it may be because of adrenaline, something that would tip her off as someone readying themselves. For what? Well... She was no master of it as her father once was. But she has made do with it. It had helped her in the fight with Tama, a Hybrid from Sand. Finally, her eyes settled on someone that looked familiar. It took her a second to realize, as it has been a while, and they only had one interaction, but she remembered the name and approached the young male. "Tamashi Seto. It's been a while. You know, lingering around the gates would make people suspicious of you. What brings you here?"

The wind bustling behind him, his armor rustled in the wind. Despite the numerous thoughts that were running through his mind, he found himself at ease. His gazing of the city below, gave him a peace of mind he couldn't explain, It just did. Of course, given where he was at, It was only nature that eventually, someone would show up to investigate, not that the thought had bothered him. He had hardly even given the matter any thought by the time his senses had gone into overdrive, indicating some individual had arrived. Initially, he kept himself where he stood, keeping his back to them, his eyes still remaining on the city infront of him. That changed when he heard a familiar voice, and a feminine one at that. He had expected some faceless Chuunin or Jonin, yet instead the voice resonated within him, forcing him to remember a interaction he had with a female Jonin two years ago, one that he had taken a likening to. This was unexpected. He didn't foresee this. As a response, his right eye turned to meet her, reaching the corner of his eyes to look back. A guest of wind came in, sending his dark red haori to susurrate in the wind.

"I was simply standing here, taking a view of the city as I usually do....like the first time we met. It helps me think, reminding me why I chose to done this armor in the first place....well...that and my next move. It's been two years since our first meeting, since my return, and I still, have yet to find what purpose I'm supposed to have in this village. I'm sure someone in your position, may find it easy, as plain as day, but not for me. For all intent and purposes, I'm a stranger, and I'm sure I was written off long ago as some idiotic Genin that had gotten himself killed."

A few moments after sighing with his eyes closed, he shifted his head over his right shoulder, his now long hair shifting along with him, he looked at with curios expression, still curious why she of all people was here investigating instead one of her people. That thought quickly escaped him however, It didn't really matter. It also seemed she was wearing the same outfit from before, which on it's own, brought up other questions, all pointless. He kept himself focused on the her and now."So, is this visit purely pleasure? Or business as usual? I'm sure someone of your station is needed everywhere. A Sannin is far too important to be doing grunt work, but than again, paperwork is a eyesore to humanity~" He kept his eyebrow raised, but he did speak in a more laid back, friendlier tone, now turning to face her completely, with his arms & hands visible to show he wasn't thinking of doing anything stupid. He wasn't nowhere idiotic enough to do something stupid in the presence of a Sannin after all.

Yuna had shown small subtle movement of relaxation, this is a sign for any anbu agents that might be around the area to be at ease with Seto and focus more at the gates themselves. She would listen to what he had to say about finding his purpose for the Village. She knows all too well about that, despite him saying that it must have been easy for her. She started her own ninja career at the age of sixteen. All with the idea to get her father out of harms way, only for him to die on a mission.

Even now as a Sennin, her predecessor didn't teach her anything about being a Sennin, in fact, she was tasked with cleaning up her predecessor's mess. She had the former main branch Sennin, Ryu Rei, challenge her authority, and even now, that she is a little bit more senior in the role, she is still the youngest of the two active Sennin, albeit Kazan is newer to his role, he does have more years of a career under his belt. Yuna herself has dedicated herself more to hard cold logic and her own power to reassure herself that Kitsune made the right choice in promoting her.

Seto would then pose a question for her, which was more or less why was she here. Short answer was that she was ever too watchful of the Gates since Tama had attacked. It wouldn't surprise her if the guards who were at the gates at the time of the attack had talked about it. How an unassuming anbu agent had taken on a giant of a man with storm powers and won. It may have been one of Yuna's first win in the books, but it didn't really felt like a win. It felt like the fight ended too quickly, in her opinion. But either way, she was due for an answer, "Just stretching my legs. Always good to check out the Gates to make sure the defenses are presentable." There were many people at the gates, main branch shinobi, and anbu, whom weren't in their anbu garbs as said before, to make people a little bit more relaxed.

"You said that you have no purpose and that you are a stranger?" Yuna brought the conversation back to what he said earlier, "Well, I may have some connections, if you are interested, in finding your purpose for the Village. Though, they would rather talk in a more private area such as the Ancient Forest." A hint to him, that if he's interested, the conversation would lead them there.

(OOC: Sorry if this is short, I ended up damaging one of my fingers that makes it hard to type since I can't put any pressure on it.)

His eyes flashed closed momentarily, hearing her speak. Somehow, despite having only met her once before, he wasn't surprised by her response. It was a natural response after all. He didn't know the in's or out's of everything but he knew since the civil war and events that came after, the security had been considerable tighten, obviously.
Hmm....I see....well, I shouldn't be hypocritical.

"Hmm....I see...well, I shouldn't be hypocritical. I have no room to talk when I fulfill a similar role outside those walls."

He looked back at the Sannin, his eyes lingering back on her form, ignoring to mention he often acted as his clan's shield now, during times of conflict. At the speaking of mentions however, Yuna mentioned she had connections she could use If he was interested in finding what he had stated earlier. Well, he had no reason to turn her down, especially when she had the authority no doubt, to get through the red tape, and whatever else bureaucracy had in store for those lower in the system. "I suppose that would make sense, even If the security here is top notch. Lead the way, and thank you, for not blowing me off. I trust you have some fun in mind?" With someone of her station, he wasn't stupid enough to not know she wouldn't test him in some way, whether It may combat or, less than amusing things. Apart of him doubted the later however. She didn't seem the type unless ticked off or in serious mood. Still, he was thankful she was more than willingly to listen and to help him out. Out of all the people he had met in the cloud, she seemed to be the only one he ever really resonated with, at least adult wise. Now that he thought about it, that sounded pretty awful...
