With a constant happy-go-lucky grin on his face, Kawachi when not standing up straight is as wide as he is tall and has the body proportions of a hamster. His face, while chubbily round is like a squirrel's, as the kid can fit as many butter sticks in his mouth as he has chins.
Character's Mental Description: Kawachi is not a very bright kid. When other people are looking in the drawer to see who’s the sharpest, they notice the soggy cucumber that fell in a week ago. He’s not intelligent in the slightest and would not have passed the academy if not for outside help. The character spends most of his time eating butter to boost his Akimichi and thinking about very little else.
With his head constantly filled with thoughts about butter, Kawachi does anything and everything that he can to obtain as much butter as humanly possible. The distinction between good and bad is incredibly blurred for him as his moral compass is fairly dysfunctional. While amicable and peaceful most of the time, when his butter is touched or his right to have butter is infringed upon, Kawachi angrily lashes out regardless of who or what's messing with his butter.

Growing up, Kawachi was extremely fat. His diet consisted mostly of straight butter, and other foods that technically counted as butter just because of how much butter was involved in the cooking process. Within a few days of anyone new meeting him, Kawachi would be given the moniker of Big Butter Boy and that was how his legend spread among the youth of Cloud. Where other Akimichis steadfastly maintained the fact that the Akimichi were “big-boned” and not fat, even they agreed that the Big Butter Boy was undeniably fat.
The root of this incident all happened one day when the formerly skinny lad fell into a big vat of butter at the local butter factory. Being stuck in there for two days and two weeks, the skinny boy finally emerged as a fat lad when at long last, he was saved. The friendly Akimichis that saved him promptly decided that the young boy was a lost Akimichi and brought him home to continue to fatten up. It was here that Kawachi began learning how to be a ninja and started training in the ways of the Akimichi besides just the eating aspect. They were a simple family; they rolled around, punched stuff that they didn't like, and ate pills when they were mad. Kawachi felt like he was in heaven and adamantly learned as much as he could. Between the obesity and the boy’s newfound love for butter, he fit in well as an Akimichi until slowly as the kid himself, he began to out-eat the other Akimichis.
Unfortunately for the young Akimichi, the fat lad’s obesity was only rivaled by his lack of intelligence. Just as much as the boy was unable to fit through most standard doors, he was similarly unable to fit through the threshold that it took to graduate from the shinobi academy. As everyone else that he entered the academy with graduated on, Kawachi remained in his extra large chair month after month, year after year without receiving a head protector and continued to grow more distant with the rest of the Akimichis.
Kawachi, being the slow and dumb kid that he was, didn’t hang out too much with the rest of the Akimichi group. He had a sincere love of butter and not much other types of food. As much as the Akimichis loved eating, it was nothing compared to Kawachi and he shared little similarities to the other Akimichi that they could connect on.. Kawachi lived his life for butter and butter alone. Before meeting Kagetsu Boken, he lived his life as an academy student far older than everyone else without any friends.
Disassociating with the rest of the Akimichis within the Kagetsu clan, Kawachi was a loner for most of his childhood life, managing to scrounge by as local restaurant owners took pity on the poor fat kid that wanted nothing but butter and gave him the gold that was solid, mushy or liquid, depending on whatever season it was. When he was fourteen, he met Boken, a less than skilled students who realized the potential of the fat Akimichi who did anything for butter.
Somehow with the help of the other two, the Akimichi managed to do well enough in class that he slid his buttered way into a genin exam. Luckily, the genin exam wasn’t a written demonstration that type, but the instructor had wanted a practical exam! Who knows if the instructor was just feeling irritated or something that day, or decided to take it easy on the poor kid that didn’t actually know any jutsu, but the exam was just lasting a certain amount of time against the Instructor trying to incapacitate you!
Designed to appeal to taijutsu dodgers, genjutsu illusion clone users and ninjutsu users, Kawachi managed to somehow score best in the class! Between the fact that the boy had slathered himself with butter before coming to class on accident while trying to eat an absolutely massive slab of butter and the boy trying to roll around so that the instructor’s dirty hands didn’t get on his glorious coating of butter, the Akimichi managed to evade the instructor for a surprisingly large amount of time. It was like trying to catch a greased pig, but the pig's body was perfectly shaped for rolling around. It was the boy's first experience with wrestling and my god, did he enjoy it. After all, Kawachi was significantly older than the rest of them and with an exam that didn't require genjutsu or ninjutsu, the boy excelled.
Two men entered the exam, and two really sweaty guys left it, as Kawachi was now qualified to wear the headgear of a shinobi from Cloud! After waiting two weeks on his special extra extra large Shinobi headguard to come in, Kawachi was now proud to be a genin as he tried showing it off to all of the people that he was begging for butter from before realizing that he could make money for butter as a genin! As the boy found out about the opportunity for monster hunting, Kawachi was enamored by the opportunity to wrestle other monsters now that he found out that his buttery coating was a natural advantage. Let loose within the village with the position of genin, Kawachi's first decision was to only eat fourteen sticks of butter that night for dinner. He had to start thinking healthily after all.
