Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Yukari found herself pacing the halls of the Hokage mansion. The dark haired girl would take notice to the hustling of the office Shinobi and just how much of a difference there was between those like herself who preformed in the field. She did not envy them the least. “Salt of the earth these people, they work harder than the rest of us...” a bit of admiration escaped her but only for a moment. She continues on knowing that her purpose for today was not to people watch.

Approaching her sennin’s door, Yukari would raise a fist to knock but instead would hold for a bit. She’d bite her lip gently unsure as to how this would all play out. She had to be brave however in order to address the recent rumors. They were... unsettling to say the least. With a sigh the dark haired girl would muster the resolve needed for this conversation and would knock three times on the sennin’s door. She’d wait outside patiently for an invitation or until someone answered. Once invited in, the sennin would see the dark haired girl, an almost identical Kunochi of her sister Akira Amaya except that she looked younger and her hair was jet black and her eyes a golden gaze. Unlike her sister who normally would have a faint smile, Yukari had many facial expressions. The one she carried into the room looked as though she was concerned but it was truly one of discontent. She wore a deep red one piece Kunochi skirt that was strapless with long sleeves. Black spandex shorts could be seen from the slit of her dress on either side and she wore dark shinobi combat boots.

Alright guys, so my day got a little better after the uhhh, the 'incident' at the gates with Bi-Pimp with the Gimp Limp,... Truth be told I felt kinda violated you know, so much so I HAD to shower. Would have went for a bath but I like to save those for the end of a long work night. Anyway~anyway, so I goes to the Sennin office right, mostly to make one final attempt at makin' sure my vaca is legit na' mean? So I changed back into the clothes I had on before because of laundry day and budgeting,... I might tell y'all that later but it ain't important right now. So I hit myself with some smell-good, had a pre-prepped meal, hit the brush and rinse one time you know you gotta make sure you're fresh, and then I head to the Sennin office. So I get there you know, I see a female secretary and uhh flatter her just a little bit and leave it at that for now because when someone is at work, you ain't gotta rush the connect you follow?

So she goes the directions I'm on my way right, and then, guess who I spot in front of the Sennin office? Boo... y'all don't remember who Boo is? Y'all remember that chick at the park? No not that rude Baebae Kid,... yeah yeah the other one I was about to spar with. She was dressed a good deal different now but those eyes and curves I ain't forgot just yet na' mean. But I don't finch on the recollect or nothin' as I approach her whereabouts from her right. But about saaaay 5 feet from 'er, I slow up a little you know, I attempt to glide my right fingers from her right shoulder to her left as I walk past and I am like "Hey Boo, diggin' the casuals, and them heels." And when I get to the other side of her, I post against the wall right next to the door on her left. I lean and relax grabbing my left wrist and my right ankle over the left at the same time. "Sorry I had to bounce just before our bout, I was on call and all that. But I definitely want to see if we'll reschedule our attempt to tussle. Or, we could skip straight to the part where you doctor me up... na' mean?" Had I light smile goin' on but nothing too happy though. Plenty of reasons to be in a mood but I stays relaxed.

Asuka kept looking at the piece of paper while Rayne filled it out. Her companion doing the paperwork for her, it hadn't been that long since that day but she still felt the same. Rayne simply looked at her and sighed a couple of times. It was the position. The stress was getting to her. But well, she liked it none the less. The knock on the door made Asuka snap out of her thoughts and made her look up towards it. Wondering who it might be she simply yelled out. "Come in.". She waited for the door to open, the person who came in wasn't unexpected. But Asuka did look at Rayne which the girl responded with a simple shrug. "I'll let you deal with this one." She simply said, turning into a black light, shooting towards Asuka's hand and morphing into a scythe. "Close the door behind you, if anyone else is with you... leave them outside."

Asuka had an idea about what this was about and didn't lose eyesight of Yukari, with a straight expression she gestured to the girl to take a sit. Asuka requested silence for a second and opened one of her drawers, looking through her files. "Give me a second." Asuka sighed as she stopped moving through the papers and took out two different files. Placing them on the table. With a serious expression, Asuka pushed forward the first file towards Yukari "I'm going to take a wild guess and assume you are here in regard to the situation with your sister. So, I'm going to be blunt and get straight to the point. Whether you know or not, it's my duty to tell you what happened." Asuka sighed "That file reports the situation but long story short, she tried to betray the village by running after murdering quite a few leaf citizens. The situation was dealt with accordingly. You deserve to know, so you may ask any question but know that once you're done I have a few questions of my own."

My eyes would widen as I was startled by an unfamiliar man who decided to slide his fingers from one side of my shoulders to the other. How startling and so very inappropriate. I’d remain still until he posted against the wall where my gaze would meet him.

“Boo?”

I would innocently reply to the gentleman over musked in men’s fragrances and wearing an outfit over causal in that it was probably better suited for a day at a shopping excursion rather than the office work space. I stare at the man curiously as he was a peculiar fellow, in a rather peculiar fashion, saying peculiar things. I’d flip my hair back before allowing myself to finally reply to the man who mistakenly assumed such familiarity with me.

“Maah maah, Saah I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasuaah. We’ve never met be-fo-wah? I must say, you gave me quite the fright and under different circumstances I’d likely skin you alive. But now you have me curious saah... first about this tussle and second just who are yah? ...and maybe why are yah wearing sunglasses in doors?”

That’s when I heard a reply from the other side of the sennin’s door. I instantly placed a finger over the man’s mouth to prevent him from replying so that I could speak instead.

“Maah apologies sugah, hold that thought.”

With that I would enter the room. A strange creature had turned into dark light and zipped to the Sennin’s hand manifesting itself into a harvesting weapon. I’d raise an eyebrow before making my way to a seat I was motioned to. Apparently the main branch sennin was just as unhappy to be here right now as I. Taking my seat, a file was passed over to me. So she already knew why I was stopping by today. This was good, we were able to jump right into the happy bits. Naturally I spared no time in reading and flipping through. So it was true... she was dead after all. I fought the flooding of emotions that came ramming through me but even I’m not that strong as a single tear escaped me. I quickly wiped it away not wanting to appear weak. The hurt I was experiencing wasn’t because this was a death of a family member that I loved, at least that wasn’t the full truth. Unbenounced to others, it was supposed to be me who defeated her, to prove I was her better and because of circumstances I’ll never have the chance.

“Well ma’am, you would assume cor-reect. As much as Aah wish this was a stop of happiah context, it is as you say.”

I’d listen to Asuka as she gave me the terms of this meeting. She would do me the curtesy of informing me on the details in exchange that I’d answer a few of her questions after. Perhaps her questions were in regards to her own concerns considering she had her weapon drawn already. Curious... to be honest, nothing had been dealt with as she said. Certain things weren’t right about this report. Those she killed, her attempt at escaping, and even the words she spoke in her final moments.

“Ma’am I don’t mind a few questions but Maah main concern has been add-ressed. The only question I have now is in regards to whaah hah body and accoutrement aah located so that I may retrieve them... and lastly, who ad-ministered the killing blow?”

Yep, the name takes, it almost always does. The fact that she repeats it, lets y'all know. So when I spits my game she starts actin' like she don't know me, which must be a mistake cause,... I'm Gorudo Basuta na' sayin'. Love me or hate me, you gonna remember me. While she talking about "having the pleasure" though, I was thinkin' 'Yeah yeah, if the pleasuaah is what you wantin'...' But I ain't interupptin' a lady with somethin' on her mind, I mights like what she has to say. So I hear her out you know, she starts gettin' ready to hit me with all sorts of questions right. Then I start to think,... maybe she actually someone else cause that accent kinda heavy I didn't remember the chick at the park sounding quite like that na' mean?

So she asks about my glasses and then gives me a moment to chime so I'm like, "Well, if you li..." But she puts the hush on me, but in all the way she could have, it wasn't in an aggressive way na' mean? In fact, sensual. And I thinkin' 'Yeah, ya boy's in.' Equated me to sugar went inside when a voice on the other side called her in. She was first so I ain't protestin' that. I waited days for passport stuff, what's another few minutes. But I do check out the booty as she walks in though, ain't hidin' it. She closes the door though before I get a chance to see what the other chick in the room looks like, but I can wait. So while I'm posted I face forward and catch someone chunnin lookin' dude with a scroll in his hand just standing there looking my way. We there lookin' at each other for like two seconds before he gives a smirk and a nod of approval something like the 'I see you homie', so return one like, ' 'preciate it'. He must have caught some part of what went on, but yeah he heads on about his business. Then I just pop a mint and chill. Wasn't nothin' left to do but contemplate next weeks meal menu na' mean?

Asuka scracthed the back of her head, her questions were indeed fair. Especially since the circumstances on how it happened was rather bizarre. She noticed the tear running down but she didn't mention it. It was obvious she would feel this way towards a sibling but in the end it didn't really matter. She wanted information and this was the best way she would get it. "On our world, living a happy life is rare." She nodded with a sigh. She quickly looked back at her and listened to her request.

It was reasonable to say the least but she didn't know if Nagisa would let the body go if she had a choice, that's why she pushed the second file towards her. "Takeshi was the one who gave the killing blow." She simply said pointing at the file "That's a letter from me addressed to the Medic Sennin giving you a right to bury your sister. You can't take the body out of the village or try to study it unfortunately. Rayne will accompany you as my messenger and as backup."

"Now." She started with a serious expression. "Do you have any idea what changed in your sister? For some reason she was way too violent and unreasonable when I confronted her. It made little to no sense."

Yukari wasn’t surprised to here Takeshi’s name. The gossip around the village painted the man as a butcher and child murder amongst other titles. She’d cress her forehead with the tips of her fingers before taking the file pass to her. Though oblige to receive a letter of rights, Yukari was reluctant in accepting the aid of an escort.

“Ma’am that won’t be necessaha, I do believe this lettah will suffice.”

Getting her sister’s body and gear back was of great importance to her. She needed proof to show her parents that the daughter they loved more had turned out to be the disappointment. Now there was a matter of Asuka’s question. She wanted to know if Yukari had any idea what caused Amaya to go... well, insane. Insanity may have been the culprit. Yukari examined the photos of the “innocent” Shinobi killed and took note of their fatal injuries. A precise and professional killer like Amaya was skilled in both combat and assassination. So why were there unnecessary cuts and slashed on the victims. The work was that of a homicidal berserker rather than that of the artist Amaya. She was a professional. Her cuts would have been clean, straight, and targeted the vital organs to end their lives quick however these wounds were jagged, sloppy and spermatic.

“Well ma’am I could only speculate. Have yah evah heahd of a little medical term called battle fatigue? It’s moah or less when a Shinobi losses theyah shit and goes crazy do to the strain of this heah profession. Combine that with a little ptsd and you got yoahself an old fashion beserkah. Now I do happen to know such a condition is easily treatable with a little rnr and counselling given that it’s recognized by leadahship... With three of the villages main leadahs on the scene, one being the medical sennin, I am surprised at this outcome. Perhaps I shouldn’t be. Why not add mental patients to the blotter right next to academy students. That’s just how this village shows might isn’t it? ”

Yukari would grin before sliding her seat back to stand. If there was nothing else, she’d bow before taking the file and heading towards the door.

Asuka nodded to her request. Well if she wanted to go alone that would be fine. It didn't really matter as long as she got her sister's body. She just hoped the medical team would be able to make sure nothing was taken that wasn't supposed to. "Allright, your choice in the end."

Yukari answered her question and Asuka couldn't dismiss it. It made sense, stress.... maybe she should give her Shinobi a vacation to simply relax and do whatever they want. But considering current events.... it's not something she can afford to do. Asuka, lost in thought, almost missed the last remark. That made her flinch in disgust. As Yukari stood up to leave Asuka waited for a few seconds, before grabbing her scythe, using one hand to throw it. It flew across the room impeding itself on the door sending a clear message "You're not leaving.". Those kind of remarks were not welcomed. If Yukari turned her head Asuka would simply be smiling widely, signaling Yukari to take her seat back. Once she did, without dropping the smile Asuka spoke. "Mind explaining what you meant by that last remark?" She said "Let's not play word games and get straight to the point."

Man,... I just waited man like what else do y'all want me to say? Oh okay fine. So 30 plus some odd ninjas pop out of nowhere and I go ham on them like one of those kung-fu flicks right. We like tearing the whole hallway na' sayin' and then some dude with a flamethrower comes out of one end and I run and jump out of the window with fire burstin' all behind me and s#$t,... Naw, none of that, just me posted against the wall waitin' for my turn. Although I will say this, those three girls in there are probably talkin' the same thing all females talk about. Guys. And you know, with all their pretentiousness, they can be just as 'dirty' minded as they claim men are. They probably talkin' about they're orgy years right now. But the minute I step there, they will be virgins, looking for "Mr. Right" and "true love" will matter most. Mm hm. Y'all know. And if you don't, now you do.

*Shink/Crack*

So like tell me why did a blade came through my side of the door? I just paused for a moment and was like, "Uhhhhh...." I tap the edge of the blade a couple of times just to kinda check the senses you know. So now I gotta pull myself off the wall and check on these girls. Very slowly open the door and poke my head in the room kinda slow like, "Soooooo, like y'all good in here or somethin' cause uhh *peeks at the scythe*... yeah." ... Catfights,... gotta love 'em.

As Yukari approached the door, the living scythe was herald into it to impede her advances. With a pause, Yukari would take a moment to remove the look of frustration given rise by the act. She’d manage rather quickly, turning to face Asuka wearing a confident look of smug contempt while folding her arms.

“Mmm, was there something else ma’am?”

Yukari would find herself being motioned to return to her seat as Asuka inquires as to the hidden meaning of Yukari’s final retorts. Nodding, Yukari would oblige Asuka’s request but would find pause as the door slowly opened and a set of sunglasses peered through. It was the man from before who didn’t understand the meaning of boundaries. Though an obvious lecher, he had legitimate concern for the two. Yukari would respond firstly with a smile before answering with words.

“Mmm, oh not to fret mah chivalrous debauchee. We’re just indulging in a bit of girl talk, right Asuka-sama? My how wonderful to see that chivalry is not lost to the Shinobi men.”

Yukari would turn back to Asuka sure that shades would humor them. Taking her seat, Yukari’s arms would fold once more before crossing her legs as well.

“Now where were we? Ah yes, you were displaying your discontent for word games in a form similar to a tantrum (chuckling). Ma’am I mean no disrespect. It’s just this report... I can tell that you didn’t agree with the way things turned out, that you believed that there was another way to handle things. The Hokage administered the final blow but not before you pleaded for Amaya’s life. It’s to mah assumption that you didn’t agree with the death penalty... well at least not right away. Like any good and moral leadah you preferred to understand the reason why she did what she did because something clearly wasn’t right. Am I correct in this assumption ma’am?”

Asuka waited for Yukari to take her seat. She still couldn't and that was one of the things she didn't like. In the end though it wasn't as if nothing had happened, Asuka did threw her scythe at the door which probably wasn't the best course of action. Having said that she didn't like the guy with the sunglasess opening he door but she understood his concern. "It's allright." She responded to the man "If you got no buisness with me I'll ask if you could leave. If you do have buisness with me please wait outside until I'm done.

Seeing Yukari sit down made her feel better but her smug attitude did rub her the wrong way. It wasn't that she was a bad person per say, jus the smug kinda made her mad. This girl had a knack of getting on her nerves. But even then, she couldn't deny that Yukari was cunning. Her words were gven with thought and logic which she liked. Asuka sighed, streching her hand. In a wisp of black light her scythe flew back towards her hand. She then scratched the back of her head. "I did agree with the action taken. The law was placed for a reason and should be respected as such, although I won't deny that I would've liked to have a talk with your sister about what brought such behavior. Information that you have provided and will be investigated." Asuka looked up and stared at Yukari "Although I would like to ask that you refrain from using those kinds of words since they aren't exactly friendly."

"If you got any concerns or do not agree with a decision. I'd prefer you came forward and told me those concerns with... a less... joking tone."

Okay, so like nothing really was going on like, I didn't get to see any heated action but hey... Besides, just my opinion, in terms of chick fights, civilian fights are 'typically' far more entertaining than ninja chick fights. With all the precision training and cold-n-calculated demeanors, that feisty, rough-housing, anything-goes energy gets lost you know what I mean? Like, a chick lightly covered in a few scratches and missing some articles, kinda hot. A chick missing limbs or covered with the blood of her enemies, not so much. Like you get me right? Anywho, Boo turned to me and pretty much told me everything was cool you know. Girl-talk like I figured. But uhh real talk, although I'm kinda diggin' the foreign accent cause you know your boy, it's like a sexy a$$ spice to me, I'm only understandin' about maybe 2/3 of the s#$t she be says na' mean? A 'chivalrous debowcheyeah' something,... I don't know but hey, I like it and I'll take it. So I'm like, "No prob no prob, chivalry's what I do." Then the office owner, the white-haired sennin chick confirms that everything's at "chill-level", then went to the business-speak na' mean? To that I'm like, "No prob Pearl, you're worth the wait."

Then I let them have their girl-time and close up, then I goes to post up against the wall on the other side of the hall, just in case na' mean... Come on now, y'all know these women be lying like crazy. Girl vs Girl, s#$t at never really chill once it starts na' sayin'? They may be talkin' at the moment but I bet right about now they plottin' against each other. Murder, sabotage, embarrassment,... you name it.

I’d give a wink to the pair of sunglasses that exited the room. What a strange one he was. Turning to Asuka I’d notice the scythe was paired back with her once more. Perhaps she’d try her aim again I thought with a frown but then she began to speak. She spoke calmly. It was refreshing even if not genuine given the earlier display. Perhaps she was willing to play nice for now. Besides, attacking a grieving subordinate after killing her sister wouldn’t look to great for the administration. I smiled at the thought but listened carefully to her words. She agreed with the law that such actions taken by Amaya were punishable by death but...

“I assure you ma’am, nothing I’ve said was a joke as this is no joking Mattah but mah sincerest apologies, I did not mean to offend. And I must say, you had me undah the impression that you wanted to have a conversation howevah... Asuka-sama, how can we hold a conversation if you won't admit the truth? You didn’t agree with his actions. Though Amaya’s actions were punishable by death, a trial is to be held to determine such a punishment mmm. How else will the general populace and Shinobi a like know such treasonous actions were punished and that there is justice in this society. Think of the implications. Buy ignoring the standard justice system you leave those grieving family members of the victims in disarray. How do they know that the perpetrator was properly dealt with? Buy the administrations word? This report? I wasn’t even notified about my sister’s death. Instead, she died and was hauled off to some medical facility... imagine the rumors. As far as the world knows is as much as I did before reading this report. Nothing, nothing but rumors and speculation. The same speculations and rumors echoing the streets about other questionable matters. You see, outside this room is a lot of small minds, incapable of seeing the larger picture. I prefer to see the larger picture. Mmm, that’s why I believe your honesty is important. Most importantly is your honesty to yourself. What prevented you from taking your proper course of action? I understand why you didn’t... Fear. It's the strongest human emotion bred into us for one purpose, to keep us alive. But it can also kill us, if we let it, hmm?

I removed a dagger from my person and placed it on her desk. It was a relatively plain looking dagger and a bit worn.

“This was given to me when I was a gennin on the eve of my first mission. I had to sneak in, assassinate a high priority target while he slept. But after I climbed through that man's window, I was paralyzed with fear. My fear was so potent, it felt like an invisible hand had thrust a stake down through my body, nailing me to the ground. That Man woke up, he saw me, and reached for his sword. In that split second I realized, I have a choice, I can die a forgotten coward, or I can live to be celebrated and remembered. Before that man even touched his sword, I slit his throat. Four of his bodyguards stormed into the room, I killed them all. To this day, before every battle, fear visits me, but now I embrace it as a friend. It's what makes you faster, stronger, smarter. As long as you control it instead of letting it control you. Do you understand what I’m trying to say? I have faith in you, Asuka-sama. Indeed, I sense a kindred spirit, a young woman who has the potential to grow into a strong Kunochi. Maybe the greatest kunochi the Leaf village has ever known. I'm gonna give you this as a token of my faith.”

Asuka sighed at the man's words not really giving him any thought. Her main concern was about the girl in front of her. She heard her words, they seemed genuine and this matter was being taken seriously, although she did have a point saying the scythe throwing would be considered a tantrum. Asuka did have a tendancy to react in anger when pissed off, even though it was hard some people apparently had a knack on doing so.

Her words sunk deep. She did believe she was being truthful, she couldn't lie and say that she didn't have some words to exchange between the Hokage and herself. At the very least a conversation would've sufficied to entice her curiosity on the Shinobis behaviour. But it was too late to come regret about that stuff now. Some of the words spoken were truth... others not so much. Everyone was their own person, everyone became what they wanted to be and had to live with the consequences that came with those decisions. The grieving families were another matter entirely. Asuka leaned back on her chair and sighed. "There's a lot of statements that just came out of you." Asuka stated, not as an insult but more with a tone that spoke about pondering Yukari's words. A few moments passed in silence. Asuka grabbed the dagger that was placed in front of her and studied it, for such a simple object it had quite a deep meaning behind it. To some it may look like a worthless weapon, to Yukari it was priceless. To have the guts to give it to Asuka.... she had A LOT of faith. Spining the blade around between her fingers Asuka finally spoke.

"Let's break what you have said into different points." She said leaning forward. "What 've told you so far IS the truth. I agreed with the Hokage's decision, the laws clearly state... your run, you die. No trial, no public judgement. As much as people want to believe, we are a military village with one leader overseeing all." Asuka scratched the back of her head while continuing. "I believe in the decisions taken by each individual, as much as people want to believe it. Leadership of Leaf isn't hearthless. The Hokage isn't heartless, his job has made him cold and calculative but believe me... he does have a sof side for the people of leaf." With a sigh Asuka looked out the window. "But when someone steps over the line te consequences that follow weren't on a split second decision. Not notifying you about your sisters death was my wrong doing. Why? Because I don't like it... I don't like explaining to families that their daughter, their sister turned psycho, murdered quite a few people and got killed in the process. Besides the grie from their death NOW they got to see that their beloved princess was a demon all along." She looked seriously at Yukari. "Finding the right words isn't easy, finding the most neutral and positive way on saying them takes time... I do apologize for that..."

Asuka shook her head "And it wasn't fear... it was worry. I was worried this change in behaviour wasn't an isolated incident. And it might as well happen again. I want to avoid that."

Asuka smiled and handed the dagger back to Yukari. "Yukari, your faith in me doesn't need an object to express it. You coming to me and being honest is enough. I want you to keep this and promise me that... if you start feeling weird... come to me. I will help you." Asuka handed the dagger back to Yukari with a wide smile.

Yukari would frown in response to Asuka’s response at first but would then smile without reason. Asuka’s resolve in believing in a system and behavior that Yukari was beginning to see as the rot of this world simply did not sit well with her. The dagger was a key, sort of speak, to the shackles of this oppressive hierarchical monarchy and its hive mind like control it has over the masses. There were those who would willing subjugate themselves and follow blindly to law, propaganda or otherwise if it meant keeping order; or so the excuse to guise their fear. As Asuka passed the dagger back to her, Yukari contemplated using it to free Asuka in another way but only briefly. Perhaps that’s why Yukari smiled in return. No... not now. It would be more pleasing to see her free herself. With a bow Yukari would receive the dagger once hers and hers again. A smile now enlarging across her face as she took a stand. This key she’d use to free the Leaf village from its shackles of mindless debauchery.

“Oh Asuka-sama... you have mah word. If I feel myself wary of the good fight to keep the Leaf village great, ah will come to you mmm. But fret not, ahm not easily succumb to such a weakness. May this dagger pierce my heart if ahm wrong mmm.”

With a bow Yukari would once again head for the door but this time stopping short to look over her shoulder for a flying scythe; the dagger twirling in one hand. If there was nothing else, Yukari would continue out of the office with a devious smile.

It was about this time I was like wondering if I was dressed a little too casually. So you know, I scratch my chin a bit and kind of straighten out my clothes, brush it off here and there. Even took a little time to buff the shades a little, na’ mean? ”Well, it is what it is now.”

So I post back on the wall thinkin’ ’Man they need to come on. I mean if I at least can’t be in the room to with them like they need the privacy to get dressed, they could at least not take an hour like they ARE get fancied up.’ And yet still I wait for my turn.
