“So you take this brush and use it to coat the paper with the solution. After that, its just a matter of getting the plexiglass back in place.” The assistant said to Okibi as he handed her a thickly bristled brush that resembled a broom and gestured at a vat of solution. Okibi looked from the broom-brush to the young man, seeming slightly out of her element.
This was her first mission as a freshly graduated genin, and she was tasked with seeing to the proper placement of an advertisement in the form of a billboard, situated high above the Grand Palais. Okibi glanced over the side of the tall building. It wasn’t the height that bothered her, but rather, the thought of… messing up. She’d never done anything like this before, and the young male assistant wasn’t being much help in the way of explanations. He was basically handing her the tools and telling her to get to it. Did they want their pricey billboard to come out badly?
Well, she wouldn’t be blamed if that were the case.
The young man asked if she needed anything else, and after giving him a shake of her head, he left. Okibi looked sideways at Seven, her canine companion, who was always with her. “Well… we do this then.” Although he wouldn’t actually be doing anything to help her, besides offering moral support. He didn’t have the ability to mold chakra, so he wouldn’t be of any help when it came to the billboard. The cursed thing just had to be hanging over the side of the damned building. With a sigh, Okibi dipped the large broom-brush in the vat of glue stuff, and let the excess drip off. She then walked over the edge of the building and made her way down the side, making sure she had enough chakra in her feet to hold herself up. When she situated herself beside the large billboard she brushed on the first coat of glue and held her hand up.
“Hand Okibi first sheet.” She said to Seven. Perhaps he could be of some help after all. The dog did as she said and gingerly took one of the advertisements sheets into his teeth before handing it to her. As accurately as the girl could, she placed it over the spread solution, and then gave it another coat. She repeated this process, putting the advertisement together like a puzzle. She took breaks in between to re-wet her brush and to get something to drink, but before long, she had all the panels of advertisement up and drying. Sadly, some of them were a smidge off center, or tilted, but what was expected of a teenager that didn’t really know what she was doing? Okibi thought it looked pretty damn good.
With a mighty leap, Okibi sailed to the adjascent building clung to the side of it so she could examine her work. With a wry smile, she read it out loud. “Join us every Sunday! Our newly refurbished buffet will have your mouth watering. Niku’s Meat Bonanza.” Perhaps she would tell Shiraha of this when she got home. He would probably get a kick out of it.
Jumping back over, Okibi slapped Seven on the shoulder and walked over to the large sheet of plexiglass leaning against the wall. Smoke spread around the large dog as he turned into his human form and joined her. Together, they hefted the fairly heavy shatter proof glass and made way with it over to the buildings edge. They lined it up with the slats on the side of the billboard and carefully slid it into place. Stepping away, Okibi wiped the glistening sweat from her brow and sighed. Job finished.
