Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

History: Agata Haruka was born into a relatively poor family in a small village of the water country. Her father worked as a merchant and her brother was his apprentice. Her mother was a housewife who helped organize many community events. From the time Haruka was young her brother noticed that she had a unique way of interacting with her environment. She would care for hurt animals in secret, nursing them back to health. This included animals that would scare almost any normal little girl, such as serpents or a bear. It wasn't long until her parents also noticed the behaviors, and although her mother was somewhat disturbed about the situation, her father saw potential. He encouraged Haruka's eccentricities, even bringing her to safaris where she nursed the animals back to health. Soon her father had her practice nursing his arthritis, and when she turned 7 he sent her to Kirigakure to attend the Shinobi Academy. There, young Haruka really started to prosper, delving deep into the secrets of medical ninjustu, and learning basic non-elemental jutsu as well until her graduation at age 9. For the next 3 years she was in a squad and performed the medical role, after opting out of becoming an actual medical branch ninja. On one of her missions, which was to be an assistant to a jounin teacher, she discovered a love for passing on knowledge to growing minds. She decided then to devote the early part of her adult life to teaching others. Upon gaining the rank of Chuunin just after her 13th birthday, she became able to teach academy students classes. However, she took a year break to continue to develop her own skills, so that she would have some experience to share with her students.

Personality: Haruka's character is notably polite yet candid. She enjoys company of others, and her main interest outside of shinobi pursuits is Marine Biology. She has a mild temper, and is timid by nature. She cares deeply for everyone, and would sacrifice anything for her friends. She likes to study, and she likes to teach. Knowledge to her is the most valuable commodity, and should be cherished yet given freely to those willing to respect it.

Re: Agata Haruka - Chuunin

{REVENANT KINJUTSU OBTAINED: RP}

The sun was coming up; Haruka had gotten a bit careless... She poked her head out of the crevice in the massive tree, looking left then right. The special... 'research' of hers was so time consuming. But she couldn't help to spend all that time on it. It was just too fascinating. She slipped out of the crevice and ventured into the rising sun's light, pulling the sleeves of her jacket down her arms. She was very sore as she walked towards the academy, to resume grading papers of her students. Students... The future of generation of shinobi. Really they were her generation too, as she was only 14, but had become a genin while her peers remained students, and then even ranked to a chuunin and now taught her old peers. She smiled under her mask at the thought of her speedy ascension through the ranks of Kirigakure seemed so unimportant lately. What with the developments she was making on this new research...

These revelations would not have been possible if it weren't for a strange tree and it's terrifying contents. Months ago, right after she had begun teaching at the academy, she had been studying localized herbs and their uses in medicinal teaching when she stumbled upon a massive tree, that was almost entirely hollowed out. Upon uncovering the entryway behind a large kingsfoil plant, she found the inside stuffed with medical supplies. They didn't catch her attention at first though. It was a fox mask that caught her attention so abruptly, staring as if it could see through her. She froze for several moments. An Anbu supply depot? But no... Sadly not. For this place, this hidden alcove in the forests of kirigakure stunk. An odor of decay, as she recognized it, told her that this anbu, whoever they had been at one time, was now just a forgotten corpse in a forgotten medical station of some sort.

She left the alcove, scared to investigate further at the time, but something told her to hide it again so that it wouldn't be found by anyone else, with luck... What sort of luck would that be? Should she report to her superiors that she found a dead anbu inside a strange tree? Something about the situation stopped her from doing that, at least. And as the days went by she taught her classes as she was supposed to; but always with the thought of the alcove and its decaying resident seeded in the depths of her mind. Soon she found herself drawing the scene, and recreating it over and over in her mind. Something about it bothered her, shook her up like it shouldn't have. She was a chuunin shinobi... Yet wouldn't that mean her duty was to alert her superiors to a dead anbu? Still she held it back, along with her growing personal intrigue. No... This something was there specifically for her. She was meant to find it. It was there because of her. She had to go back.

And so she did... She returned to the alcove, the following day. This time, she was wary of anyone who might be watching her. She even brought a gathering basket to collect herbs. Just like last time. but at the bottom of the basket were tools, a notepad, and pencils. After wondering and meandering through the forest avoiding the great tree, passing it many times but never showing it any peculiar attention, she slipped into its entrance behind the huge kingsfoil plant carefully letting it fold back up. She examined the area again, noting that nothing had changed since she had last been here. It still smelled gruesomely of deteriorating flesh. She moved closer and set her basket down. "Best to start with seeing the cadaver's face. Perhaps it is still identifiable." She reached forward, her hands shaking; not from fear of the prospect of what was beneath, but from excitement at finally uncovering some truths from this hidden trove. She pulled the mask off of the face and set it in the dirt. The face was male, and frozen in its last moments, which were of terror. The skin was loose and pallid in complexion, and the eyes were dried out and glazed. She turned the mask over, and there was evidence of blood splatter on the inside. she looked at his chest. It was obvious how he died. Something punctured him in such a way that it left a gaping hole big enough for Haruka to put her hand inside.

After putting on some gloves, that is exactly what she did, flaying his sternum open with her surgical blade, pulling his ribs apart to peer into his chest cavity. The smell was ferocious but for some reason, Haruka simply basked in it. This smell... Somehow it seemed familiar. Like a smell she should be used to. Like a smell she almost cherished. Haruka was drawn to it in some visceral way of which she couldn't explain the origin to. His heart and liver were both entirely missing. The remains of his other organs were splayed apart from their natural resting places, and some cut open. She folded his chest cavity back and shook her head. "Whoever did this had an interesting hobby of collection, didn't he?" She removed the gloves and started going through the cadaver's jacket pouches and belt pouches. She found standard tools, like kunai and shuriken; she found rolls of paper unmarked. Or perhaps anbu only that she needed a chemical or a jutsu to unseal the secrets to. And then she found his liver in his belt pouch. Strange... Why would you rip it out and then put it in there? And there was his heart in the next belt pouch..

She continued going through the equipment and crates inside the alcove discovering more and more oddities inside the strange place; but the most odd, and certainly the most interesting thing she found was a scroll. It was very thick, and had several seals on it... But they were all broken. She slowly unraveled it, revealing the words "Forbidden Top Secret" and she stopped there... Reading further could not only change her life completely, but if she let the temptation that was clawing its way around her soul have its way, could endanger her and the village. Feeling caution slowly win its place on top in her inner-battle, she rolled the scroll back up and hid it back in its crate.

She left the cave leaving all of her research there as well, and returning with the basket and herbs. she stopped at a creek and bathed, not caring if anyone came upon her at this point. She had been where she wanted to go already, and was on her way back home. This exact behavior continued for several days. She often felt as if people were beginning to become suspicious of her behavior, so she started commenting on how she liked to have the alone time to plan her next lesson. In reality, she was pondering much more sinister things. She had fully dissected the corpse by now, and successfully sewn him together several times in several different ways, and was developing a special chakra-intuned tendril material slowly, using the secret scroll as a guideline. "Earth Grudge Fear" the scroll was called. It was an 'ultimate forbidden scroll' and she knew deep down that these experiments would probably condemn her if she was to be found out. But she ignored that nagging thought, justifying her work with the fact that she hadn't done anything to any living person.

Soon, the experimental surgeries started on herself. Very small things like the detachment of a toe and reattachment using these special tendrils. She could feel them connecting her. Strong as any bone, as flexible as any whip. They were wonderful. She started dressing differently to compensate for the scars. The tendrils could be seen, as they looked like stitches, when the wound was big enough, so she had to cover them from her peers and students. At 14, she was stepping across the line from human to... Something else. The deeper into darkness this scroll lead her, the less akin to her peers she felt. She didn't feel so human anymore, and even began to contemplate killing someone to try one of the ultimate techniques of the scroll. She sighed thinking about this prospect. To complete the process she was working on... Her body was already full of the tendrils. She had altered herself so much that she hardly considered herself human any longer. But... She reminded herself always that she could use this forbidden jutsu to good ends too... Even if she was no longer quite human, she didn't have to be a monstrosity.

And so she began wearing her old clothes again, and when people noticed the scars she said, in what wasn't entirely untrue, that they were from training her medical jutsu via self mutilations. Though it was met with a bit of concern, and a bit more shock, it seemed to work. Eventually, she had stitching at every single joint in her body, and she began practicing her ability to manipulate the threads, lengthening her arm to extremely unnatural lengths, spreading her fingers. Life was certainly different now... Everything about her had basically changed. Now she just had to do what all super predators do. Not get caught by the prey who overpower and outnumber her while she hunts. And hunting is just what she planned on doing. She started trawling along the edges of the forests. She made it seem as though she was a wild animal, leaving claw marks in trees. She did this off and on for weeks and even found and stalked a lioness back to her den.

"It's time..." She breathed in slowly. Did she even have to breathe anymore? Wasn't it just some force of habit to breathe? She shook her head. "Stay focused... I complete the Earth Grudge Fear's coronation into immortality tonight. After tonight, everything would be better. She saw her walking towards the river of the forest alone. Something like an old sorrow or regret almost found its way into Haruka, but it was quickly displaced with hunger. A healthy girl, the same age as Haruka, alone. She stalked the girl for a kilometer and when the girl went to get water that is when she struck. "I'm sorry human, but I won't put your life force to waste, and I'll give your family closure too." Haruka wasn't sure why she was saying these things. The girl had been dead the instant Haruka landed next to her, her tendril strength tearing into the girl's back and pulling out the heart. Haruka had snapped her neck to kill her as painlessly as possible. "I may be a monster... But I'm not a hateful one." She then tore at the girls clothes with her fingers and drug her all the way to the lioness's den. Using her medical knowledge, she made it look like a standard lioness attack. Finally she looked to the heart beating in her hands.

Opening her mouth, Haruka felt it stretch unnaturally open like a snake's, as threads poured out and latched onto the heart in each of it's valves, pumping its life force slowly into her... She felt its beating sync up to the heart that was originally hers in her chest. She swallowed the heart into her torso and sighed, already feeling twice as... An indescribable feeling really. Vivid. More grounded to the world of the living. She noticed that tears were running down her cheeks. "OK... Maybe I'm still a bit human... Or maybe I am just a bit more human because of this second heart... Either way... Thank you, nameless girl. I'll take good care of you..." She then cleaned herself in the river; though at a location very far from the murder scene or lions den, and went back to her sacred treasure trove. She sat in there for many ours, extending herself and feeling the fresh vitality that two entire healthy young lives fed into her new form. As the sun rose, she made her routine trip back to the academy.

The only thing she couldn't completely come to terms with about this new life was that, even after taking that girls beating heart, she still felt hungry for more life force. She probably would always have to live with this hunger. And that right there was the key word. Live. She would always live. When she looked in the mirror, there was a terribly scared girl there with stitches just about everywhere. She talked to herself, empty in her soul. "When will the hunger win again? Who else will be fit to become part of my legend? Perhaps it's best that I try to find an assistant somehow. A hobby as well. Something to keep me from making a mistake. I am after all, virtually a serial killer. I'll heal people though. I'll use the lives I sacrifice towards helping humanity, weak though it may be. Tender... Precious." She shook her head, and started to pray to the soul of the dead girl, all the while staring at the terrifying visage of the girl she used to be.
