Name: Aikayume Misaki
Age: 12
Physical Description: Female
Lean and graceful , Misaki's 151.8 cm height is slightly under the average of girls her age. Likewise, she is rather a light-weight person with her 43 Kg, already worried about her looks and diet. Two distinctly vulpine ears perk up from her long, snow white hair which often carries the lingering scent of sandalwood incense typically burned in the temple where she resides. Her amber eyes seem to take in the world with an apathetic gaze, but the opposite is mostly true as she deeply cares for that which she considers hers and is otherwise rather quick to aid others in times of need. When not training or out to execute missions, the kitsune is commonly seen wearing the traditional attire of a shrine maiden or colourful kimono, preferably with matching parasol even though the sun is not exactly something to worry about in a subterranean village. At all times, the snow white tail identifying her as an Aikayume is proudly flaunted, while purple wisps of foxfire tend to manifest themselves mostly when confronted with injustice or demons.
Mental Description:
Pride is certainly thrice-fold the carnal sin of Misaki. Firstly as a shinobi in training belonging to the Sunagakure, secondly as an Aikayume taking deep care of her long hair and vulpine tail and thirdly as a devoted follower of Inari Okami, the great Fox Spirit. This pride often pushes her to look down upon those who are not of Sunagakure, nor suffer the hardships that tease the Land of Wind. While she can come over as a bigot, her faith and loyalty both to spirituality and the shinobi of her village make her look up with a certain reverence to the heroes of the past and present alike.
Misaki is otherwise rather kind of heart, not shy to help out a person in need, share a meal or lighten the burdens of the heart. Though rather calm and quiet spoken, the trickster spirit is present and manifests itself mostly in witty remarks, small pranks and general teasing, revealing hints of a reliance on intellect rather than a straight-forward approach. While evasive in both body and mind, she finds it almost demonically disgusting to lie, but is not a stranger in the arts of recolouring and sugarcoating the actual story.
Certainly, the growth from a young girl into a young woman is as important as the growth from Academy Student into a respectable shinobi of the village, but reaching power for powers' sake is not quite her cup of tea. Born spiritual and having seen the corruption within her aunt, Misaki has decided to become a 'purifier of the soul'. Combining traditional medical ninjutsu with genjutsu and the spiritual manifestation that comes with her Tsuchimikado bloodline, she thus aims to both restore and protect the mind and the soul from any possible taint.
History:
Born into the main branch, Misaki is the daughter of Akiko, the current Priestess of the Aikayume and younger sister of Azusa. Her mother was the shining example of pride, never lowering her chin even once and only wishing the best of qualities in every possible way. Fickle despite her age, the woman had always been hard to please but that didn't mean Misaki knew no love. Under the idea that her kid would be just like herself, she always encouraged a prideful attitude and strife for the finer things in life, backed by diligence and finesse. Growing up in the temple as her mother unexpectedly served as Priestess when Azusa was send in exile, Misaki had been in touch with spirituality since birth. To see her build up a strong devotion to a Fox Spirit throughout the years is thus not all too surprising, yet she is uncertain about following in her mother's footsteps by becoming the next Priestess herself.
Her father was 'just another guy'. Her mother found him on the streets, a dashing young merchant full of ambitions. Partially driven with the need to have a child, partially love-struck, her mother seduced the man and kept him for about two years before she drove him back out of her harem. Unlike the common occurrence to bring in the men into the clan, her mother found him interesting but not sufficiently worth to be kept as part of the clan. Being two year old, Misaki has no memory of her father and though her mother never mentioned a bad word about him, she did shelter Misaki sufficiently so as to never have met him.
Growing up without siblings, Misaki was fortunate enough to be given the full attention and materialism her mother could bring up. A good cozy room, good education, quality clothes... though 'rich' is a matter of perceptions, she certainly lacked nothing on terms of luxury and necessity. What her mother couldn't give, was often offered by other members of the family. In general, Misaki has a good bond with most of the family members, with her aunt Azusa being her favourite family member. Azusa was send in exile by the time Misaki was five, tainted by the corruption of a demon. The real reason for her exile remained unexplained to the five year old child, and only revealed by the time Misaki took her first steps into shinobi training. Having only good memories of Azusa, Misaki believes her aunt still holds a notion of the pure person she once was and has therefore made it her goal to become an iryo-nin of the body, heart and soul.
With the exepction of Azusa's exile, her youth has otherwise been rather uneventful, filled mostly with the education of etiquette, Suna lore and a variety of classes. That time has now come to an end as she follows in the footsteps of many Aikayume and takes her first steps towards becoming a new Sunan kunoichi. One with a noble goal to boot.
