Harumi scanned the open area for the the tallest electrical pole, she needed the tallest for this part of her training. She quickly found it and sat down her bag at it's base. Opening the bag revealed a set of differing kunai and even a throwing axe; she began to prepare her assorted weapons by setting them in a very specific order. Once she readied herself to her liking, she went to work. This portion of her training involved using the kunai she'd brought as a step ladder, unorthodox, but effective. The routine made her focus her aim so that the kunai would sink in deep enough to stand on, and precisely in the pattern she needed to get to the top.
"Okay, hardest part is the first step..." she said to herself, a sort of personal pep talk.
She steadied her breathing and imagined the kunai hitting it's mark, with a satisfying *Thunk*. The kunai pierced the wood of pole, but even from this distance Harumi could tell it wasn't deep enough to stand on. She tried again, still no difference, all twenty kunai, and not one would even pierce to the middle.
"Dammit, I can't... *pant*...even get them...*pant*...deep enough" she huffed exhausted from the effort of the constant throwing and retrieving of the kunai.
This wasn't going to work, no matter how determined she was, her physical strength was a barrier she'd yet to overcome. She instead decided to try setting up small paper targets around the clearing and up some poles a little ways. She tried running while throwing and jumping while throwing, she practiced until her sides screamed in protest. She took a moment to breathe.
"I better take a small break then...*pant*" she wheezed through gasps for air.
