It was amazing how different the air smelled when you were getting close to home after being gone for so long. It had been an uneventful trip home, for which Manzo was happy. He normally would have been happy to find someone silly enough to try and cause trouble, but Manzo had to many rumors about thing that had changed and he wanted to find out the lay of the land before dealing with and problems if he could.

A couple of weeks later and Kazuki would finally reach the Fire Country. Years had passed since he had last been found walking those lands, the last time he had done so had been in a very dark time for him and for the rest of the shinobis of Konohagakure. Leaf had fallen to the samurai army of the Fire Daimyo, every living and able fought back against such invasion, but once the red rain kinjutsu started, they became powerless to actually mount a proper defense and were all forced to relocate. Most of the shinobi had flocked toward the Earth Country, more concretely to Tsuchigakure, whose Kage had opened up the doors of its Hidden Village to all survivors. After a troubling trip, the Senju Overlord also entered Stone but his stay was brief. After traveling to Kumogakure, the White Wolf would eventually make a permanent home out of Sunagakure, where he and the remnants of his clan were welcomed with open arms by the Toraono clan and Suna's Steward. After working to gain the Village's trust, the Shadow Sword was appointed Sennin.

It was due to his status as Sennin that he made a meeting between Takeshi and Sousuke possible and it was why he had been named Ambassador. Thanks to this new title and position, he was taking a trip to memory lane to sign the peace deal of and cement the relationship between Leaf and Sand. Reaper did not talk much during their journey. His mind almost always focused with thoughts about Suna's safety and about what he was going to find once he reached Konohagakure's gates. He had been a very poor companion to Manzo, but the Leaf ANBU was also doing a job. "I did not expect to see everything virtually the same, after how we were forced to leave Konohagakure." he would eventually note, thus finally breaking the silence.
