Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The first bear seemed to arrive in a relatively timely manner. Although it had taken a nap, it had felt that the sooner it was done with its job the faster it would be on with its life. Once someone retrieved the cask of booze from around his neck, well, they'd release the bear from service and who knows what would happen then. Poor bear. Just a patsy. Oh well. That was life for you. The bear would linger around wherever it was it felt it needed to linger, just waiting for contact.

Once removed, the note would read as follows:
Congratulations! You've received an honorary cask of alcohol and an invitation to attend Sarunishi's Black Market Emporium known as ACE. Luckily for you, all known villages have been sent an invitation and you don't want them beating you to the grand prize! What's the grand prize? Well, the opportunity to do business of course! In a world such as this, business is what makes the world go round. But hey, why should you attend savvy customer? Well, if you don't and they do you just might end up dead and you don't want that! Why would you want that? You don't because you're savvy as hell! So swing on by and make me an offer. After all, you want to survive don't you?

Of course, the cask of booze was another story. If someone decided to drink that, well.
It's poison. Downright, delicious poison of the highest calibre! You want that in your system you dingus. THAT YOU DO!

This really was a rather strange predicament. He wasn't one to patrol the gates even if his job was pretty much that. Being the silent guardian and observing the gates so nothing bad happened. Well he probably just felt responsible for having to actually break through the gates so that he got home. It really wasn't something he was proud of. Not in the slightest so there he was. Sitting ontop of one of the watchtowers, where he couldn't really be seen. Just waiting, waiting for something to actually happen something to appear. Someone to do something! This, this was ridiculously boring! If he didn't have his mask on people could see how bored he was by just looking at him, but that wasn't an option as he was in full gear right now. Going to the gates again so soon without hiding his face was something he wasn't stupid enough to do. Come on now how simple do you have to be to do that....

And there it was! Something was actually heading towards the gates! Wait...was that a black bear? What was it doing there? Huh?

Takehiko quickly jumped down and intercepted the creature, taking the letter and cask from its' neck before letting it go and climbing back up to his spot. This time the gate guards didn't go after him, but hey it was a bit ironic after all he was the guard now.

I watched from my post, questioning how on earth a bear was trained to deliver a message in such a manner. The bears that I had encountered had been nothing but troublesome. But Takehiko approached it with ease and took what it had brought and returned to where he was keeping watch on the gates. Curiosity got the better of myself and I made my way over to him. "What do you have there, letter from some family out in the country?" I asked, simply wondering why a message was sent by bear. It was either really important...or...something else? Course the ANBU were full of mysteries. But while on gate duty, I had the authority.

Takehiko sat back down on his spot and slightly adjusted his mask, so that he could more easily read from his current position. He quickly read the message once then went over it again, but it still confused him. This was quite possibly the weirdest message he had ever seen his entire life. A black market advertising itself so actively? What had happened to this world? And what was it that cask? It was all just too puzzling. The AiT carefully pulled his mask up, making sure nobody could see his face at that angle and took a carefull wiff of the contents. As soon as he did he pulled it away from his face, sealing it as fast as his hands could plug the cork back in.

'Interesting. I wasn't really expecting that.' His thoughts had just plain turned into sarcasm at this point. Who would have thought some random stranger would send a cast full of Serpent's blood. If Take had been some idiot, who doesn't know anything about poisons he'd have thought there would be absolutely nothing there, but anbu weren't that simple to poison. There was just a small difference in smell an untrained nose wouldn't notice, especially when mixed in like this. It was rather good he was the one who retrieved this rather than some stupid guard, who could have possibly ingested the deadly liquid.

"Apparently a black market is opening." Takehiko replied to his current colleagues' question in his monotone voice. He probably wouldn't believe him though, so it might be a better idea to just show him. After all who would believe someone just sent out an invitation about a ''black market'' just like that. The idea itself was absolutely preposterous. A sigh escaped his lips as he pulled his mask down once more and jumped off of the roof to the platforms just below behind his colleague. "Here." He said quietly and handed him the note, keeping the cask by his side and his crimson Rinnegan focused on Zaku.

The bear just growled and swatted at the air before departing the way it came. The growl was low and guttural as the harness on the bear snapped and fell to the ground. Written on the inside of it would be the symbol for Tsuchi in a seemingly bright black. If one were to get too close to it at this point, it would explode into countless fireworks before burning away into little more than dust. The fireworks would then create a similar symbol in their small area, startling the bear further to cause it to run even faster than its general cadence would allow.

Taking the message in hand I gave it a quick, but thorough read. I smirked. It seemed like nonsense. Unless of course that bear had some form of communication with who sent it and could let the individual know that it was Takehiko who had retrieved it. "Well that's odd isn't it. It's either you, or we, go to this ACE place. Or we possibly die?" I said, a small bit of humor finding it's way into my voice. "Why would someone advertise a market like this?" I then questioned rhetorically and looked at the ANBU's mask. "Looks like something we could investigate yeah? Where is it located? How long do you think it would take to get there?"

Takehiko moved his gaze away from Zaku to the bear for a second just as it growled and the harness on its' back snapped off. This really was an interesting one and the more interesting part was the person who actually wrote the note. Firstly how did he manage to make a bear...a damn bear carry a message? That was just unheard off until now and secondly who would advertise like that? Take grinned behind his mask and put a hand up before the other guard could really say anything. "Hold that thought" He said in the same monotone and quickly jumped off of the wall yet again, quickly sliding down it.

The bear ran off before he could get to it, but his actual object of interest was still there. There was something written inside of it, but he couldn't quite read it. The AiT approached it very carefully and quickly took out one of his knives, pulling his sleeve up. What were you expecting him to carry around a piece of paper and a pen? Things don't really work like that. He had to improvise. Takehiko finally got close enough to see the symbol, which was written on it and just as he managed to ''record'' it on his hand the thing went up in a barrage of fireworks. The explosion sent him flying backwards and completely singed his mask, which was now covered in black rather than the iconic white. This really wasn't something he wanted anyone to have seen, but there was no way around it.

He got up and dusted himself off, clearly not amused at the prank, which had just been pulled on him. A sigh escaped his lips and he quickly climbed up to his colleague yet again. "Not a word about that. Not to anyone." Take told him with a very slight hint of anger in his monotone. He held out his hand and took the letter back into his hand. "Whatever it is I need to report it and deal accordingly. Alone." Takehiko stated, completely ignoring the questions Zaku was asking. He didn't care about that at all it was just a mystery that had intrigued him. The man quickly ran through the series of handseals and focused on the note. It really was hard to find any large traces of chakra on the paper and now that the harness exploded there was nothing else to really look at apart from the cask. (Chakra sense used) Much to his regret he barely felt anything. It was so weak it could just easily have been his imagination. Where exactly the sender was he had no idea, but it wouldn't be hard to actually find him once he got nearer. Well or at least so he thought. There was no real telling how hard it would be to track him down or how long it would take. Using an object such as this pretty much meant the technique failed, but there really was nothing else he could use. Normally something which was quite close to the person was needed in order to work in the first place and well he didn't really have that. Any chakra he felt was so little and faint it could easily have been Zakus for all Take knew. This really was tickling his interest.

"I will go show this to the Raikage. Let's go Kuro" He said and looked up at the roof where a figure appeared out of the shadows. It was a woman wearing full anbu gear. She quickly jumped down next to them and now it was quite clear she was a little shorter, but that wasn't what made her interesting. No it was the very long white hair and the fluffy white belt she was wearing. You'd think ANBU wouldn't wear accessories, but yet there it was, sticking out like a sore thumb. "Now then good luck with the watch." Takehiko said and the pair jumped off the wall towards the village.

"Interesting man." I said, looking back over to my bird in the tower. I wonder what was going to be for lunch today. Katsu said he was going to surprise me with some new bento box he found. That could either mean I was going to try his cooking, or he actually did find a new shop nearby. Oh well.
