General Description:
Ame Chokorēto (she/her), or Choko for short among her friends, is five feet tall and has blue-green eyes with black hair. She has pale white skin. When she isn't working as an MiT, she is dressed in the latest fashions. She wears dresses in the Autumn and Winter months. During the warmer Spring and Summer months she prefers skirts and blouses. Her clothing is often adorned with a stylized chocolate bar with a snake wrapped around it - her family's crest.
She was assigned male at birth but identifies her gender as female. She began to identify as female around her tenth birthday. While she has discussed the possibility of surgery or drugs to ensure her body image reflects her chosen gender, she has put either off for now. Fortunately for her she has not yet reached puberty, but she thinks about her gender identity often. In recent months she has experienced severe anxiety related to the topic.
Personality wise, she is high on conscientiousness and agreeableness; i.e. she is often the 'mother' in the friend group. This stems partly from starting work from a young age and being the oldest sibling of four. Due to her personality she was drawn towards becoming an MiT. She is regularly praised for her bedside manner from patients.
The dark side of her personality type is that she is adverse to direct physical fighting or other confrontations. A good quality for a medic, but a poor quality for someone living in a military state. She struggled to graduate from the Shinobi academy and had to repeat the final examination several times. She was at the top of her class in terms of book knowledge, but fared poorly in applied settings that involved confrontation with others. She ultimately decided on the medical path as a means to serve the village whilst being able to avoid having to directly harm others.
Although she is adverse from direct confrontation with others, she is known for being passive aggressive and holding grudges. During her academy years she was harassed by another girl. Instead of direct retaliation she retaliated by 'mildly' poisoning the other girl's lunches. After a week, the other girl found her skin dyed violet and found herself rounder. Almost like a blueberry... Choko's classmates became hesitant of eating any of her baked goods after that incident.
On her free time she enjoys baking and gardening. She started gardening as a means to acquire ingredients for her baking. As a member of the Ame family, spelled using the characters for 'Candy', Choko was taught how to bake sweets from a young age. The Ame family is renowned for the sweet tasting medicine they produce. Within her family Choko is praised for her chocolate flavored medicine, especially her chocolate cough syrup. As the blueberry incident showed though, Choko is more than capable of using her skill set for poisons instead of medicine. The difference between the two is often semantic for a skilled medical shinobi after all...

Chokorēto (she/her) is the heir of the Ame family. The Ame family - spelled with the characters for candy - is an upper middle class family known for their candy themed medicine. The family's products are especially popular among children.
Family lore claims that the family originated from a land in the north where golden maple syrup flowed in the rivers and the buildings were made of dark chocolate bricks. No such candy land likely ever existed, but this hasn't stopped the family from using the mythical candy land for marketing purposes.
Chokorēto is the eldest grandchild in the family. The current head of the family, her grandmother, is elderly and Chokorēto is expected to take over when she comes of age. Chokorēto's mother was removed from the line of succession for marrying a member of the family's arch rivals - the Harapenyo - famed for their spicy products. Chokorēto was only allowed to become the heir of the Ame family after swearing to forsake her Harapenyo ancestry and devoting herself to destroying their rival business. Extended family dinners tend to be... Spicy.
By all accounts Choko has a healthy and loving relationship with her younger siblings, even those who have decided to align themselves with her father's side of the family.
Choko graduated from the shinobi academy relatively late. She often did poorly in applied tests involving direct confrontation with others. Her time at the academy was not however wasted as it gave her time to develop her skills as an apothecary and put her on the pathway to becoming a medical shinobi.
During her academy years she began to identify as female despite being assigned male at birth. Initially her family thought that she was confused; they thought Chokorēto must have mistakenly believed that only women could inherit the family business. As Choko herself explained, this was a deep misunderstanding. At a basic level "he" didn't feel like a "he", "he" felt like a "she". Eventually her family came around to accepting Choko as a "she", but she experienced some bullying about it from her classmates. This culminated in the blueberry incident, where she poisoned one of her school bullies and almost turned them into a human blueberry.
The academy wasn't happy about Choko poisoning a fellow student and she faced several months of punishment, but the incident did raise interest in Choko's apothecary skillset. Imagine if the girl's knowledge of drugs were applied for the benefit of the village. This all culminated in Choko being admitted to the medical corp's training program as an MiT.
Choko splits her time between preparing to inherit her family's business and studying to become a full fledged medical shinobi. She recently developed chocolate flavored cough drops. Rumor has it that she is on the verge of mastering a maple syrup flavored antibiotic. Some claim that she has even invented a strawberry flavored tonic to regrow hair.
She dreams of one day making medicine for the nobility of the country. Maybe even the Raikage. One day everyone will come to appreciate her sweete delights! Muhaha.
