(To calrify, if possible I would like this to be set before I went Inactive, which would be I would say a few weeks after the initial Cabal attack. I was told this wouldnt be an issue, though if it is for some reaosn ll adjust acordingly.)
Haru let out a soft sigh as he sat the Oracle library...first time since they moved it from the academy. It was a bit of a longer treck then usual but still, heh liked the place decor quite a bit. He could see some of the people setting up the whole oracle order working in the background,t hough they were as quiet as any librarian, not willing to interpret anyone. Which was a bit of a shame since it would be an unwelcomed intrusion... as he came here to once again face a family challenge. before he laid the infamous tome known as the Annal of the Ocnquerer...quite a name that was. Some would probably say it was pretentious, but he was sure the contents of the book could back up that claim quite well. After all, there weren't many tomes which were able of teaching someone a lounge by mere touch. Not that he would know
Harupia has had this problem for a few years now. It began when he visited with his parents right after his successful getting exam...then after the Chunin one...Jounin...and severl more ocasions. The resault was alwys the same...him staring at, in spite the passsge of thime, very beuatifully written and well-kept apges of caligrafy...whch ment nothing to him. At any point. No traces of understnading, even after holding and borwinsg the tome for what aomunted to at lest few hours.
Why was that? He could honestly say...he was native to the land, he's proven his worth well enough he'd imagined. But It kept eluding him. And it wasn't just from the book itself, as his parent's id try to impart him he knowledge...as illegal as it was. never directly, just using snippets of the language when he was around, but they "technically" did know...but in spite of that, and the large being able to be imparted in such a manner being recorded. he still couldn't get it.
He had quite a few drunken and sober conversations about the matter. maybe the book was losing its power? Maybe Haru was too much of s scatter brian to focus enough? Whatever it was, it didn't seem to impair his activity in the long run. there was enough shinobi who knew the language he could get the information he needed. Even made him a bit more of an asset some joked. and he laughed along, not really caring much...it stung to not be able to do something other could so easily, but where he failed he excelled quite above the others...
That was then. Now, he had a much more...somber outlook on himself. The Djinn, Megentica, the Cabal...especially that last thing... It seemed he wasn't as great of a Shinobi after all. And here he was trying to read the infernal book once again. Would it take pity on is the soul? Did he just come here to reaffirm his growing concerns about how well he as actually doing in trying to protect his village? Maybe...just maybe, after hearing some stories claiming the book was meant to show you what you truly needed, he decided to give it a shoot? What did he need? Hell if he knew. His body was in good shape after all the fights...his mind was more or less sound, his control over the elements as good as ever.So why couldn't he help feeling he failed, that he could do more|? That there would be, someday, an even greater threat, and if he was bearly able to manage now,w hat would happen in the future.
And so he silently sat there, staring at the books cover, not really sure what he was expecting...With a bit of a sigh, he opened the pages, started fliping them over slowly from he beginning. Again, he focused on the intricate designs of each letter, on how clear they were in spite of their age...he could only imagine what it was saying...the earliest development of Suna...Well, even before it was Suna, but humans were ruled over by the superior ancients. And how the human one day found someone to rally over, and to go against the ones controlling them. The people of Suna as a whole...and on a smaller scale. The Sunaku tribes. Sepereted by infighting, even in the face of a looming greter threat. But there was one among them, Naito, the one who united them under a single banner...a well known story...but even in his lifes story there have been a few blank pages, including him disparing for well over a year into the dessert. And once he returned, he had the strnght to overthroew the short sighted leaders of his on trive and to rose the Sunaku tribe into unity with all the othr man...No one ever knew where he went. It was one thing no one could ever coax any tale form him. All he would say is that his journey led him to discover his true connection to not only his land, but the very soil he was standing on. That during it he truly felt...
قلب الأرض.
The last part was uttered by Harupia himself, mouthing the words with ease, as if he always knew them. Well he id, he knew the tale. The Heart of the earth. قلب الأرض. He could say it in running as if it was his second language...maybe even as good as his native. And so he started at the Annals, now clearly being able to read all the history recorded in it. Which was a very welcome revelation...but there was something else that bother him. As some say, the book unlocks the knowledge needed to those who need it the most...so why did it direct to one of his families tales, bordering on legend. Just what could he gain by knowing more about the heart of the Earth?
