Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Another beautiful day was beginning to start as the birds were chirping, the temperature wasn't unbearable quite yet and the humidity was also low making a very cool, but still somewhat warm morning for the village. It was going to be a fantastic day as the descendant of Byakko was going to be getting another batch of students that would have to make it through his unconventional methods of teaching and hopefully graduate from the Academy in a reasonable amount of time. Earlier in the week, he had read up on the two students that he was going to teach today, but most of the knowledge that was absorbed from their files earlier this week had been lost due to his hectic life currently. Honestly, he had to be given some leeway considering he was patrolling Soon's Haven during the intervillage exams, was running the Medical Branch, was running the Academy and also was trying to raise a family. Could you say stress overload because I most certainly could?!

But, he was already at the Academy setting up for the day and was well-ahead of schedule. The room that he decided on was right as one walked into the Academy and the set-up of the room was a basic classroom with desks, a board, and a pair of windows that were bringing in the bright sunlight on this early morning. Hopefully, the students would all show up on time and be prepared to learn unlike his last class where one of the students fell asleep during his lecture and when he wasn't asleep was trying to pick a fight with another student. Man, he needed a good pair of students to come today prepared to learn and to not be slackers. Slackers did not sit well with the demigod of the Byakko Clan; it was one thing to struggle learning the material, but it was another to choose not to focus or even try to grasp the exercise or knowledge being taught. But, children would be children and they were simply lucky that he wasn't raising them or they would not be having a fun time of it.

When the children arrived, they would see a man dressed in a white medical robe bearing the village and his clan's emblem on the left and right sleeve respectively. He was wearing his clan's necklace which was hidden along with much of his appearance since the robe covered nearly all of his body. He was sitting in the front of the room with his eyes closed meditating like he often did prior to teaching or anything that required a lot of patience and time for him. He obviously would hear them coming in though as his feline ears would be able to hear footsteps quicker than the average human ear, but he would not react to anyone unless he was touched, sensed something or knew that both students were in the room. The waiting game would begin.

Ryuga, as usual, had decided that sleeping in would be a good idea. However he found it quite difficult to sleep with the sun shining in what seemed to him was only his eyes. He pulled up his blanket and curled up, trying to ignore the sun. His basil colored eyes quickly sprung open.

"I'M GONNA BE LATE!!!"

Ryuga got up and rushed to dress. He put on his black undershirt, along with his smaller and looser green shirt. He put on his thin black leggings, then his blue jean-ish pants that were torn from the lower thigh to just below his knee. He tied an orange half skirt type garment with a belt and tied on his homemade shin guards with red bandages. He then wrapped the same red bandages from his palm to his elbow, completely covering both forearms. He put on his long black scarf and tied his red Sunagakure headband around his head, with hair covering it from the front. He slipped on black sandals and went off towards the front door after having said goodbye to his family.

"Someone could have at least woken me up..."

He muttered under his breath as he close the door and started running off towards the academy, his scarf flailing about behind him.

A deep breath filled Kichiru's lungs to capacity with Sunagakure's crisp air. Seemed so odd to him that a day could be so utterly beautiful and serene after the events that took place only the night before. It had been hard for him to sleep, as was apparent by the bags under his eyes. He still managed to smile and nod toward every person he encountered on his walk towards the grand Shinobi Complex, which is one of the few remnants of the subterranean section of the village he was born into. He had only recently been able to finally leave and explore the expanses of what his people had called home, and he had fallen in love with it all. The stories of the greatest of heroes and villains that Sunagakure had to offer, each and every one of them sending him into a myriad of fantasies and dreams. He was hopeful that one day his descendants would be able to walk into the great library of Sunagakure and read about the wondrous hero Kichiru of the Maki family. He wondered what great deeds he would be known for. Perhaps he would rise to a great position of power within the village? Or would he save it from destruction? Or maybe he would be responsible for saving the life of one of Sunagakure's most beloved leader?

“To kill or be killed” were the words that man had spoken to him the night before, just after he had driven a kunai knife deep into the hand of the businessman who Kichiru had almost watched die. What would have happened if he hadn't have been there that night? If he hadn't chosen Toyoda as his target... his target that he simply wanted to greet and get to know. He seemed like a nice enough man, though it was clear that he made many mistakes in his life. It was right to save him. Wasn't it?

“Protect or be protected... All you can do is keep them there and fight for them everyday.” The words of the man who had seemed to appear out of thin air, as if he was sent by some divine entity to make sure that life was not taken on that day. His words are what resonated most to Kichiru. If not for him, he wouldn't be able to keep his smile. It would have been stripped away from him as fast as the life would have drained out of the bleeding businessman's being. But it hadn't, and he would keep smiling. He would do everything to protect those he cared about, and be fair and just to those who did wrong. Perhaps, in the end, neither of the men were wrong. Kichiru didn't like the idea of it, but he knew that one day, hopefully far away, he might have to make the decision: To take a life in order to save another? What would he do?

Thankfully, the only thing he had to do now was open the door. It swung open to quite the peculiar sight, as he cautiously took a few steps in, bowed his head to who he assumed would be leading today's class, and said “Good morning sensei!” with a large smile. A few moments of silence would pass in confusion. The white medical robes that donned who was assuredly going to be his new teacher reminded him fondly of his late sister, who had worked day in and day out at the old medical center, which had now been destroyed and rebuilt.

It took him a few moments to shake himself out of that line of thought. While he had been proud of his sister and integral to lifting the spirits of his family, he still missed her dearly and thought about her every single day since her passing. Instead, he decided to simply take a seat, not wanting to disturb the man, as Kichiru had begun to realize that it appeared he was in some sort of meditative trance. It might be rude to approach him, and he certainly didn't want to upset his teacher on his very first day at the academy!

Today is the first step on my way to being a real ninja. I'm going to make you proud mom, dad, and most of all you Kasumi.

After a long session of running nervously, Ryuga could start to make out the outline of the academy in the distance. As he reached the building, he stopped for a moment to catch his breath. He clapped his hands on his knees as he bent down and panted. He then continued running to the building, and eventually inside of the building. He hurried to his class and slowed down as he saw the already opened door.

"This must be it... I wonder if the other students will be any fun... Or at least the teacher..."

He looked inside and stood there for a moment, not sure whether or not to believe his eyes. He stepped inside slowly and looked around, waving to the whom he imagined must be another student with a smile.

The elder shinobi of the Medical Branch would only be able to get a quick meditation before the first of the two student would walk into the room. This first child would seem to be pretty energetic for the class as he would say good morning to Kyuji quite vocally, but no movement from the teacher. Awkward situation if you were a student, that was sure, but when you were a former hermit in Stone and still a religious individual who practiced his new religion daily, it wasn't awkward at all for him. Still, he would hear the first student sit down in his seat with a long drawn out silence following that. It would feel like another lifetime in some senses waiting for the other student, but Kyuji hadn't been waiting too much attention. Eventually, the other student would come into the room as well which made Kyuji's ears perk up as they were both finally here. He would wait momentarily to see what would occur between the two students, but when there seemed to be nothing, he would open his mouth and say politely: "Please sit down. You are not late, but we are burning daylight that we could be using for your education!"

His eyes would then open revealing his gorgeous eyes that emitted a golden hue at the two children as he would rise from his position and smile at them. His arms would then cross after he closed the door to the room. The air condition in the room would begin in the room as it must've finally gotten hot enough outside to prompt it to start. It felt amazing to Kyuji as he would look at the two children that were vastly different, but still quite similar. They didn't look like they could handle being shinobi, but give the descendant of Byakko some time and he would make a shinobi out of them all. But, it was proper to introduce one another and with this, he would introduce himself: "Good morning, Class. I am Byakko Kyuji and the current headmaster of the Academy and the head of the Medical Council meaning I am running the Medical Branch. I hope that you two are ready to learn and will learn much from me. But before we begin learning, I have a few questions for you! What is your name? Why do you want to become a shinobi and what makes you so much different than anyone else that ever came through this academy?" Yep, Kyuji was trying to be a hardass already.

[OOC: We will get into the learning next post. Also, I am using the "darker" theme so please plan accordingly with your posts meaning the font color if you are changing the color for thinking or talking. Please and thank you!]

Ryuga sat down and took a deep breath before answering. He was starting to get extremely nervous and stood up again.

"My name is Ryuga Hanabusa, and I'm happy to be here. I want to become shinobi to show what I'm made of. I've been underestimated way too many times to take it lying down. Granted I can't do much right now... That's besides the point. I don't think I'm very different from the others, but I'm sure I've got something in store that's a bit special. Just a guess though."

Smiled brightly and sat down, on the inside he was slightly annoyed. He wanted to learn absolutely everything in the least amount of time possible, he was a bit more than eager.

Kichiru smiled as he saw his fellow student enter the room, returning the wave as friendly as was natural for him, though he hesitated to say anything in greetings in fear of disturbing their new teacher while he was deep in meditation. He hadn't seen anyone so absolutely focused before, except perhaps the night that his family received the news of the passing of his elder sister. That night, Kichiru had walked in to witness his father simply staring out of their window. There were no tears, no cries of anguish or anger, simply a blank visage as he stared out to the artificially lit streets.

His thoughts were stopped in an instant as their teacher instantly perked up moments after the second student entered the room. Either he hadn't been in as deep a meditation as Kichiru had originally thought, or he was hyper-aware, even in his most meditative of states. His smile returned to his fair-skinned face as he nodded towards his fellow student as they both were seated. Within a minute or so the air conditioner had kicked in, sending a pleasant breeze through the room just as the temperature had begin to reach an uncomfortable height. Of course, as residents of Sunagakure they were absolutely not strangers to the desert heat, especially now that the village had regained access to the desert expanses surrounding the hidden village, though that didn't mean it still wasn't a pleasant relief.

The boy next to him, Ryuga Hanabusa, spoke first. It seemed his goals were to be recognized, to be respected as a strong individual and as a worthwhile shinobi by all those around him. Those were respectable goals, and Kichiru was certain if they both trained with extreme diligence they could both become shinobi worthy of respect.

The respect Kichiru desired, however, was on a slightly different scale. He smiled towards Hanabusa for a moment before standing up from hims seat himself “Greetings Sensei, and to you as well Hanabusa. My name is Maki Kichiru. I want to become a shinobi so that I can help people. It sounds pretty simple, but my sister used to work at the medical complex. She wasn't necessarily the strongest, but she was brave and she was proud to do what she did. My dream is to be like her, and to be like the heroes of Sunagakure that I read about. I don't want to be recognized for being the most powerful, or the most fearsome; I want to be recognized for saving people. Not how many 'targets' I eliminated, but how many lives I helped continue to exist.” The boy took a deep breath before continuing, “ I don't think I'm necessarily any better than any person who has comes through these halls. I haven't had extensive training or had a kunai knife placed in my hand after birth. I had a loving family who treated me as well as I could have ever dreamed. If anything sets me apart from my fellow students, maybe it is my desire to make sure that Sunagakure stays a place that I can be proud of. A place where it is safe for my mother and father to live the rest of their lives together happily. I am proud to be of this village, and I want to show everyone else in this world what amazing things a shinobi of Sunagakure is capable of. Thank you.”

He hoped he didn't sound too ambitious or naive, especially seeing as how their teacher was directly involved in the career of saving lives himself. Would he think the child didn't have it in him to continue on such a path?

Moments after taking his seat, Kichiru shot up once again, his eyes locked towards their new teacher, Byakko Kyuji. “Kyuji-Sensei, why did you want to be a shinobi?”

As Ryuga was hearing the miniature speech, he had started to remember his own sister. He pushed away the thought after he heard the question his fellow student had asked. His eyes focused themselves on Kichiru, and then to their new sensei. They lingered there for a moment before he looked down to his own hands.

That's a long shot of a question if I've ever heard one...

Ryuga thought these words as he was far too terrified to speak them. He didn't want to intervene on such an important subject. He eyes lingered on his hands and then settled on their sensei.

The older male in the room would listen closely to each student's introduction to the class. The first boy would introduce himself as Ryuga Hanabusa and stated that he wasn't much different than anyone else that came through these halls, but he felt like he had something special that he hadn't unlocked quite yet which he would be correct considering he was just an academy student. As for his reasoning on why he wanted to be a shinobi, it was a valid reason to have and Kyuji couldn't help but nod in agreement to that statement. This kid was going to be just fine once he was seasoned a little and had his feet a little wet. As for the other student, he would rise from his seat as well to give respect it appeared to Kyuji as he began introducing himself. This child was going by the name of Maki Kichiru and he wanted to become a shinobi for the simple fact of helping people and following moreorless in his sister's footsteps along with trying to be like the heroes of Sunagakure that he read about. He would finish his statement by saying he wasn't special either like Hanabusa, but he had a strong will to keep the village a place that he could be proud of. He then seemed to be finished introducing himself finally and Kyuji was about to respond, but the child sprung up again and asked him why he wanted to be a shinobi. "Well, this is intriguing to say the least. I didn't think I would have to respond to a question about why I wanted to be a shinobi...interesting." He would think as the child remained standing for some odd reason, probably waiting for a reason.

But, it most certainly was going to be an earful for them if he explained why but since he was asked so nicely, he would entertain the question. But first, he needed to respond to them regarding their introductions. A smile was on his face as he began to address them: "Pleasure to meet you, Ryuga Hanabusa and Maki Kichiru. You both have very interesting perspectives on why you want to be shinobi and I am sure there is a lot more that you will discover as you grow up and advance through the academy. I know that you both have vast potential just waiting to be unleashed inside of you. I am pleased with what I am hearing and it sounds like you already are deciding on joining the Medical Branch after you graduate from the Academy, Kichiru. So, where do you want to work after you graduate, Hanbusa? Also, Kichiru, please sit down...neither of you need to stand to address me as I am not someone who let's their position go to their head."

He would then take a quick pause by closing his eyes and taking a deep breath in and out before continuing. "As for your question on why I wanted to become a shinobi, Kichiru. It is a long story, but I will entertain you with it since you asked so nicely about it. You see, I am not actually from Sunagakure. I actually was born and raised in Iwagakure for most of my life and only recently came to Sunagakure after an incident occurred that forced me to leave so my view on being a shinobi is probably not going to be the same as yours. But anyways, let's begin....I wanted to be a shinobi to help people and to guide them through their lives so they could not worry about their death and question where they were going. You see, I use to be a hermit who lived in an abandoned mine-shaft in Earth Country and I practiced a forbidden religion along with my parents that forced us to live in those less than ideal conditions. But, I still worked in the Medical Branch in Stone and my main reason to be a shinobi is to help people which is why I am a medical shinobi here now. I know I am not the strongest or most prestigious member of this village, but I have to be respected because I had a rags to riches story and I am running this academy and the medical branch. Why did I choose to head the academy and the medical branch? Because, I simply want to help people and guide them...I am not always right in my views but I try my best to save as many souls as I can."

He would then pause again allowing himself to get situated on the desk in the front of the room. He would be doing this to allow the children some time to think about what he said and allow follow-up questions if need be. In either case when he was situated, he would begin speaking again: "If there are no more questions or concerns, I would like to begin teaching you two today."

[OOC: You guys are doing good, but try to push yourselves in your posts. I mean that as don't do the bare minimum for posting length. If either of you need help, I will give you tips. Also, you do not have to post twice before me if you do not want to Ryuga. Typically, Roleplays on NC follow a posting order which would mean the order would be Akujin, Ryuga, then Kichiru and then Akujin again. I do not mind if either of you post out of order of each other, but I respectfully ask that you wait after posting after me until I post again. Lastly, I appreciate the timely responses to the thread, I try to keep things moving so I don't waste your time!

(Sorry about that. I'm still relatively new to this type of thing, so my posts are probably going to be poop. I can just never seem to find anything to include in my posts other than main actions. Others seem to find it a bit easier, but i am still a newbie. I think Kichiru is doing a much better job than I am. And as for the order thing, I'm used to posting without any order, but its easy enough to stay with it. I'll try to improve!)

Ryuga was very still and quiet through the entire thing since thoughts running through his mind as the man spoke. He looked up at his new sensei and thought. He hadn't ever thought of what he wanted to do after his training was completed. He was so focused on getting through his education, he had no plans for the future. He crossed his arms, allowing his half bandaged palms to rest on his bony shoulders. He took yet another deep breath before allowing his response to run through his brain.

"Just before we start, and believe me I'm eager to, I'd like to respond to what you asked me. I haven't a clue where I'd like to work. Though working in the medical branch doesn't sound too bad."

He looked around the room and his earlier stress and nervousness started fading away. His new mentor seemed much nicer than he was expecting before he had walked in the room. He blew upwards to move a hair away from his eye and nodded to himself.

A smile crossed Kichiru's bright young face as he nodded towards Kyuji “Yes, I want to be like my sister and be one of the greatest med-nin to exist! I mean-..” He looked down for a moment, realizing the outburst was probably slightly inappropriate seeing as how Kyuji had not yet finished speaking, especially directly after Kichiru himself saying that he didn't feel he was amazingly special whilst giving a speech about wanting to help and save people. Ah well, that was the way of children, was it not?

At the mentioning of it, he quickly hurried back into his seat, nodding towards Kyuji as he continued to speak. It was often strange that adults chose not to be spoken to in accords with their position of power, though to be far Kichiru had not often socialized with shinobi of such high caliber. Perhaps they were different than the random citizens of Sunagakure that he spoke to on a daily basis? He still had so very much to learn, not only about himself but about the culture that surrounded the shinobi world and how different it would be from his life before the academy.

"That would really be a funny coincidence if we both ended up as med-nin Hanabusa!” He smiled towards his fellow student. He didn't seem to be necessarily too talkative, though Kichiru was sure that the boy meant well. It would be absurd to expect any student of their age to have a defined goal for what they wanted to do with the rest of their life as shinobi. At this point, we're all dreamers. Wanting to fight the biggest monsters, save entire villages of people, and become figures of legendary significance in the historical texts yet to be written.

But for now, they were students, and they had a long way to go. One day they would have a story to tell their future students, perhaps not as inspiring as the one Kyuji had, in which he had come from quite literally nothing and worked his way upward as a shinobi until he was an esteemed member of the medical branch of Sunagakure and head of the Academy. They were truly learning under someone quite magnificent, though it only left Kichiru wondering what other powerful people would he encounter in the days soon to come? The thought excited him to no end as he shook his head side to side in response to Kyuji's final statement No more questions here. Let's start my first ever class!

Quickly after giving his first long speech of many that he typically did during the day, the students would respond to him commenting on what he said and he would simply smile at them as they seemed eager to learn and he surprisingly, considering he had been so busy, was eager to teach them. These two were going to do great, he just had a gut feeling about them. The only thing remaining to get this party started was to figure out what they wanted to learn. He could go with a generic lesson or do something special for these two, but what just what would he decide? The students if they were paying close enough attention would hear him making hmm noises in the front of the room as he continued to think. This would go on for a good few minutes before he decided on what he was going to do as it would be the easiest thing to teach them for being entirely new to this world of being a shinobi.

Continuing his friendly, happy demeanor he would begin to talk: "Alright, Boys. This will be a quick and easy class I do believe. We are going to talk about general information regarding being a shinobi and about our village that all good students should know and remember for when they take their Genin Exam. However, I want to know what you two already know about these subjects so you are going to tell me about whatever I ask and just try your best. Even if you are wrong, be confident in your answer and I will correct you if need be and go into a detailed explanation." He would pause momentarily shifting his weight to give them a second to digest the information before continuing. When he continued, he would say the following: "Mister Ryuga, tell me what you know about ninjutsu, taijutsu, and the medic branch of our village. Mister Mika, tell me about genjutsu, the main branch and the ANBU branch of our village. As I said a few moments earlier, just try your best and do not feel embarrassed if you don't know anything or are wrong. You are in the Academy to learn after all. I am here to help you, not make fun of you."

He would then re-situate himself as he awaited their responses. He was hoping that they had some knowledge on the areas that he asked them about. But, he also wanted them to not be know-it-alls because that wasn't fun either. He wanted to be of some use in other words, but he wanted them to learn stuff themselves as well. But, what would the children say?

Ryuga sat silently for a moment, thinking of every bit of information he knew about the three subjects he was just asked about. Ninjutsu, he knew the very basic information on it. Taijutsu, that was easy enough to explain, or so he thought. The medical branch, he didn't know anything about it. He had said he may want to be join it on the spot, he hasn't ever looked into it at all before. He thought that if Kichiru had the question, he would have nailed it. He placed his finger under the bangs covering his borrowed headband and tapped the cold metal plating softly. He lowerdd his hand onto to the desk and tried to gather any other information he had left out of the answer he decided on.

"Ninjutsu is how ninja use mold their chakra into attacks, or healing jutsu. They mold their chakra with hand signs. I've managed to memorize all of them. Ram, dog, serpent, ox, monkey, tiger, dragon, boar, bird, horse, rat, and hare. In different combinations, ninja can use these hand seals to cast different jutsu. Taijutsu is physical fighting. I don't think there's much more to it than that. And last but least, the medical branch is where medical ninja, such as yourself, treat the wounded. Other than that, I know nothing about anything."

Ryuga smiled slightly and nodded to himself. He looked over to his classmate and locked his eyes there. Awaiting a response. He was hoping to learn something from him. He didn't know much about genjutsu, the main branch, and most certainly the ANBU branch.

Think, what did he remember? Parts of the question were obvious enough but Kichiru was still young, only having been exposed to the world of shinobi through his elder sister as neither of his parents had decided to take on that role due to the dangers it presented. Whether or not it seemed strange that they would be so accepting of his choice to do something they decided was too dangerous would be a line of thought for another day, as for now he needed to think. To remember. The main branch, that would be a simple enough explanation to give whilst providing the young student enough time to remember.

“The Main branch of the village is composed of those ninja who decide not to join either of the other two branches: The ANBU or the Medical. They.. make up the bulk of our ordinary ninja who go on missions for the betterment of the village as well as the country as a whole.” Kichiru seemed somewhat pleased with his answer, noticing now that Hanabusa had been paying attention with full focus on him as he spoke. Did his fellow student think that Kichiru would know the absolute answer? Though Kichiru acted with a sort of confidence, he was pulling on strands of memory. And that was the easiest part, as almost everyone in the village knew at least something about the ninja of the main branch. The rest, now that would be a bit more difficult.

“The ANBU... They're the... secret ninja of sorts. They do things that require secrecy in order to make sure our information doesn't get leaked out to those who would want to hurt us.” If anyone was paying enough attention, they would likely realize that Kichiru looked as if he wanted to continue, but stopped himself from speaking further, as he had been scared that he would begin rambling in an attempt to seem intelligent. His sister would have known every detail, likely even as a student on her first day. Why didn't he study more instead of always having his face dug into storybooks?

“Now.. Genjutsu.. That would be a type of jutsu, like Ninjutsu or Taijutsu, except...” Kichiru looked around for a few moments, first towards his fellow student and then out towards the hallway, attempting to pick his brain for the answer. Surely his sister would have said something, either directly to Kichiru or simply out loud in earshot of the child. But what? Think.. Think, why can't I remember anything.. Genjutsu.. Ninjutsu.. Taijutsu... Genjutsu, but what is it? It's like my mind isn't working.. My mind is just... Wait-

His gaze jumped back in an instant towards Kyuji “Genjutsu is a type of jutsu that effects the mind! Like.. Making you see a bird that isn't really there. Or making you feel happy when you're actually sad! That's what Genjutsu is... Right?” His eyes glanced over for Hanabusa, looking for some sort of reassuring expression from either of the two that he had been correct and not simply made an absolute fool of himself. He was a happy child, there was no doubt about that, but that didn't mean he wasn't scared. Simply scared that he wouldn't live up to the standards set for him, not even by his parents but by himself.

The students had been given their questions and he waited, as patiently as he could, for their responses. It wasn't going to be much from them in the way of responses as they were mere students, but he had been proven wrong before and it was highly logical that he might be incorrect yet again. See, students were mysterious creatures in the shinobi world as they sometimes knew next to nothing and needed to be properly educated and trained to amount to anything; yet, there were some students that knew almost everything and could do many techniques before they graduated. What would these two prove?

It appeared the quieter of the two students was going to take a crack at his questions first. He described Ninjutsu vaguely, but he definitely was not wrong with the statements that he made about it and he even explained how different handseals formed different jutsu which many students never explained. The different handseals were probably the most important thing to write down on an exam or orally present if asked and most certainly was important to remember and memorize for future use. Mister Ryuga would continue explaining the medical branch and taijutsu even more vaguely than ninjutsu, but that okay. He was correct with what he said, their teacher just wanted more from him. Still, it was an impressing showing.

His attention would then turn to Kichiru as the energetic bunny started his responses. He would explain the ANBU and Main branches of the village fine, but he much like his classmate was vague in his answer. He would then go into trying to explain Genjutsu, but he was having a difficult time of it as he began but then had to stop himself to essentially gather his thoughts or else he would've probably embarrassed himself. When he resumed, he answered quickly and was correct but also still so vague. But, he and Hanabusa were students after all and they had done reasonable for being asked on the spot what everything was. Their sensei was not disappointed.

After it would appear that the two students were finished responding, the descendant of Byakko would smile at them both and say happily: "You are both correct in your responses. They were vague, but you have the general idea of everything down. However, I am going to go into more details because this would be some important information to know considering it might come up again in the Genin Exams, hint hint. I will start with taijutsu since you responded to my questions first, Hanabusa. Taijutsu techniques are the body and hand to hand skills of the ninja. Taijutsu techniques do not require hand seals. Instead the ninja will train their body in different forms of fighting. A ninja can also use their inherent Bloodline abilities when doing Taijutsu techniques. Clans such as the Hyuuga can utilize their ability to see the inner chakra channels of their opponent and then stop the flow, or utilize the Kaiten technique to form a protective barrier by releasing chakra from their body. There are many different types of taijutsu, but the main one is unarmed or hand-to-hand. But, you could also use swords, chains, poles, and many other weapons with taijutsu. Ninjutsu are the secrecy and skill techniques of a ninja. Ninjutsu normally require hand seals of some form but there are some clans and shinobi who have mastered one-handed seals like the Haku bloodline or using their eyes to use their ninjutsu like the Uchiha Clan. There are many different types of ninjutsu from offensive to defensive to support. In the medical branch, our jutsu are all support or healing jutsu, but we can reverse the effects and drain someone as well. The ANBU branch is mainly binding techniques and stealthiness like their Flock of Shadows technique. However, there are five basic elements a jutsu can take on which are fire, water, earth, wind or non-elemental. From those basic elements, you can combine two of them and make an advanced element like Photon, Shadow, Ice, Sand or even Ink. However, there are some clans who specialize in an advanced element and they have basic knowledge growing up to the point where it is second nature to them. My wife actually is a Haku-Inuzuka and she told me when we first met that she learned ice ninjutsu which is a combination of the water and wind elements from an early age with little to no training with water or wind ninjutsu. In other words, ice ninjutsu was the Haku Clan's primary element and thus it was second nature to them. Lastly, you are correct about the Medical Branch in the sense that we treat and heal people. However, we also are the ones that do research into new medicines, experiment to find these new medicines, and tamper with current medicine and techniques to make them better. Our Hospital actually has a section for veterinary aid as well so we actually can treat and aid pets and wildlife as well as humans."

He would then take a breathe to gather his thoughts for Kichiru's responses as he seemed to be doing some heavy lecturing. As stated prior, he was not disappointed but actually somewhat impressed with how the students were doing in their responses. He just wanted to be sure that he gave them as much as he could without leaving them in the dark about anything. After a few moments, he would begin to talk again: "Now, let's turn to the questions I asked you, Kichiru. Again, you both were right, but I just want to be sure that you know as much as you should and so you can better prepare your futures! Let's begin. Genjutsu are the illusion techniques of a ninja and they normally require hand seals. Genjutsu will use hypnotism to cause hallucinations in others. By causing such illusions they can cause their target mental pain and suffering just as real as physical hurt. Genjutsu is created when a ninja extends their chakra flow through the cerebral nervous system of their opponent to control their minds chakra, thereby affecting their five senses. To combat the effects of Genjutsu, there are two options. The first option is for the ninja to stop the flow of chakra in their body, and then apply an even stronger power to disrupt the flow of the caster's chakra. The second option is to have an outside ninja unaffected by the Genjutsu make body contact and use their chakra to disrupt the casters flow. There is a third option however which is to learn the Cancel Technique which will dispel the effects of the jutsu on you if you are aware that they are under a Genjutsu. These techiques also can be used with the essential five base elements or even an advanced element to add a nasty effect like burning or shocking a target. As for the branches, the ANBU Branch does the stealth work and the police work of the village. They are essentially suppose to make sure that we are kept safe and secure along with running interrogations and imprisoning people who go against our village or threaten us. They also watch over the people in the Asylum where the mentally ill are kept. Sometimes, they need to work with Medics especially in the case of the mentally ill as the Medics are suppose to check on the patients to ensure that they are still too ill to be released. Lastly, the Main Branch as you said is where anyone who chooses not to go into the ANBU or Medical field ends up. They do make up the bulk of the shinobi, but they still play a vital part to the village as they are the ones that do most of the missions and govern the village more or less. All three branches play a vital part in the village and having one of them destroyed or collapsing can cause a severe clash in the population."

He would then pause again to gather himself before finishing with a question: "Do either of you have any questions?"

Ryuga gave a sigh of relief. He glad to know that they had been successful in answering their questions. He was also glad their sensei gave more information about all six subjects. He listened patiently and attently, eager to learn all he could about the ninja world. He was nearly shut out of it completely for a long while. When Kyuji had stopped, he racked his brain or anything else he wanted to say or ask before their lesson began. He didn't have a single thing to ask, yet he had so much to ask. He wanted to learn about actually controlling his chakra, molding it into jutsu. But he didn't say anything about that, because he didn't want to rush anything. He wanted to get through absolutely everything that he needed to know before using his chakra. He looked over to Kichiru and then back to Kyuji. He nodded to himself.

"Nothing else from me. You touched up on everything I think we need to know. Then again, I wouldn't really know..."

He looked down at the wooden table and chuckled. He was slightly embarrassed with what he had said. He wasn't exactly great at thinking before speaking.

At this point in the class it was simply time for the two students to focus on what their teacher was telling them, attempting to absorb as much of the information as possible. Kichiru was pleased that it seemed the two of them were at least able to avoid giving any blatantly incorrect answers, though it was to be expected that they wouldn't be capable of providing every single piece of pertinent information to the questions asked.

Kyuji started off by answering Hanabusa, lecturing on first about the fundamentals of Taijutsu, which appeared to be differing physical techniques which one achieved through a combination of physical effort and proficiency in chakra management. One would have to master the art of their chosen form of Taijutsu as well as work on methods of imbuing said attacks with one's own chakra. These types of techniques weren't what interests Kichiru most though, however, especially since he was not physically tough by any meaning of the word.

It was then that the idea of specific clans having techniques of their own that interested Kichiru. He had read stories of legendary clans that had managed to develop mutations or secret techniques that allowed them to do what no other normal shinobi could. The student wasn't aware of any such thing being present in his ancestry, but it was certainly an interesting topic to think upon. I wonder what kinds of these clans I will meet in my journeys...

The response finished off with a small description of the different roles that the medical branch had within the village. This would likely be one of the parts that caught Kichiru's attention the most, as it had been the branch his sister was a part of. She specifically spent most of her time in the hospital treating emergency patients, essentially meaning she was one of the people saving people from the brink of death. This brought quite a bit of pride to Kichiru as he reflected upon her and what she did before her sacrifice.

Finally it was time for Kyuji to turn his attention to Kichiru to respond to the answers that he gave. He knew his were certainly more vague than Hanabusa's, at least in regards to his lack of knowledge of the ANBU and Genjutsu. Thankfully he was given the easier question of describing the Main Branch, which was one that almost everyone in the village knew about simply because it was the one most closely working in the affairs of the village and the country as a whole. Kichiru in particular found the balance of the three branches fascinating, as if they acted as the three pillars of the entire village. He wondered how much cooperation went on between the three? It would certainly be saddening if the young boy found friends, only to realize he would be separated from them due to a lack of joint-action between the branches.

“No Kyuji-Sens, I mean, Kyuji! I think you explained it all really well. Though I'm excited to actually try out some of those types of jutsu!” His voice carried out alongside his trademark grin, his eyes trailing upward into a state of imagination as he pictured the different types of fantastical jutsu he could discover.

This is going to be great!

OOC: Just a note Hanabusa, due to the recent rules on Classes/Tutoring, we're all required to make at least 5 posts with a total word-count of 1500. As of your most recent post you're at a total of 1213 words, so try to push your next post a little bit just to make sure you get that necessary total to get your rewards. Usually I find that reacting to what others say/do is a pretty good way to make longer posts, such as how we reacted to Kyuji's words.

It appeared that this class was coming to a close as neither student had any questions or concerns regarding the lecture that they had just been given on the various parts of the village and the different kinds of jutsu. At the very least, they seemed to understand the concepts that he had explained as mere nods and looks of understanding had swept their faces as he concluded. They both would be just fine by the end of their academy days and they would make great shinobi if they continued down their path since they had Kyuji teaching them after all. He just hoped that they would continue to attend classes and seek him out if they needed him for anything at all. But, he also understood if they were hesitant since he towered over them at six feet tall and he wasn't technically a human, but merely a demigod of sorts.

Regardless, there was no point in keeping them any longer today so he smiled at them both and said happily: "I am glad that you both grasped the concepts so well and don't have any questions. However, you may seek me out if you need a question answered or need help with something. I might appear to be a scary individual because of my appearance, but I do care about this village, my medical branch, and my academy. I definitely would be devastated if something were to happen to one or all of them. But anyways, I do need to go as I have two shifts to still work at the Hospital before I can go home and relax before starting it all over again tomorrow. Class is dismissed, have a wonderful day, Students!"

With that, he would take his leave by waving to them before exiting the room and heading towards the Hospital. They might have had a fairly decent day at the academy learning from him, but he still had a long day ahead of him much like their shinobi careers would be if they didn't work their tails off right now while in the academy.

Ryuga was extremely pleased with how the class had turned out. He had not only learned about the different types of jutsu, but he had also learned of the different branches in the village. He was glad that the information on hand seals he had vigorously studied had come in handy. Ryuga was still reviewing everything he had just learned, making sure to keep it in his memory. As Kyujin left the classroom, Ryuga stood up and sighed. He was somehow exhausted from simply sitting, speaking, and listening. He looked out through the window to see the bright sun ligting up the village. It all seemed much different to him now that he knew something about his own village. He was hoping that he would learn much more very soon. He was also surprised too see that someone that ran the medical branch and the Academy could be so happy and calm. He looked over to Kichiru, smiling slightly. Ryuga now knew that he wasn't the only person that wasn't full of knowledge on the ninja world, and even their village.

"That was a good lesson! I learned lots from Kyujin today, and I hope you did too. Though it wouod be cool if you didn't, that wouod mean you already knew everything. I hope to meet you again sometime, maybe even in the medical branch."

Ryuga now had some sort of plan for the future. The medical branch. Working under Kyujin shouldn't be too bad, and helping those who have suffered wasn't an idea Ryuga was opposed to either. Even with all of this in mind, Ryuga still wasn't quite sure about what lied ahead. However, he was certainly eager to find out! He started walking towards the door, however he was still lost in thought so he nearly tripped on the stairs on his way.

It seemed that the class had only just started a few moments ago and they were already preparing to leave, though perhaps that was simply because the two students were both quite new and therefore they simply needed to absorb the basics before being taught any actual techniques or going into the specifics of any one topic. Kichiru stretched outward as Kyuji said his farewells to the two students, though he wasn't quite sure what part of the man's appearance could be considered intimidating. The meditation was surely a bit strange, but that didn't mean Kichiru was necessarily scared to approach the man. If anything, he was happy someone so willing to teach others was working in the medical branch as it could possibly mean Kyuji could become a great asset to the young Kichiru.

"Goodbye Kyuji! Thank you for the lesson!" He waved towards the man as he bid him farewell. Turning towards his fellow student, he smiled "Yes, it was a really great lesson. I didn't know too many specifics, though my older sister taught me some things here and there. I always loved to hear her talk about it all when I was with her. It was fascinating, almost like hearing of this strange world you couldn't even imagine actually being a part of. Yet here we are!" Childish laugh filled the room as he spoke of the strange fantasy that had seem to become reality: That of being a Shinobi.

Gathering his materials, Kichiru then stood up to leave "See ya Hanabusa!" he spoke with a smile as he waved towards the student, leaving the classroom and headed back to tell his parents all about his fantastic first day at the academy.
