Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Nobu was getting used to meeting in this dark room in the middle of this hole that leaf called a second city, it was actually something he could laugh about after all for a place that belonged to Konoha, it was never looked after, it was a place that was just left to its own crime and scum and has been a home for his clan ever since they left the gates of the village and needed a different location as a base of operation and this has been the best place, setting up a casino and gathering information was something he would always get behind himself.

"Well I guess another day another teaching session, we need to really focus on other things, but the world keeps moving quickly and I need people to keep up with me, I wonder if he has got my letter by now. A safe bet to say that he should be on his way, but I do hate to be kept waiting for anything."

Nobu spoke the words out to the open to the cold room, they bounced off the walls and echoed as always, this little place was well hidden, into the twists and turns of the city and out of the range of what would be considered to be normal, but that was the purpose, that was the goal to confuse and make sure that no-one just came and wandered by this place, no what was taught here to those of the clan did not make it outside of the doors that shut behind them when they entered.

"Okay... I think that makes that; I beat myself four times in chess now. Shogi I cannot play against myself and sadly Nyr doesn't get it... Maybe..." The male pondered as he thought of more than one way to learn how to get ahead of his enemies.

Of course, the young male would be late... Who would send a letter to a blind guy? After all, he didn't even know the letter had arrived then after he had summoned Aki to read a book out loud again. "What... do you mean I have a letter?" He questioned Aki and Aki would start to speak. "Well. The letter arrived for you, but it seemed you never noticed it It seems to be from Nobu." A sigh was given as he started to grab his working clothing and pick up his fedora. There was still the fact that he was blind, but he didn't hide it that much when he was around familiar territory.

Walking inside the building he would make his way towards the place Nobu would be. "Aki said it would be around here..." Shion muttered and eventually knocked on a door to mention that he was there.

It seemed that with time everything changed, yet nothing changed either, as he sat on the make-shift sofa that was in this metal building he looked down towards the notes that he had been writing all his life, it seemed that even with these detailed notes he was so far from understanding the truth about the world but even with time he needed to understand, he needed to prepare himself for what he wanted to do with his life, he needed to make sure that everything he planned was put into action, letting his finger run across the edge of the page he flicked it with ease his eyes scanning across the next page as a knock on the door interrupted him from the direction his thinking was taking him in.

"Better late than never I guess, anyway now you are here we must make good use of the time we have together"

Opening the door he allowed Shion to step inside before shutting the door behind the man, though blind he knew full well that Shion was able to work his way around to the sofa or at least that was what he was going to assume in this situation, as he wandered back to the Sofa he allowed his fingers to grip onto the book that he had, taking the leather cover once more into his hand he looked over towards Shion for a few seconds.

"Well let's get straight to the grit of it shall we, we as a clan need to get stronger, that includes me, and what I need your help with is the study of brail books that I frankly cannot read or understand, all the books I have collected here have a reference to a resurrection Jutsu that a Dark Sage can produce, this allows us to use people to fight for our side. I need to learn about this, grab a seat, grab a book and let's start learning this together."

Nobu allowed his hand to come out, a guest he knew that Shion wouldn't see but the movement could be heard as well, he needed to learn and quickly.

"Better late than never my butt... Why not send your contract or someone. You do know that I cannot read letters on paper anymore right..?" He answered back as casual as anything yet remained as nice as he could. He would normally have left a scolding word which he somewhat did? He would place his fedora on the table as he would walk further in and wait for Nobu. Through the sounds that they made he could see the book and that Nobu was rather interested in it. "Brail... You mean the blind books.." He said a bit surprised that Nobu was showing an interest in them.

"Aki has been teaching me, if you wish I can teach you what I know of it." You could hear the small joy in his voice as he was quite happy to be able to finally return a bit of wisdom. "I am also still learning it; so I may get a thing wrong here or there. But... I will try my best. If needs must; I can always summon Aki?" He offered the second part as Aki was a bit more advanced than he was. But he heard moments later the wind and saw a hand extended towards him? He would take it if that was the case and sit down on the chair that was for him.

"From what Aki taught me... Brail is often seen as another language to learn and can be more difficult to learn. You need to develop the ability to distinguish Braille via touch. And to read Braille you move your fingertips from left to right across the lines of dots. Braille is a series of characters, or "cells," that are made up of six raised dot patterns, arranged in a rectangle containing two columns of three dots each." He explained and would try to show it in the book that he had in front of him. After that he would explain the dots and how what letters would be meaning.

Nobu grabbed a seat back on the couch as he listened to Shion speaking and nodded, opening the books up he began to run his fingers across the etched lines taking each one in and gathering an understanding of how different characters compared though at first, it was hard to say that there was in fact different characters it slowly became a realization that the book was trying to do the speaking to him, unlocked behind this wall of bumps and lumps he knew full well that he needed this knowledge to understand what it meant, as he pondered just how long it would take to learn the language.

"I think the basic understanding I have taken away from this is that I can well for a better term bring back the dead to fight for me, bloodline or core ability included, and with this knowledge, the main things I need to figure out is what is actually required, can I chop and change what and I use or do I need to find specific bodies that will suit the requirements I am after?"

His words almost rushed as he tried to focus on what Shion was saying, though it seemed that he was still learning to read this way himself which would have been a slight inconvenience for the Dark Sage, the knowledge was hidden in plain sight but also kept away, it was almost amusing to him that this was the way that he would have to learn.

"So words and letters are different, what about numbers, lines, full stops, the basics I need to decipher these books as this information behind them is important Shion, I need to understand the specifics and the basics, I need this information to begin the experiment, grab a book while you explain this language and start reading as well."

Shion nodded as he start to explain further. "Aki said there are 4 grades of Brailes... or codes so to say."

"Braille Codes Grade 1 consists of the 26 standard letters of the alphabet and punctuation. People learning to read braille typically start with Grade 1. Grade 2 has the same letters and punctuation as grade 1 with the addition of contractions for commonly used words and letter combinations. Contractions save time and space because braille is big and takes up more space than standard print. Contractions also make reading and writing braille much faster. Most braille, like books, signs in public places, menus, and most other braille materials, are done in Grade 2."

He took a small moment for him to take it in before explaining the last two. "Grade 3 is typically used only in personal letters, diaries, and notes. It’s a kind of shorthand and entire words are shortened to a few letters. Fourth is Music braille and Nemeth braille (for mathematics) are also common braille codes. And, though these codes are not exclusive to Konoha braille, there may be differences in the dot layout depending on the language for which these versions of braille are produced."

"Braille doesn’t have a separate alphabet of capital letters like a standard print. Instead, there’s a “code” that tells the reader the next letter is capitalized. That “code” is a dot-6. And, if you want to capitalize an entire word, you put 2 dot-6’s in front of the word." He would explain further along the line as he started to read as well, and eventually tried to create a cheat sheet for Nobu also. "I hope this explains a thing or two already... now let's see what these books have to hide for us."

With that, he would start to read as best as he could.

"This book is talking about a person... with up to 5 hearts... Didn't revenants have those..?" He questioned Nobu to see if his memory served right. If that were the case he would pick up another book and start to read in there; as that wasn't something they were searching for.

Nobu continued to allow his fingers to run across words on the book though he had very little understanding of what was being said, it was slowly going from being complete nonsense to making some form of sense, though only in the very basic sense of the words. Listening carefully to Shion speaking about different types, verses, and all the different actual between casual wording and full English wording. As he listened to Shion discussing the differences between Grades he nodded slowly, as it seemed that he really did underestimate what would be required to learn this language, though code was something he could pick up with a fair bit of work which was not his intention.

"I see so in some aspects the grade will then predict the outcome of the bookings, as well as how the writing is created and the format that is used for the book. Interesting to know that they do have so many different grades, that is not something that I would have predicted."

Nobu listened to Shion speaking it seemed that the books had the theme of what he wanted, the dark and the forbidden discussed inside of them, no joke that this was the case considering it was a sign language that had been used to create the books in the first place. As he rubbed his chin slightly, it seemed the book that he was reading if he understood this right was going to be discussing the use of Medical Jutsu.

"Correct, Revenants are not what we are looking for, and if I understand this book which I believe I do not really well, it still is discussing medical Jutsu and not what we are here to look at. So it seemed that with Braille I put it down to being a lot less complicated, maybe this route is not what I need to go down?"

Shion would nod as Nobu speak. "That does seem to be it.." he would frown later on as he was going through a book. 'thorn... pages..?'' He would let his fingers glide along the ragged part of the pages. Yet careful enough to not cut himself on the paper. "Odd..." He muttered and went back to the front of the book. Without a second thought he would peel a part of the book back. "Nobu... I cannot see it... but... is this book double layered?" he couldn't see the book beneath the fake cover.

As soon as Nobu would confirm it, Shion would explain. "I figured it would be; as the insides are somewhat torn... When going over the cover, its quite difficult to feel the difference. Who ever did this was a cunning one. BUt didn't expect a person like me to 'see' it also." He frowned once more. "It's a 'forbiden book o-' That is all that remains of the old braille... Now from what I read pieces before it's about your dark sage..."

It was troublesome even for Shion to figure out what the contains of the book were. "Sage mode is an emporwered state. Creating a senjutsu chakra. Dark sage. Dark pool? Summon world... The pages are in a bad shape; but I think this might be something you are looking for. Let me try to figure this out." He would let his fingers glide over the bits and pieces he could figure out.

"Impure World Reincarnation is a Jutsu that binds the soul of a deceased person to a living vessel, restoring them as they were in the last moments of their lives in order to do their summoner's bidding." he would flip a few pages again and took a moment to process it. "It talks about a method... Grave robbing? something about souls.."

"When first summoned, the body will appear grey and in a state of minor decay: often marred by cracks and other imperfections. If the summoner chooses to, they can rejuvenate the reincarnation while planting their control talisman, restoring their complexion and reducing some of the imperfections; this is merely aesthetic and the signs of decay do not inhibit their abilities."

He would place a hand on his cheek. "I think this is more like a journal... It reads more like that. It speaks about DNA quite a lot. Could that be something that you would need?" He would point in the book to the few code parts that resembled DNA. "Interesting... It also speaks of counters. Too bad it ain't just holy water..." There went one of the pranks he though of.. Bucket of water above a doorway was a pure classic, but even that wouldn't deter him at all then.

He moved his eyes to the corner as he tried to see Nobu, but because of the silence it was black. "Mean..." He pouted for a moment and would hand the book over. "Does this give you an idea..? It may not be a "how to do book" but at least it's something of a forbidden journal..."

Nobu allowed himself a few moments of silent reflection on the words that had been spoken between the two of them. He knew that these processes were something he would have to study more, something to focus on with the mention of the Dark Sage path his interest transferred across to Shion as he went silent, instead watching the man's fingers gently run across the book as he tried to figure out how much information he could gather himself from the book. Though he doubts that his abilities would be in the same way as Shion thought and how quick he would be able to read it.

"Well with that information and how things work this does give me a starting point to build upon, this information will come in handy, and now what I need to do is actually look into the method behind this, maybe this is just the starting point for the future but who knows for now it is clear that I need to focus on my ability to read these books, after that, I will then have to actually attempt to do some experiments."

Nobu looked toward Shion before standing up and grabbing a few of the books from the floor, his mind was now racing at a million miles an hour and he had other things that he had to focus on, this information opened a lot more possibilities for him. As he grabbed a few of the books from the shelves and headed towards the door that he had come in from it was clear that he was in a rush and a plan was in his eyes, he had so much more to do and so little time to do it in. Even he was aware of this.

"Thank you Shion, I do need to go test some things, but thank you for your assistance today, we will have a catch-up later regarding this."

Shion was taken a bit back by how quick nobu stood up and started to sort out the books that were on the ground. "H-hai..?' he questioned a little but was at least glad to get a thank you. he finally was able to help out his brother instead of the other way. "If you need help with me trying to read stuff or try to make sense out of things. please do let me know; I will try my best and i can always ask AKi to help too." he would mention it to Nobu before he stormed off.

"Guess he already had a plan up his sleeve..." he muttered and tilted his head.
