Name: Ao Homura
Age: 12
Gender: Male
General Description:
Homura stands at 4'6", has straight black hair, pale skin, and purple eyes. Homura feels like he is short for his age, and anyone pointing it out irks him. He still has some baby fat that's quickly burning off due to training and a growing metabolism as he gets older. He wears a dark red undershirt with a dark blue coat (with an open flame symbol on the upper left chest and over sized sleeves) over it. Inside his clothes are hidden pockets for concealed weaponry. Homura wears dark knee length trousers and sandals, and a kunai holster on his right leg.
History:
His mother came from a shinobi family, while his father is a civilian businessman. Homura's mother often trains and helps him study after school, while his father drilled business management and sense in between. Homura's parents are very supportive and loving, instilling a strong sense of family and loyalty with him - which is why his ambition in life is to serve Konoha to the best of his ability and become a renown Jounin capable of passing his accumulated knowledge and experience to the next generation. Homura had about an acquaintance or two in the academy, since he has the tendency to run his mouth when nervous and quip sarcasm whenever stressed. He led a rather ordinary life until he he graduated from the academy four years after he was enrolled.
Academy Days
Homura was enrolled at the academy at eight years old, after declaring to his parents that he wanted to become a shinobi. As an only child with no cousins within his age range, he had difficulties interacting with other children. Due to his lack of a verbal filter, he may accidentally insult someone and does apologise when he does it without meaning to. However, Homura isn't afraid to speak his mind and is would often argue with classmates if the situation arose. He isn't afraid to speak out to instructors either, but Homura would speak respectfully and politely with them.
In terms of academics that covered politics, history, culture, economy, stealth, and weaponry - Homura excelled here. His mother taught him that anything can be a weapon, from chopsticks to his own body; while Homura's father made sure that he understood logistics and stretching out funds and weapons, and how to deal with other people from a different culture. However, due to Homura's habit of snarking when nervous, negotiations often turn sour for him whenever he tried simulating it with his father. He is learning, though.
Homura loves using explosives and anything katon-related. Despite trying to be on his best behaviour, Homura couldn't resist using too many explosive tags or whatever bomb he could get his hands on during sparring or weapons exercises. This had led to various incidents where Homura singed his eyebrows at least once every two months, much to his embarrassment. To avoid using a constant henge to fill in the missing brows, Homura learned how to make use of make up from his mother, and is still learning other practical uses for it when it comes to disguise.
Despite Homura's propensity for anything that ignites, he excels at stealth. He has an understanding on where to hide where it's most inconspicuous, make use of light sources to maximise his invisibility, and how to minimise his scent or sound. Thanks to his mother's guidance, Homura had taken to using weaponry disguised as everyday objects to confuse his sparring partners at the academy.
During his academy days, Homura's proudest accomplishment was setting the Ao home's koi pond on fire, much to his parents' horror, confusion and reluctant pride.
Genin Exams
For his genin exams, Homura was asked to henge, kawarimi, and create two bunshin. Homura nailed the henge and kawarimi, he transformed into a perfect copy of his examiner and then switched out with a nearby log within the exam room. Homura nearly failed the bunshin portion of the exam, since he produced two clones that looked paler than him. He gave the bunshin another try, and managed to produce two clones with small differences, nothing to glaring unless someone was looking for them.
The examiner passes Homura, who had to contain all his excitement just so he could share it with his parents later that day.
After graduating from Konoha's academy, Homura begins his first step as a shinobi.
