Arashi has sharp features and quite a lot of distinct features. He has long black hair which is unruly and a mess most of the time. He has turquoise eyes and has an amber earring on his right ear. The origin of this earring is unknown to even him. He has had it with him for as long as he could remember. Besides this he always has his lucky pendant with him around his neck at all times. Arashi is skeptical to do anything without it as he believes it to be his good luck charm.
He is fairly tall for his age standing at 5”2’. Life on the streets has been harsh on him and he always keeps his wrists and arms wrapped in bandage wraps out of habit. His usual preference of attire is a standard black jumper over a rag tag undervest which he found on the streets. He always keeps three Kunais with him just to avoid sticky situations. A pair of simple cargo pants and discarded military shoes conclude his attire.
Personality:
Arashi is a highly intelligent and capable individual. He has a scientific and experimenting mind. He is a skilled taijutsu and ninjutsu user and has developed his skills living on the streets of Konohagakure, even matching his Aniki 's level. He likes solving complex problems and gets involved in everyone’s business. Often berated for it, he claims to gets a kick from it. He can analyse situations coolly and comes up with a solution almost immediately. Constantly suspicious of other people, which may be traced to his scarred past experiences. But once he trusts anyone, he grows loyal and caring but very rarely anyone gets involved with him. The reason for this is, that his style of interaction comes across as cold and condescending. He has been misunderstood and beaten up many times. Instead of realizing the error in his social skills, he always donned a haughty and distant attitude while meeting new people which made matters even worse for him. He only has one dream, to become a recognised person in the world and to avenge his parents, Bakuro and Shinora.
There are only a few thing Arashi prefers doing, when he is not running errands. Reading has been his sole solace providing ritual in his life. He avidly reads any scrolls he could get his hands on. Due to the generosity of his Aniki, he gained access to many different ‘smuggled’ ninjutsu scrolls, which ignited his interest towards the path of Shinobi. He also take a lot of pleasure in riddle solving and likes to annoy others by challenging them to tough riddles. Among other things he likes are frequenting hot springs and spicy foods. Arashi absolutely detests hypocritical people and regards them as scum. He also hated being looked down upon as he usually is by others. He also has mild fear of heights and avoids going to high places if he can.
History:
Arashi’s origins are unknown to anyone, including him. He has only heard stories about how he was found by a Travelling merchant on the deserted outskirts of Konohagakure. Bakuro Takejo was an influential iron merchant who travelled a lot between the hidden ninja cities conducting trade of iron wares. As is consistent with most travelling traders, he had his own travelling caravan and as was custom, his family accompanied him on his travels. Unfortunately for Bakuro, his wife Shinora had not borne him any children. The couple had tried a lot, but were unhappy that there had been no fruition to their efforts. On one night, while Bakuro and his entourage were on their road to Konohagakure, Bakuro went out for a stroll. It was a windy night, with high possibility of rain showers lashing down any moment. A few hundred yards away from his camp, Bakuro was lost in his thoughts staring towards the sky, when a faint wail broke his pensive mood. Bakuro turned towards the direction, startled and alerted by instinct. He cautiously approached the source of the sound, watching out for any wild animals. He found a basket with a newborn baby as the source. As he was contemplating on what to do, raindrops started to fall down around him. He picked up the infant boy, gauging him from head to toe. The baby was malnourished and had a fever. He had scruffy and tiny black hair and even more weirdly, his right ear had a small piercing along with an amber earring.
Without wasting any more time, Bakuro brought the baby back to their encampment. Shinora had instantly fallen in love with the little thing and Bakuro had decided then and there, that he would not ignore this sign from the heavens. He would bring up this child as his own and he named him Arashi. For the next four years, Arashi was raised as Bakuro's child and he came to believe that Bakuro and Shinora were his parents and the trade caravan was his life. He especially grew close with Ryuhaama Otaru, the son of his father’s assistant. Ryuhaama was six years older than Arashi and the boys got on like real brothers. Arashi fondly called his Ryu Aniki. However, Arashi’s first crystal clear memory was etched in his visions on his fifth birthday. He and Ryuhaama had ended up staying out late in the city, as he couldn’t decide on what he wanted soon enough.
However, something felt very wrong when they approached their encampment on the way back. It was eerily silent. No decorations that his father had promised were there. No pomp and celebration, but instead darkness. Darkness and a stench. A stench so powerful it gave him chills. They couldn’t make out what was going on but they saw shadows and they heard moans. He recognised the voices. They were his father’s and his people. Suddenly the sky split apart and set alight the entire encampment with one huge bolt of lightning. Arashi could swear, that the lightning took the shape of a dragon for a second. Arashi wanted to run into the fire and save his parents and all the people he knew, but Ryuhaama had already griped him and was running towards the other directions. He couldn’t understand why his brother would do so, but his Aniki knew that if they stayed they would die as well. Soon they reached the gates of Konohagakure, and it was the beginning of their street lives in the hidden leaf. Ryuhaama became the leader of a gang, to make some quick money for them to survive. He was apt in Ninjutsu but Arashi had to learn from the very beginning. He did odd jobs such as deliveries and pickups for his brother, before he decided that he wanted to make his own destiny and with his brother’s blessing he applied for the Ninja academy, to make his own path in the shinobi world.
