Name: Arawe Zashi
Age: 11
Physical Description: Zashi fits his descriptor – “the boy out of the sand.” Tanned skin, brown eyes, curiously dry skin, and dark gray hair all give the illusion that this boy was not born, but rather, sculpted from shattered stone and the husks laying about the desert. Zashi stands at 4’9” and weighs around 90 pounds. He wears his hair back in a short ponytail, and off his ears dangle earrings made of carved ivory. His clothes may seem a tad outdated: he wears a long tunic and roomy pants which expose his bare feet to the hot sand. Around his neck dangle prayer beads of some foreign religion. He tries to reflect tradition in his clothes and appearance, as an ambassador of days long past, when behemoths crawled through the desert unchecked, and the unforgiving skies burned those who dared leave the shade.
Mental Description: Zashi, though polite and curious, has a many hang-ups appropriate for one his age. He has a strong sense of pride as a follower of the ancient ways of the Solar Court, and finds disrespecting one’s ancestry contrary to this pride. He has a powerful sense of justice, which masks a deep sadistic impulse to violently punish the unjust. Zashi believes in becoming an adept shinobi to protect those who can’t protect themselves – that he belongs in a role where he can protect victims of a “degrading society.” Zashi, despite all his pride, is not unlike other children. He enjoys games, socialization, and has a very deep sense of loyalty to his friends.
History: The Arawe are as mysterious as they are controversial in the eyes of many historians. Their roots lie deep, hidden in times before Sunagakure. When mankind first became prominent, there existed a small sect of men claiming to have been enlightened by bathing in the blood of the Ancients. As mankind developed, the members of this cult slowly diminished, leaving what is now the Arawe. The Arawe were nomadic, and not particularly fruitful, given that they existed above the sands, where resources are scarce. Zashi’s family slowly dwindled and, in hopes of restoring their clan, fled the desert to areas uncharted, save for young Zashi. Zashi, after a painful day of travel in the blistering sun, found himself in Sunagakure. Zashi bears heavily conflicting emotions. Upon entering Sunagakure, he was treated with kindness, and learned their culture. He became enthralled with shinobi, and desired to become a public servant to share the Old Ways with Sunagakure. He may be a bit excited, however. Only time will tell how far this desire will go.
((Geez, how long has it been? I used to be Katoma back in days of yore, when Mist and Leaf were still there and I had no idea how to be a decent RPer. That being said, I’ve thought about it and I’m starting from scratch. I figured I'd get everything squared away before I have to start studying for finals. But I digress.))
