Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

[legend="Weapon 2"]Combat Gloves - Unarmed
A simple protector of one's fists. They provide a moderate amount of comfort when you are pounding on your enemies. Weights on the knuckles allow for one to inflict a bit more damage, but can throw one's fist slightly.

[legend="Enchanter Stance"]It was in his youth -- too many years, too many moons ago -- that Keita was granted his abilities with Genjutsu, the art of illusion. Practice and refinement from there was the challenge that the Old Ones had given him. It was for Keita to develop the best way for these illusions to be most potent: for himself, and for others. He found through his increased focus on the spell -- although, it leaves him able to be attacked -- works splendidly for this task. Keita already wasn't one of the strongest fighters, but he was one of the strongest minds. While this put him at a disadvantage in terms of being damaged, he could not be ensure to inflict chaos onto one's mind. Possibly bringing them over the edge into insanity.[/legend]

[legend="Jutsu Expansion"]Children often question why things are and why they are not another way. In the Academy, where all those brutes of children fought to be the "king of the class" and other ridiculous titles, Keita had this same wonder over jutsu. What would it take to bring one to the next level of strength -- as children in the Spartans were taught jutsu by their rank. One could infuse the hand seals with more chakra than necessary, but that only really increased the raw strength of the jutsu. It was going to take something more in order to bring the level of strength of all jutsu to their tier.[/legend]

[legend="Healing Factor"]This is one of the two gifts granted to Keita when he stood before the alter within the Temple of the Five and spoke with the Old Ones. The Shaman had to be able to out-last the other fighters in order to ensure they could endure to heal their injured bodies. We were not the strongest that the village had to offer, so the Old Ones chose to ensure that we were strong enough to endure whatever may come to bring us harm. The Shaman must stand. How was it, if not by divine cause, that the other medics in the other countries manage to survive? If not by pact with the Old Ones, then they must be the weaker shinobi in their villages. It was a shame the most valuable could be the most expendable.[/legend]

[legend="Human Anatomy"]Ceaseless days of Keita's early childhood were put towards learning the basics of medicine. One day, he would be expected to list every muscle in the body; the next: each organ. Keita's parents wanted him to be the best physician their family might ever have due to his ability with chakra. It begged the question of why they might sell him, then. Had they gotten bored of him so soon? It had only been twelve years. Anyways, it should be needless to say, but Keita, because of these teachings, became intimate with the human body. He knows darn near everything that the medics of the city of Maruishi did.[/legend]

[legend="Shattered Reality"]There is an interesting phenomena that occurs when one's mind is ensnared with chakra: their grip on reality lessens to the point where they cannot distinguish what is real from what is an illusion. That phenomena became a trademark of a shinobi, coined as genjutsu. Under the grip of the genjutsu, a victim's defenses are lowered as they are lulled into a false world, generally believing to be safer than they are. A skilled manipulator of the mind can easily take that opportunity to inflict true damage...or they could render one's mind shattered, destroying the view of the world by shattering the world they are in...and thus shattering their mind.[/legend]

[legend="Mind Crush"]With expertise in the arts of illusion, it is easy to modify one to be more fitting for the circumstances. Perhaps you didn't need to hold one in an illusion for but a few moments; why not make that illusion more powerful than one is accustomed to? Maybe you need to hold one out for minutes, or even hours. By weakening the focus needed, it is quite easily to suspend a Genjutsu to last as long or as shortly needed. Either way, they would be in Keita's world, where his strength, unlike those brutes in the reality, championed above the rest. Right where they needed to be.[/legend]

[legend="Elemental Illusion"]Electricity is an interesting phenomenon. In other countries, it allows for amazing contractions to work. It animates machinery. It creates light much like a fire would. When used on a person, it causes spasms of a muscle. Contractions and relaxation in frequent repetition, much like how burnt oil might fuel a piston. One could only wonder how profoundly this might harm someone in battle, where each fraction of a second is crucial to one's survival. Through the channeling of the lightning element into the illusional world, Keita was soon to find out. It was the first of the Five that Keita had made pact with. He'd use that raw power to ensure his next opponent would have a nasty sting.[/legend]

[legend="Bull's Strength"]To say that Keita was completely and utterly weak would be a terrible mistake. He had, after all, graduated within a single year as a Spartan. He was as fit as any of those warriors; he had simply chosen to make his mind as his dagger. While not on par in Taijutsu or Ninjutsu as those of the Main Branch might be once they specialize, Keita can pack a punch if need be. Keita knows quite well how to throw a fist. He knew how to make any number of illusions with them. He knows how to make something hurt. Badly.[/legend]

[legend="Clarity"]One part of being an illusionist is the need to be able to recognize one. This point was not lost on Keita. As he practice the illusional arts of Genjutsu, one of the people he would first test the effects of a written jutsu, or demonstrated one would be on himself. Through that constant self-torture, Keita became familiar with the generalities of how it felt to be under any and all Genjutsu. Once he was able recognize that was only when he could bring himself out of any. The power bestowed to him would be useless otherwise, wouldn't it? Using Genjutsu on another while under the influence of one was nearly impossible, after all.[/legend]

[legend="Duelist"]Combat was rare for the Sennin these days. Combat did not suit a leader, now did it? Not one within this country, where his kind were known for their wits rather than their brawn. He was an adviser, he needed his mind to be his strongest weapon. His battles were ones of the mind, and those opponents were rare enough that Keita could concentrate his entire effort onto them. That practice, he learned soon enough, showed him that that forced concentration upon an enemy provided a beneficial effect. Now, whether or not such would work in battle, it was for the Jun to learn soon enough; until then, he would hone his mind and how effective he can be when battling against a single opponent at a time.[/legend]

[legend="Fearless"]He had spoken with a god. He brought together two factions that might have warred against each other within the sovereign state of Earth. He had sparked the acceptance of a religion. Keita may not have been in many fights, but he had been trained close to death and brought to that point repeatedly. What was there to fear after that kind of life? Keita did not mind what the Old Ones, what the governmental leaders, what the government or its enforcing shinobi, what the world had to offer. Keita would take it face-first. Unflinchingly. That would be how he would reach teleos.[/legend]

Shadow Boxer Core Abilities Approved 20/20 used.
[spoilername="Shadow Boxer"][fontsize="12"]Skilled at both the Fist and the Mind, Shadow Boxers not only fight with their iron fists, but their ability to manipulate the player's senses to sway in their favor. It is said that a Shadow Boxer wins most of their fights mentally and finish up with their brawn.

Hands of Power - Passive (2 point)
Through years of difficult training and many bloodied knuckles, the Shadow Boxer learned to harden their strikes to hit like hammers.
Effect: +15% Unarmed Damage

Eye of the Mystics Level 2 - Boost (1 point)
Restriction - May be bought up to 2 times
Sharpening the mind, the Shadow Boxer hone their abilities to cast illusions upon their target. By doing so, the Shadow Boxer is able to entrance their target in an illusion much easier.
Effect: +2 Gen DC

Clear Head - Modification (2 point)
Restriction - Requires Cancel
"To know one's self is to know one's own weapon". This statement is evident with a Shadow Boxer. In order to use Genjutsu, it is their philosophy that they should also have a defense for it. It is much easier for a Shadow Boxer to realize they are trapped in an illusion and to escape the grasp the illusion has over them.
Effect: +2 Genjutsu save. Cancel costs 1 rank less chakra with rank 1 still costing rank 1 the same.

Weak of Will - Passive (2 points)
Restriction - C Rank and up
This attack evens the playing field for those with strong wills and breaks those with weak wills. A Shadow Boxer is capable of not only crushing the bones of their target, but also crushing their spirits.
Effect: All unarmed strikes made by the user have a 30% chance of reducing the target's Genjutsu Save by -1 for the remainder of the round. This chance is increased by +10% if Hands of Power acquired. If used with multi-hitting jutsu this percentage is divided evenly, and may only take effect once per Action. This effect Stacks up to three times.

Sensory Deprivation Aura- Passive (2 points)
Restriction - C Rank and up
Using the Shadow Boxer's fighting instinct as a catalyst, they create an enormous aura around them radiating a half-mile radius around the user. Those captured in the field have one of their senses weakened. This Aura envelops friend and foe.
Effect: Pick either the sense of (Visual, Audial, Kinetic or Will Genjutsu) at the beginning of the battle. All others on the battlefield receive -2 Gen Save to single sense Genjutsu of the chosen type. Must roll everyone's Gen Save vs the Shadow Boxer's Gen DC at the start of each round, and all Shadow Boxers are immune to this effect. The Sense that is affected remains a secret.

Beautiful Mind Rank 2 - Boost (1 point)
Restriction - May be bought up to three times
As saving energy is an efficient way to fight, saving mental space is also a good way to fight, especially with illusions. Being able to reduce the wear that casting Genjutsu does upon one's mind and Chakra Coil, one is able to cast more illusions due to the savings.
Effect: -10% Genjutsu CP Cost

Painful Illusions - Dependent Special Move (3 points)
Restriction - C Rank and up
Why cast a Genjutsu with handseals when you can channel them through your fist? Break someone's face and their mind at the same time. Nothing better than hearing your target scream in physical pain and mental anguish.
Effect: The user may channel Genjutsu through their Unarmed weapon; Using their melee Accuracy in place of their Genjutsu DC. Genjutsu used this way cost +10% chakra, increasing by an additional +10% Each time this skill is used after the first.

Notes:
- The cumulative chakra debuff created by this technique resets at the end of the round.

Share Genjutsu - Independent Special Move (3 points)
Restriction - Requires Clear Head, Painful Illusions, Body Switch
Why not share the pain? This is an alternative to completely shutting out a Genjutsu. However, one must realize they are under a Genjutsu to be able to share the wealth. In knowing the pain you are under, the Shadow Boxer is capable of transmitting a portion of the Genjutsu back to the caster. Some may use Body Switch out of a Ninjutsu or a Taijutsu, some may reverse the Genjutsu, but the Shadow Boxer smashes your face in and shares in the mental/sensory ruination.
Effect: If the user is aware of a Genjutsu being used upon them, they may instantly strike the caster with their Hands of Power Ability and apply the same Genjutsu at the rank that was used upon them. This may be done reflexively and only upon recognizing a Genjutsu when it is first placed upon the user. This costs 1 Ap and Cp (With the Hands of Power penalty) equal to the Genjutsu effecting them. The user must meet all requirements in order to apply this Genjutsu to the caster.
Note: Must indicate and use similar to Body Switch Jutsu. Cannot be used if you do not have the stats necessary or if it's a bloodline/core ability Genjutsu.

Mirage Strike Rank 2 - Jutsu (1 point, 1 point to rank up)
Restriction- A-Rank and up
Not only do your fists hurt enough, but you can also have them imagine the pain of several more following behind. After the initial punches and kicks, a wave follows behind them, looking like many more arms and legs followed behind. For those that don't see through the illusion, they'd think the Shadow Boxer's speed is incredible and that their fists hit like a megaton hammer. Unfortunately for the target, most of the hurt is all in their minds.
Rank 1: Strikes the target eight times, alternating between Illusionary and Physical strikes. Physical strikes deal 485 Damage and Illusionary strikes deal 340 Damage.
Rank 2: Strikes the target eight times, alternating between Illusionary and Physical strikes. Physical strikes deal 620 Damage at +1 Accuracy and Illusionary strikes deal 415 Damage +1 Genjutsu DC.

Cost:
Rank 1: 1,650 Cp; 2.75 Ap
Rank 2: 1,980 Cp; 2.75 Ap

Notes:
- This may only be used once a round.
- Illusionary strikes are rolled using Genjutsu DC.
- Damage dealt by Illusionary Strikes cannot be reduced.
- Successful Illusionary Strikes will inflict -1 Genjutsu Save to the victim, up to a maximum of -2 for the next full round.
- Whenever two Illusionary Strikes hit, the target has a 20% chance to be unable to recognize a random Genjutsu the user has the victim currently under for an additional round. This may only occur on the same target once.[/fontsize][/spoilername]
