Hoshi found himself waking up at home. He finally was out of the hospital and on a single crunch. He made a rather fast recovery, but the medical experts still advised minimal movement. Today even though what the doctors said he took up a mission. From the description it seemed simple as ever. A search and retrieve. He wouldn’t be alone per say, but his usual team of sensory type, ninjas who could detect others and forms of energy if you would. Nothing could possibly come as a surprise to the group, but with Hoshi initially out of it due to his injuries, they were down a little bit.
He found his clothes after a nice shower, feeling refreshed and awakened for today’s activities. Hoshi presumed to stroll his crutched self, downstairs and made himself a quick breakfast. He devoured the mini meal and found his way to the front door. Here, he struggled a bit, getting through while maintaining his crutch, mind you trying minimize pressure on his injured leg, and pulling the door closed. He did so eventually, and locked it. Hoshi turned around, and trotted his way to Dragon tooth pass. This was his mission’s first response.
Along the way he met with several villagers who praised his crutching from a previous wheelchair adventure. Shouyu would wave in response but all the while focused on each step. The task of traveling proved more difficult than ever with this limited mobility. He was frustrated none the less but he had to deal. It took him a longer time than usual to arrive. Back at the headquarters where his team and leader waited to delegate the mission, they all were concerned. Even when they are heard Hoshi would be returning to duty in the process of healing it worried the squadron.
Shouyu arrived in a short amount of time through all the fuss and distraught of his recovery they cheered and danced. Shouyu limped over to the group with a large smile and chuckled. His team threw playful jabs and nudges at the injured shinobi. They berated him for being in that state the first place, but each also gave it commendable praised to the young boy. It was true, at his young age he was growing and experience a lot, most even more than he bargained for. Who would have thought he’d be in such a life where the thin line of life and death is but a fabric of cloth.
The leader addressed the squad and gave out the mission details, Shouyu nodded in response and looked to his team. Of course they all understood the message, and he did too. Shouyu stood, held up his crutch and huddled with his team. The mission was, split into groups, some outer village, some at the gates, and some inner village, all with headsets, simply report, converge and bring it home. It was simple enough, Shouyu nodded with confidence. His team said a small chant, and after that, they would all disperse, only Shouyu limping away.
He was to stay at the village gates. Since lately, his visual prowess could expand to over two thousand meters in distance. That way, he could the route of over two to three ninja alone. He accepted his duty, activating his family trademark instantly, the capillaries bursting with flooded chakra. The boy knew he could see anything oncoming, but at the moment, everything was the usual. Soon after, other voices flooded the channel with reports. Shouyu reported his situation followed by others. A distinct order by the leader to stay vigilant told everyone to stay strong.
Shouyu remained that way, maintaining focus. His eye sight was a keen as over, regardless of wasted time healing in the hospital. Shouyu kept a vigilant eye, peeking himself from the high angle vantage point. His couldn’t see anything until a report came, he nodded. The other converged instantly, Shouyu reported it was safe to return to HQ. Within a few minutes the others had come and the convoy was successfully retrieved. It was wrapped up, and in a box, that was heavy, or the contents were heavy. They weren’t told to open so, it wasn’t there business.
The crew high fived, low fived, departed again with Shouyu limping away, triumphantly. Today was his first b rank mission, and boy was he proud of it. He took this moment to heart, recalling all his old missions from e to b rank today. Yes, he came a long way. Trotting off in his crutch, he chuckled aloud. His team was long gone though. Shouyu just wanted to get somewhere he can sit down and chill. He needed some r&r after all that. It didn’t seem like much, but this handicap was really a hindrance. He would soon surpass it.
