Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

His request was meet with an odd follow up, a sleeping bag and instructions had been given or where to be and what to bring. She could have just said no or not answered at all, Kamaru wondered if this was a form of hazing in a way as he left and it started to raid. Did she know it was going to rain? Moving to the location Kamaru found a simple note on waterproof paper saying to use the sleeping bag and go to sleep. Rubbing his eyes he looked around, he didn’t have that much else to do that evening so he climbed into a tree slide into the sleeping bag and drifted off eventually. The sound of the rain and thunder in a way seemed peaceful. If he hadn’t climbed into the bag wet and cold he probably would have enjoyed the quite time. It was early in the morning when he awoke. He breath didn’t change when he saw the figure staring at him in the darkness. As lightning flashed he blinked with realization. He could tell who it was although realization she was hanging from a higher branch upside down didn’t affect him as much as he thought it would. The air was cooler, the sound of the area around him was different, plus he had the academy’s friendly stalker poking him with a stick as she held a soft light from some source in her mouth explaining it was early morning and time to get started. Kamaru reminded her sneaking up on people after telling them to go to sleep in the middle of nowhere when there was a thunderstorm in the area was odd. She dismissed him explaining it was the best time to get in as many variations to train as possible so it was practical. She stopped and explained she forgot to ask if he was okay with rough conditions she apologized if he had medical conditions due to his age or something.

Kamaru almost vibrated with the thoughts of being called an old man or at least that’s what he thought she was implying. She was right though, uneven ground, muddy in some areas, small outcroppings of craggy rock, roots from trees, darkness swelling in some areas while lightening cast odd shadows now and again. It was definitely not a normal target range. As he unzipped the bag and peeled it away she made the comment that at least he was dressed for the weather and environment since he was in black and grey clothes versus his usual wardrobe of dress clothes. Commenting on not wanting to lose a shoe in the mud though and figuring he should dress appropriately did get a faint smile out of her. Other than that it was straight down to business with the petite teacher’s assistant.

Being in a position where you used ranged weapons you had an advantage on your target; you had range, literally, on them to attack. Some opted to find a highly defend able position to attack from that was tough to spot and highly concealed, others would mark various locations and snipe on the run moving before they were seen between shots. It took more planning with contingencies in mind since one never knew how targets would react exactly or if even the best set up ambushes falling apart due to various minor reasons.

In the darkness he wondered what the young lady had in mind until she explained the point of staying out here so long mostly due to the weapon choice he was looking into. Ranged weapons were simply that, ranged. Outside the counter attack of most jutsu sometimes laying in wait for long periods of time may be needed. Knowing one’s surroundings in different conditions seemed to be something being pointed out as he tried to recall what things had looked like during the day prior in the dreary sunlight as it rained that was now masked by early morning in shadows and lightning.

The small voice in his ear letting him know the targets were setup and for now he'd be hitting them on the run simply got a nod and Kamaru moving out to find and strike. Drawing on the previous exercises from the young girl he made his way through the area spiraling out in a search pattern. Hunting down anything that seemed out of place. He as surprised to see small targets in various places, especially since most were camouflaged to not easily be seen. Comments were made by the odd weapon Kamaru kept loading with long slider darts. He didn't know why he was whispering back to her but he figured he somewhat took the exercise serious explaining few people would have the arm strength to fling the slender darts barehanded a third of the distance as he loaded another dart into the grooved tube on the run as he roll out from behind a treeline his arm snaking out with a flicker of metal flying through the air at another target lodged in a tree's foliage before he got to his feet jogging off agian in another search pattern patrol.

The commentary was what Kamaru expected as he worked, he seemed use to moving around cautiously but not as if frigid or suffering from the shell shock of combat although the weapon handling and usage seemed to be the focal point of him looking for the most part like a beginner... in some aspects he had to explain to himself mentally he was just that. As day broke Kamaru found himself sitting on a log breathing heavy since he was finally done he thought. The young lady with him clapped and congratulated him on finishing without quieting. The factor she gave little to no commentary on his work so far was ignored since she asked him to pick up all the targets. Kamaru shot back considering them to be damaged and the number it was going to take a while. She nodded and added she had set them all up while he was sleeping so it should take more than twice that time to do the job. As he dropped a smoke bomb and vanished a note fluttered to the ground. It mentioned the fine in the area for littering and she had labeled all the targets as his property. It also mentioned he did well in his training but it was too late, he had already burn the note to a crisp in his hand as he shook violently.
