Character's Physical Description: A lean and firmly built frame accompany what might be considered an exceptional muscle tone for someone his age, his most noticeable features being the out of place (and out of style) blue hair that he brandishes shamelessly whenever a slick patch of sun manages to find it's way into the depths of the hollowed hills he calls home. His eyes are red, much like his hair a common trait of the Bakanyoni clan, but something about his eyes seem to sizzle and ferment with a quality not common to his brethren. His skin tone is equally out of place and he is often marked with such unusual physical abnormalities as sun burns and strange pale patches of skin. As far as clothing goes he can often be found wearing the traditional black haori and hakamas of his father's temple, bound with a simple white belt and often holstering some odd trinket from some location he probably wasn't supposed to be. If one looks closely they may notice his tendency to avoid wearing almost every single other part of the outfit, usually closing the haori just enough to hide whatever bare skin he may be nearly exposing. The only other feature of note would be his unusually dry hands, scarred and calloused with additions on what would almost seem to be a daily basis.
Character's Mental Description: Best told by his expression, one often found aiming it's way over the crowds and into the distance. He holds his chin high and his shoulders back, his posture teetering dangerously between confident and self absorbed. For the most part he is like many rebellious youths, fighting for his place in the world while trying to remain as secretive as possible. Though he has living quarters and family like anyone else, he can seldom be found sleeping in or near either of them, a tendency which has certain members of his family concerned. Whether it be a matter of paranoia, insomnia or poor timing on the observers part cannot be said. He is cool headed, difficult to startle and, when it comes to personal interactions, often comes off as uncaring. Usually this is more a result of the sheer amount of time he spends watching the distance instead of making eye contact. Eye contact or not, there is always something amiss about his gaze, a subtle and deranged spark in his eye that once lead one of his teachers to suspect that he was planning to leap through one of the open windows in their classroom. It is a lonely spark, fueled by a thousand unkept promises. A spark that hints at passion and madness and some dare guess genius in what could only be flexing degrees that somehow sings white-hot alongside the cuts on his hands and arms with a will of fire...

Character History: Takayama was born into the Bakanyoni clan, derived supposedly from a strange caste of bodyguards who have their origins in tea country where they were loyal predominantly to a line of tea masters whose title and importance have been all but lost to time. In Iwagakure the Bakanyoni clan have settled into the austere and practically forgotten role of Warrior Priests whose sole duty is to protect the temples and uphold the teachings of the Old Ones. His stepfather, Bakanyoni Hanzo, continues as one of the priests in charge of training the monks. A stern man of stiff beliefs and impractical standards, he boasts that he is one of few men in this world who have achieved Teleos. The truth as observed by others however implies a certain lack of selflessness that many of the old ones stipulated as a requirement. Takayama's mother is also of Bakanyoni, a chuunin of appreciable standing in leaf's forces before the tragic turn of events that sparked the great fall. She was a wild minded free spirit with no sense of restraint or hesitation and personal assistant of Kakihara Zenzo, a leaf jounin whom she eventually fell in love with. Kakihara Zenzo was a harsh man by many standards and rumored to be the original tutor and confidant of one of leaf's Hokages. Out of their unusual partnership was born an oddity. Though tough as nails in regards to physical endeavors and sharp enough to outwit many of the savage Yakuza members he was known for contesting in leaf, Kakihara Zenzo was ultimately forced during the final days of leaf's standing to send his newly formed family into the abyss while he stayed back to help the rebellion in what seemed like a losing battle. Some suggest he still fights today, waiting in the dark woods outlining the Daimyo's caravans with the remainder of leaf's loyal members and striking whenever the opportunity presents itself.
