Character's Physical Description: It's difficult to tell what lies beneath the various disguises and outfits his predilections lean him towards, but his most noticeable features include natural blue hair that seems to have suffered noticeably at the hands of the elements and an overworn pair of sunglasses that are bound to illicit a few raised eyebrows while he roams the streets at night. His shoulders droop in a way that suggest he had once been a confident creature who over time had his dreams dashed, but something about his footing betrays this in such a way as to give an awkward vibe to those trying to size him up. Not many people can make the claim to have seen Takayama's eyes, but the few who do seem to have a deeper understanding of the numerous paradoxical behaviors he's known for. His skin tone is generally pale and while he's been caught in a number of peculiar costumes he is most commonly seen sloppily dressed in something that otherwise might have looked vaguely professional.
Character's Mental Description: Takayama can at best be described as confusing. At first glance his slack jawed mannerisms and clumsiness paint a picture of a drop out with a short memory, but occasionally something more subtle and sinister seems to lurk beneath the surface. His responses and personality can shift radically from terribly blunt to irrational in little time, but despite his bizarre tendencies there often seems to be an odd sharpness that clings to his words that all too many times has made it hard for those dealing with him to tell if he's being manipulative or daft. Though he has living quarters like anyone else he can seldom be found sleeping there, a tendency which has left certain members of his entourage frustrated. Whether it be a matter of paranoia, insomnia or poor timing on the observers part cannot be said, the only thing that qualifies as a certainty is the fact that he frequently seems just a bit more tired than he ought to be. Takayama often comes off as uncaring. Usually this is more a result of the sheer amount of time he spends watching the distance instead of making eye contact. Eye contact or not, there is always something amiss about the direction of his gaze, a subtle and deranged tilt to his head that once lead one of his substitutes at the academy to suspect that he was planning to leap through one of the open windows in their classroom. Thanks to his strange habits he has often become the target of rumors and half chewed mutterings hinting at passion, madness, or genius in what can only be flexing degrees. What the actual truth is we may never know.

Character History: Takayama was born into the Bakanyoni clan, derived supposedly from a strange caste of bodyguards who have their origins in tea country where they were loyal predominantly to a line of tea masters whose title and importance have been all but lost to time. In Iwagakure the Bakanyoni clan had settled into the austere and practically forgotten role of Warrior Priests whose sole duty was to protect the temples and uphold the teachings of the Old Ones. His stepfather, Bakanyoni Hanzo, continued as one of the priests in charge of training the monks until his unexpected death resulted from an 'accident' involving his care of the temple's 'fasting chambers' a decade after Takayama himself 'died' from a similar incident. Takayama's mother is also of Bakanyoni descent, she was a chuunin of appreciable standing in leaf's forces before the tragic turn of events that sparked the great fall. She was a wild minded free spirit with no sense of restraint or hesitation and personal assistant of Kakihara Zenzo, a leaf jounin whom she eventually fell in love with. Kakihara Zenzo was a harsh man by many standards and rumored to be the original tutor and confidant to key handful of leaf's best and brightest. Out of their unusual partnership was born an oddity. Though tough as nails in regards to physical endeavors and sharp enough to outwit many of the savage Yakuza members he was known for contesting in leaf, Kakihara Zenzo was ultimately forced during the final days of leaf's standing to send his newly formed family into the abyss while he stayed back to help the rebellion in what seemed like a losing battle. It would not be for another ten years that the war in leaf would simmer to a close and the family could be reunited, at least in the vague sense that they could all manage to keep in contact well enough to know they were all still alive. Currently his mother manages the Bakanyoni estate in stone and his father spends the majority of his time in tea country running questionable errands for local lords.
