Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

From the highest watchtowers to the wealthiest manors, the humblest dojos, and the most-noble stations, rumors were adrift in the Village Hidden in the Clouds. There was excitement brewing— word of a tournament, testing the battle might of all the world’s greatest fighters. It was a rare opportunity; the chance to represent our nation on the grandest stage possible, going head to head against the best competitors the shinobi nations had to offer. A herald came foretelling of the event in a grand invitation, and now the Hidden Cloud has begun its search for three worthy competitors.

Perhaps the event could have begun in a grander fashion, but the quiet option was chosen this time around. A single conference room was allocated for applications on the 2nd floor of the Torre Celeste. Within the room were two everyday shinobi on staff; one with the honor of notarizing and collecting the apps, and the other to keep the process secure of any rabble-rousing.

Each applicant who came to apply would find the desk and that eager clerk who’d direct them to the sign-up procedure. It was simple: follow the instructions and the chosen competitors would be notified in advance of the tournament. There were a number of qualifications in consideration for selecting the competitors, with battle prowess at the top, and reputation following closely behind. With so many competitors expected to submit their names, the Hidden Cloud intended to have its most exemplary shinobi represent it on the World Stage.

The Application Form
Name: (Name as registered in Land of Lightning Citizenship)
Rank: (Recognized shinobi rank within Hidden Cloud)
Combat Style: (Elaborate or Keep it simple. What kind of fighter are you?)
Bloodline/Core Ability: (Recognized Nobility or Special Abilities)
Kinjutsu: (Must be registered with Medical Branch)
Why You Should Represent the Hidden Cloud: (Please list your notable accomplishments, qualities of character, and why you are the best pick for representing the village.)
Medical Duty: Please note if you would like to volunteer for medic tent duty. Also, indicate if you would like to serve as a medic but do not desire to enter as a competitor.

OC Notes: Applications will be accepted through October 23rd, and from there, considerations will be made for all applicants. Leading up to the Tournament there will be threads involving the applicants in a process of narrowing down the numbers (if necessary), and preparations by Cloud to ensure its shinobi are up to the task. Your activity is the most prominent requirement for participating. So appear in-character and sign up!

As they say, punctuality is one of the fundamentals of what it takes to be a successful shinobi. Whether it was a matter of making it on time to a briefing or being in position for a stakeout before the target moved, promptness was a mainstay of any reliable shinobi. In truth, Kaji Okada never thought he’d be the first to enter that room, in fact, he was certain that of all the hopeful applicants, he was the least excited to volunteer for the World Martial Arts Tournament.

He entered that room with such a relaxed energy, failing to excite the clerk at the table or the guard, who both looked at him as if he were in the wrong place. Kaji hardly resembled the standard cloud shinobi given his caramel complex and obsidian mane, which went he made some attempt at styling. He wore a new pilot’s jacket in timberwolf gray with white trim and a slim fit, dusty slacks in charcoal, and riding boots in burnt umber brown. Showing a new level of comfort, he left his trusty saber Eelspine behind for the day.

And so, with just a bit of small talk to lead his way, Kaji took a clipboard from the desk with an application and began submitting his name, his truth, and his motivation.</FONTFACE>
The Application Form said:

Bloodline/Core Ability: No special blood, I am simply an Opportunist

Why You Should Represent the Hidden Cloud: I am an alliance shinobi sworn to serve the hidden cloud. My duty is to participate as a symbol of peace between the Cloud, Stone, and Leaf villages.
Medical Duty: I desire to participate as a competitor first, but know essential first aid worthy of preventing loss of life in the event a catastrophe occurs.

A wind... dashing, the breeze capturing clothes in the gust of its wake, spinning the very owner wearing said linens. Shrieks of concerns, ‘What was that?! The commoners were flabbergasted, until one capable young student of the academy caught wind of the flickering shadow.

Civilian: “Hey it’s Hoshi-kun!”

Crowd of commoners: “He’s applying for the world martial arts tournament! Go! Go! Go!”

Hoshi grinned as some of the familiar villagers cheered him on. He sped up even more until he was bathing into the front door with a stumbling tumble. He thought he was late to sign ups, but alas, only Okada Kaji was calmly about to leave after his registration. The once hyped Shinobi, who was still heaving breaths to catch up to his accelerated heart rate, was now confused and distraught.

“Wait! Kaji! I didn’t miss sign ups did I? Where is everybody?!”

He looked around, fumbling to the table with application and seen only one put in. Now he was really thrown for a mental loop, endless as he could not understand why everyone was jumping the gun here. Either way, he took the form and filled in the blanks.
Name: Shouyu Hoshi
Rank: Chuunin
Combat Style: Taijutsu counterattack specialist.
Bloodline/Core Ability: Hyuuga
Kinjutsu: Hachimon
Why You Should Represent the Hidden Cloud: I am... I possess the will and resolve of an unwavering Shinobi, and against any opposition I will never falter or give up. I believe, my sword is the epitome of cloud’s strength and defense, the dragon tooth guardian should represent the village at the tournament! The show the strength of Kumo’s first line of defense! Done.
Medical Duty: I am a combat specialist, not a medic, sorry.

Hoshi laid his app next Kaji’s. He hoped his long winded explanation was enough to at least get him considered. He looked back at the elder Shinobi, his eyes soft with thoughts that would beget a heavy grief in his heart. He thought to himself, ‘If Shinobi like Kaji are signing up, I’ll surely be overlooked. No matter, at the very least, maybe I can just watch, and learn. Yeah.’ He nodded to himself and smirked. Without a second thought he’d go to make his exit after Kaji, if he hadn’t already left.

He had received word of a tournament of power of some sort was being held. The best of the best would be there competing for their villages and their individual glory. There was no reason why Kouin wouldn't sign up for a such an event. He would prove his might and will in front of the masses in the country of tea. Though, he didn't want to look like he was overtly eager and be the first person to sign up instantly; he decided to pull the fashionable late approach and sign up and day or two before the registration closed.

Kouin reached the conference room and looked at the application on the table while twirling a pen in his right hand.

The Application Form said:
Name: Kaze Santaru Kouin
Rank: Jounin
Combat Style: Speed Burst Nintaijutsu
Bloodline/Core Ability: I have studied heavily in the arts of Spiritualism
Kinjutsu: Rikudo Sennin (As registered by Medical Branch)
Why You Should Represent the Hidden Cloud: I have proven to be a skilled warrior in combat countless time, and have proven to not be a free radical having served a solid five years of service. I desire to bring glory to the village, and Gods of Kumo above.
Medical Duty: Being adept at Spiritualism I can provide minimal healing, but I've practiced little in that method of teaching.

With a definitive period on the application he would hand it back to the clerk, and place the pen back on the counter, Now we wait I suppose. He turned to leave the building, maybe it was time for a walk through the forest one last time.

Haji came sprinting from the direction of the Aesculapium, having just delivered his letter to Junko he was ready to sign up. He stopped, breathing hard at the table with all the forms, and held up a hand, asking to be given a moment. The clerk at Haji's assigned station looked bereft, but Haji finally regained his composure and asked about the process to apply for the tournament. He already knew the process since he had shown up earlier, and been told his kinjutsu would have to be registered in order for him to participate, but he feigned ignorance for appearance sake. Because after sprinting into the station with no breath left, saving face was important. Surely someone somewhere was slapping a hand to their forehead.

Haji wrote quickly; he could write with all six of his hands after all. So the form was filled out in an instant and Haji grinned as he turned it in to the nervous looking clerk:

Kiri wasn’t at all at ease as he entered the Torre. The last time he’d been there, it was with great reason along with Osu, Hoshi and Haji, meeting up with the Raikage for a quick report. It so happened to be a night worth remembering, too, as he earned the punch from the Raikage. But that didn’t deter him. He had heard about the call for participants and while he was a bit conflicted that they would even let him try for it, after all he had done, he was still a bit hopeful, but for a different reason. The travel to Leaf was unexpected but he did try to learn if there were anyone from his former clan who still resided there. Unfortunately, there wasn’t even a trace of them since the civil war. As such, he found himself at a loss. Even if he had already come into terms that his home was not Kumogakure, there was still a strange yearning inside him.

And so, set in a foreign place, with spectators and competitors from all around the shinobi world, Kiri knew that perhaps this was the stage where he could find any trace of his lineage, if there was. Surely, someone would know. But to come, merely as a medic would not make his time worth it. But he thought, if he could somehow compete, to show his ability, then someone would recognise him and he would be able to get some progress.

Taking a deep breath, he was determined. He entered into the office and found the clerk by the desk. As he approached, he caught sight of the few who wrote down their names. He saw quite the recognisable names, and was a bit hesitant when he realised that even his pact brother was joining. But then, he would remember his resolve and write down as many as he could. He would use all means necessary to go.
The Application Form
Name: Tsuyoshi Kiri (Hasegawa)
Rank: Mednin-in-Training
Combat Style: Destructive Ninjutsu
Bloodline/Core Ability: Nara
Kinjutsu: Jinchuuriki – Shadow Beast
Why You Should Represent the Hidden Cloud: I owe my life to this country and have sworn to protect it, honour it, and be its vanguard. More importantly, I will need to regain that honour by representing Kumogakure as valiantly and strong in any way or manner.
Medical Duty: As I am a Mednin-in-training, I may also help with any treatment and can be posted in the med tents.

He looked at what he wrote for a long while before he finally decided to let go of the pen. He raised his eyes to meet the clerk’s, but he remained silent. He then bowed courteously before turning to leave the place.

Word had spread fast. The rumours of a tournament of power held between all of the major countries, to be held in Tea Country had been floating around for a little while, but with the confirmation, Miraku knew it was something he couldn't pass up on. As someone who had always strove to become stronger and worked as an ANBU doing missions involving reconnaissance and assassinations, he was no stranger to combat. The idea of fighting strong opponents from other villages excited him unlike anything else had in the past years. Though he was unsure if he would be able to make the cut. The village had quite a few shinobi who were quite adept at combat, and ones who had proven themselves much more. But you can't succeed if you don't try, the thought running through his head as he walked towards the signup room inside of Torre Celeste.

Dressed up in more main-branch based attire, this wasn't the kind of situation where Miraku would be known as an ANBU. To keep their identities hidden, they would have to use their main-branch equivalent rank and gear. One thing he hadn't done is told Okuro about his plan to sign up. He was trained to be an ANBU, and to live in the shadows, so this was certainly something he would be told to avoid, but his urge to compete was too strong to pass on this opportunity. Although the old man would probably find out what Miraku was doing, he decided he'd deal with the consequences later. 'Better to ask for forgiveness than permission.' as they said.

Entering the room, there were a few people already there and seemingly signing up. Looking around he spotted the desk where one man sat with forms in front of him. Walking up to him, Miraku was given a form and told to fill it out and return it once finished. Taking a clipboard and a pen along with his application form, he walked off for a moment to look at the questions before filling it out, curious about what he should write down for some of the options. The basic information was easy, but the more open-ended stuff was always a pain; trying to figure out the best thing to say.

The Application Form said:
Name: Rikutsuchi Miraku
Rank: Jounin
Combat Style: High Speed; Heavy Taijutsu with Counter-attacking. Ninjutsu and Genjutsu for enhancements and counterplay.
Bloodline/Core Ability: Strategic Quick Learner
Kinjutsu: N/A
Why You Should Represent the Hidden Cloud: Calm, strategic thinker ready to represent my village. Due to my high speed and my ability to read and counter my opponents, I would make a good representative for a tournament involving fighting and duels. As a competitive person who is always striving to get stronger, I don't want us to lose and I want to experience more serious combat with other strong shinobi from other villages.
Medical Duty: N/A

As he finished writing, it seemed like people were steadily finishing their applications and taking their leave without much conversation. Although it would be nice to get to know the prospective teammates, no one here knew for sure if they were going to be selected, so maybe they just figured it wasn't worth bothering anyone here for the time being. As such, Miraku decided that would also be his best course of action. Walking back to the desk, he returned the pen and clipboard, submitting his application before attempting to take his leave.

Entering the tournament registration area, Junko gave a few greetings as he caught many eyes. The sennin was registering? Definitely would be interesting.

Grabbing a clipboard with the registration form, Junko began filling things out. Not taking a lot of time to finish, Junko turned the document in and began his way back to the Tsuyoshi Estate because apparently it was his turn to do something involving the kids and the academy. Ugh... apparently someone wasn’t fully listening to his wife this morning.

Name: Tsuyoshi Junko
Rank: Medical Sennin
Combat Style: Nintaijutsu
Bloodline/Core Ability: Well verse in many bloodlines and specialized abilities. Mainly, chakra control.

Kinjutsu: Rikudo Sennin

Why You Should Represent the Hidden Cloud: As a master combat medic trained by Daisuke and Akira Saito, I’ve grown quite powerful mentally and physically. I can take a loss as they’ve been the lessons to teach me how to win and I know how to conduct myself upon victory due to many losses. My power has been used in many battles, bringing many victories.

Overall, as an established leader of cloud, I can conduct myself in a professional manner and provide a force to be reckoned with during the tournament.

Medical Duty: Will be involved in medical tent duty.

Wandering into the registry. The young man wasn't adorned with any of his traditional shinobi gear; given he came on a day his duties weren't needed. Finding himself at the desk, exchanging a few words about the process and what to fill out in the form.

Taking the sheet, jotting down what he had to; looking over the contents until he was satisfied and handed it in. While he wasn't anything exceptional, the young-man was interested to see just how he fared when the going got tough.
Taking a moment to observe those who came and went in the office, he shrugged. Only noticing a few of the faces to a recognizable level, none of which he was terribly concerned about exchanging hellos or good-lucks with and too departed the building. Waiting for when the day came to begin the testing.
The Application Form said:
Name: Shieo
Rank: Chūnin
Combat Style: Genjutsu
Bloodline/Core Ability: Nothing exceptional, just a lot of coffee (Uchiha Reflavor)
Kinjutsu: Pending (?) {Might have one of the time of the tournament it's being reviewed}
Why You Should Represent the Hidden Cloud: Intrigued by the premise of the tournament and I wish to test myself; if I fit the bill to be a representative all the better to work towards improving myself
Medical Duty: Declined.

Kazumi had learned recently of the tournament that was to take place out of the village in a land far away. While most of the time he would have ignored the tournament sign ups that would happen inside the village as he didn’t really like showing off his skills to many people. But discovering the abilities of foreign ninja was important for the betterment of the village. In fact it would be great to keep note of these shinobi who fought in the arena to let his Sennin known about the threats that could be outside. After all there were going to be strong ninja out there in the fight… what if they decided to attack Kumogakure?

The sign up line was fairly short but it still housed many different shinobi of different ranks that were all looking to join this. He began to feel what he believed was the feeling of nerves. Or at least he thought they were nerves but having most of his body ripped out of him and replaced with mechanical puppetry made it a little more difficult to decide if it was butterflies or termites in his stomach.

The puppeteer finally reached the sign up sheet, finding that it was only a few little details that they already held on him. It would be a simple process to answer the series of questions, and Kazumi would rush through them all quickly before anyone could read what he had written. He didn’t want the spy’s information to get out, and someone to get the upper hand on him.

Sign up Sheet said:
The Application Form
Name: Maki Kazumi
Rank: Jounin
Combat Style: A jack of all trades, specialising in everything and nothing at all. Name a fighting style and he could probably do it.
Bloodline/Core Ability: Spiritualist
Kinjutsu: Human Puppet
Why You Should Represent the Hidden Cloud: Kazumi has served the village for years, even losing his limbs in a mission to have them replaced by puppet limbs. An unpredictable fighter who doesn't often use the same tricks every fight.
Medical Duty: As a spiritualist he can use fairly decent healing on others, just it takes longer for him to heal...

After he had written out all his information, he would stuff it into the box and walk out of the building content with his answers. Hopefully they were clearly written since his puppet arms were still working on the short motor skill function. Maybe a tune up would be required soon.
