[legend="Beyond The Sea"]Chi had managed to take the map from the page of the elemental book and transfer it onto a transparent sheet which she held over an acquired map of the sea within Arcadia. After traveling to the depths of the strange ancient city Chi was able to procure a boat using her parents' money. She was a lucky kid in a sense, even though her parents hated her and one of them probably wasn't technically actually related to her at least their distain allows for her to attain money from them if it means she'll leave the house. She shook this very thought from her mind as she approached the boat she was renting for the day. It was sitting in the water, and steam rolled off the top of the water. Chi bent down to touch it and it was hot to the touch for sure, but it felt good to the girl. She decided to get on with her mission and hopped in the boat.
The map, she figured, wouldn't lead her to the actual waterfall but a place along the edge where the sea meets the wall of the large cavern the ancient city sat in. She followed the map as best she cook, honestly it was hard for a twelve-year-old to follow a map like that on sea. There weren't a lot of landmarks to speak of, but eventually she came across the wall of the cavern and found nothing. She moved slowly along it inside the boat, pushing along the edge until a current of some kind caught her and the boat began to move freely. She didn't think too much of it, she was busy trying to find an opening of some kind along the wall. She didn't even notice the sound of the waterfall that was getting louder, drawing her small vessel closer and closer.
This wasn't the waterfall she had heard about, which was said to go into the depths of the earth. No, as she came upon it and finally noticed where she was headed she let out a yelp as her boat was sucked into a small opening in the wall and she was knocked out of it because of the small opening. She was sucked into the opening and down the waterfall into a separate cavern. She couldn't admire anything, however, as she ended her fall smacking into the water that gathered at the bottom.
She awoke to a burning sensation on her face, her legs still in the water but her torso pulled above. A light was shining from above her, and as she looked up she saw one of the fire creatures like what she found in the abandoned mineshaft. It had the shape of a wolf, and seemed to have been licking her face. She held it off as she stood up, keeping the excited creature from trying to jump on her or lick her more. She shook her legs trying to get the water out of her suit. She did handseals for the immolation armor and though her body heated up her flames were unable to appear. She was much too wet. She kept the jutsu going, however in an attempt to dry her suit in case she needed her phoenix form to protect her.
"This place is weird." Her voice echoed slightly, drawing the attention of other elementals who appeared and lit up the entire cavern. "That's… weirder." She walked cautiously through the cavern to the wall that all the fire elements were gathering. Their light shined on the wall behind them revealing a large mural of sorts that seemed to be drawn depicting a phoenix rebirthing into a woman. The woman that appeared from the ashes looked just like Kurai, and that’s when she knew for sure she had something to do with all this. However, just who was this woman? Was she really her mother, why was there a large cave mural of her in the cave of fire elementals? It was time that Chi finished this once and for all and confronted the woman. She was surprised she hadn't run into her in a while, she was going to have to draw her out somehow.
Her mission wasn't over quite yet… Seriously, though, she still had to figure out how to get out. As this thought hit her she fell to her knees and heard the bark of the wolf fire elemental next to her. She followed him through the cave, a long path with a breeze running through it that led them to an opening. She peered through and saw just another cave system. Once through the hole she turned to see the wolf had left her. She tried to burst into flames again and was successful finally, revealing a manmade cave system.
"Wait… I'm in the mineshaft?" She looked around confused. "How long was that path he led me on?" She wondered, starting the journey out of the mineshaft but not without covering the entrance into the elementals' cave. She didn't want someone coming across it and trying to destroy the elementals inside. "That must be how the elementals got into the mineshaft in the first place." Chi thought, thinking about the elementals that got into the mineshaft and guided her to the book.[/legend][legend="OOC; 885"][/legend]
