Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Arcing light pierced the partially cloudy sky above Soons Haven's merchant district. Shedding light on all its shady dealings and underground organizations. The focus of a single shinobi's mission today would be to expose one of the many villainous crooks that seek refuge in the crowded nature of the Bazaar.

Upon accepting this mission the young shinobi would be given information on his target based on already known knowledge. His target was Haku Maka, a young kunoichi who was an aspiring shinobi till she stopped coming to classes. Descending from the Haku bloodline she is said to be skilled in various water based ninjutsu. As for the reason she is wanted, she has had a couple run ins with selling information on shinobi enrolled in the Academy. Because of this, she had been placed in the bingo book as a target for capture to figure out her reasoning and put a halt to her devious actions. Her motives are currently unknown and so is her location. However, it can be inferred she is residing somewhere in town where dirty dealings can be taken care of away from the public eye.

The day had begun like any other, civilians chatter filled the warm air, kids bustled around the merchant shops, hooded folks kept away from the crowds, hugging the shadows for comfort. The young aspiring shinobi would have been instructed to work his way from the middle of the Bazaar outward in an attempt to find the Haku target. Seeing as the day was early, many courses of action could be taken. Asking around for someone who looked similar to the girl ranging to just checking under any old pothole for a secret entrance. Regardless the layout of the Bazaar remained the same, its center point the home to hermits and shopkeepers alike.

How would the shinobi begin his quest to find the Haku? Only time would tell.

“Damn, they must’ve really liked my work or something to send me out on another mission so soon,” he mumbled to as he walked through the streets of the Bazaar looking around for the target. [It wasn’t even a weeks worth of time between assignments before they put me back out in Suna working. If you can even call this Suna…] the stench of the locals here in the Bazaar didn’t have the same sweet scent of the citizens within the Village Gates. Their dirt was the same but they had a much grimier look to them.

Looking off into the distance, Nazomeku could see the beautiful buildings of Soon’s Haven. Even though he knew both were equally steeped in corruption, probably more Soon’s Haven than the denizens of The Bazaar, yet to Nazo, they were both one in the same. The Bazaar operated as a dirty left hand for the clean right hand of Soon’s Haven. It was still daytime so not all of the lowlifes were out. The ones who acted “upstanding,” in this place for the dirty dirties were out and about smiling, selling half-assed pieces of merchandise to half-hearted buyers.

Nazo sighed heavily and shook his head, clearing his thoughts and focusing again on his teachings from the academy. It was the same routine as last time. He needed to refocus his attention and clear his mind so that he could analyze the situation and get to work. His fingers dug in his pockets and pulled out the info card that he was given at the Kazekage Tower once his mission request was approved.

“Often complains about being cold and is often seen wearing multiple layers of wool and fur; something that makes her stand out in a crowd.” His eyebrow twitched as he continued to read it further. “Never graduated the academy because of her grades the past two years. Charged for theft…dat dat dat…,” skipping over lines in the briefing. “She was actively stealing records from the academy that described various shinobi.” His eyes shot back up to the top of the info card that described her physical appearance. “Pale skin and dark shoulder-length hair. Got it.”

He tucked the info card back into his pocket and continued walking through the streets of the bazaar, his focus now intently on finding anyone who wore layers of wool and fur. [So this chick is an ice-sickle sucking demon girl in a land known for its blazingly hot sun in the daytime. That’s very strange… not only that but she is has advanced abilities and can’t make it out of the academy? Yeah, something definitely isn’t right here. For some reason I have a bad feeling about how this is going to go down…]

Progressing through the innards of the Bazaar buildings became much more lively, and comfortable. Many homes and shops were made of bricks while others made of sandstone, all of the above would have there door wide open and smiles on their face. Sadly, this was the shadiest part of town, seeing as smart scum tend to move away from crime hotspots in order to appear innocent. The inner sections of the Bazaar made for the perfect hiding place, along with plenty of middle class families, many potential evil-doers resided, this was the way of the world. Thus we come back to the young shinobi's mission, as he focuses his mind in order to find his target.

As the boy perused down one of the many market streets of Soon's Haven, the crowd around him began to dwindle as he progressed down the avenue. The streets grew quieter and much more strange. Open door shops had vanished and in there stead, shady men and women would watch the street intently with clear malicious intent from the various windows and doors dotting the sides of the street. Soon enough the young shinobi would find himself nearly alone on the street, few others closing their windows at the sight of him.

As the boy continued to walk through the nearly empty street, had his eyes been focused forward looking for anyone at all, he would notice a figure moving from the streets into an alley after exchanging glances of the shinobi. As the figure scurried into the alley, light shown onto its back, revealing shoulder length black hair. Its footsteps would trail off as it shuffled through the alley.

Nothing really was missed by the Senju. His senses and awareness were very keen although he tried to act as nonchalant as he could about everything that happened around him… well, at least most times he tried to give off this demeanor. Being a Senju though and having access to the natural energy within the world, he was too able to feel the feelings of others, although it wasn’t a very sharpened skill of his yet, it helped him at times like these… when he was hunting someone, and when he was entering new territory.

As a Senju servant in the side-branch, there was very little that he had to involve himself here in Soon’s Haven. He didn’t even remember a time coming to this place to shop for anything. He tried to think a little bit harder about it.

Nope. Not once.

[The crowd’s thinning out,] he confirmed to himself, mentally repeating what his eyes were witnessing. He wasn’t even exactly sure where he was walking to or where this road would take him. Most people, in the cities and avenues didn’t even dare walk to the end of most main streets like this because of fear of the unknown. They just simply wasn’t sure at the end, or what type of people would be waiting for them in the alleyways that led to the other side.

[Eh, the other side.. Everyone’s always so fearful of the other,] he chuckled to himself, giving a light smile and grin to those who stared at him as he strolled through the street. The residences thinning out and bnightclubss, night clubs, harem shops, you name it…the usual type of places where typical bad shit could happen. [Now I know why the mothers don’t let their children don’t come down far from the residences back there.]

His eyes never wavered from what was ahead of them. If one was paying close attention to him, tracking the tracker per-se, they would notice his eyes darting from left to right profiling every single person that was visible. This was the only way that he would be able to confirm wool or fur coat, and shoulder length hair from a distance.

A solitary lamp post up ahead had made a silhouette and cast a long shadow on one particular pair of people standing close yet under the pole. One person was facing Nazo and the other had his or her back turned. As Nazo got closer, probably about twenty feet or so away, the one with their back turned broke out into a sprint down the alley they were standing at the opening of.

[Shoulder length black hair!] The quick twirl and run of the person had showed this, and the light that carried off her back, assuming it was a her, too shown the fur hood of her cape. The person that she was standing there with had tried to square up with Nazo as he too came running forward.

Thinking quickly, and not desiring to waste chakra for a regular civilian who was in cohorts with this shinobi criminal, he did a slight wall walk off the building closest to the Senju (from the side he was running from) and jump kicked the guy, his foot catching most of his neck, knocking him unconscious. As he spun in the air he landed facing down the alley, keeping his eyes on the target.

“Sorry bud, but you should know I could get you in serious trouble for helping her. It’s best if you just take a nap and act like this never happened.” His second sentence was yelled as he sprinted down the alleyway after the suspected criminal.

Following the thud of a body onto the pavement. The young shinobi would sprint down the alleyway in pursuit of the being with shoulder-length hair. As he ran the pavement would gradually vanish along the ground till the boy was running on powdery sand. Had the boy kept his eyes on the target as he ran, the walls would begin to shift from a sandstone-ish brick color, to a flat beige.

Two glints of light passing through the air darted toward the young shinobi aimed for his chest. As the two figures sped closer and closer, another glint would reveal them to be kunai. Without turning around the figure had thrown two kunai and kept running forward before stopping at what appeared to be a dead end.

The alleyway they had been running down had been rather long, lasting a good minute of a full blown sprint. Strange was the least that could be said about this alley, and it doesn't end there. Following a metal clank a beam of light would shine upon the otherwise dark alley. Once one's eyes adjusted it could be determined that this was a doorway leading into a strange white room, where visible air leaked out. At the center of the doorway the figure would walk inside, the spotlight revealing the figure was a girl, wearing a dark leather cloak with a fur lining at the collar. She would turn slowly to face outside revealing her face.
bingo%20top.png

At the current distance they would have been at had the two kept running, her eyes were decieving and hard to pinpoint there color, although her pale skin also drew out more features as it was naturally reflective. Had one looked hard enough they even could have seen her slightly rattling. She would call out as she vanished from the doorway with a quick leap upward out of sight, "What's your problem!?"

[I wonder if this is what the life of an ANBU is like, always chasing and hunting people,] he thought to himself as he sprinted down the alleyway. The different stages of color would progress as the hunt continued for a few minutes or so although it was unimportant.

What Nazo had to keep focused on and did, was the danger ahead of him. The glints of light were barely visible in the shadows of the alleyway, yet his prior experience chasing another e-ranked criminal had prepared him for watching out for traps and actions taken by the suspect to slow him down. Rather than taking a defensive action such as drawing a kunai of his own to deflect the two that came at him, he simply rolled forward, under them.

This way, he didn’t really lose any speed or much ground as he sprung back up to keep chasing the girl. He caught her face for just a moments notice as she would turn and slip into what appeared to be some sort of secret or hidden door. [Damn it… she knew where she was going,] he thought to himself in frustration. He thought that this was going to be even easier than the last and that the girl had run herself into a dead end unknowingly. Yet the exact opposite was true and now Nazo had to be even more on his guard.

When she stepped into the white room, the shadows helped him pick out the fur around her dark leather cloak, and make out the features of her pale face. [This is definitely the target.]

She would scream a question at him, which he felt was quite rhetorical in nature. She knew what his problem was, and it was her. He wouldn’t have been going through all of this trouble trying to find and catch her, if he didn’t have a problem with her. A second thought about the situation and the answer to that question led him to actually thinking otherwise. It was only his problem because he took up the mission for the sake of the Kazekage. In other words, it was truly the village’s problem, and him being a shinobi of the village, it too had equally become his problem.

In the heat of the moment, the young Senju seemed to grasp a firmer sense of honor, loyalty and integrity of the Shinobi Code.

He would slide into the door, not knowing if it was going to close or not. Looking upwards in the white room, he couldn’t quite make out what he was looking at and was highly uncertain of making the same jump upwards as she did, yet that was part of his mission. Tracking this girl at any and all costs. Nevertheless, it was an E-rank mission at that, so she couldn’t be that dangerous, right?

He stepped out on faith and too jumped upwards, not knowing where he would land or what would be waiting for him…

As the young shinboi entered the white room, the glare subsided providing strange details of the room. For instance, the walls and floor were both a titanium white color, with lamps inside causing the glare to those outside the building. The furniture in the room would give it the appearance of a normal living room. Dinner table, a seating area to host guests, and a kitchen. When the boy looked above he could see a solid ceiling with the same titanium white color.

Following suit as the person before him, he would jump directly up toward the rather low hanging roof. When usually a person jumps into the ceiling they fall back down with a bump on their head. However, as the young shinobi's head came into contact with the roof, a large ripple pattern would emit as he would pass through it like water. The climax of his jumping height was assisted by a pull from the ceiling to the floor above, this was a strange genjutsu indeed. Once pulled up out from the floor the boy would find himself in a rather cold and dark room, with only a single hanging chandelier. A very tomboyish laugh would shake the room before being followed by the voice of the same figure in the doorway, "You never answered my question..."

The voice trailed off laughing once again before the cackle would come to an abrupt halt, "I take it you are here about that little gig back at the Academy?" With this the room would be covered in an iridescent teal light for a short moment, revealing the entire room was just a stone cube, similar to a prison cell. At the opposite side of the room from the boy, the girl with the dark coat would be seen for a breif moment, her cold eyes piercing the dark before the room's light gave out.

With the darkness rushing, the sound of hands being pressed together extremely quickly would be heard from across the room before the light from the chandelier would catch the glint of a large flying chakram of ice toward the boy at a blinding speed while letting out a violent scream, "I don't have time to mess around with small time shinobi for a small time job!"

The ceiling that his head came into contact seemed to give way to a floor which he passed through easily. The touch of his head and the ceiling floor sent a chill down his spine as the ceiling was cold. Ice cold. When he was brought up to the floor, his surroundings were even more strange than the simple living room floor plan that he had witnessed just moments earlier at the height of his jump.

Now he was standing in a stone cube, with an iced chandelier above his head. The voice of the girl seemed to echo in the small room, even though she was nowhere to be found.

“You already know what this is about,” he retorted back to her, wondering why it was she was hiding so heavily. Moments later a scream and a whistle brought the Senju's attention to the attack that came flying at him. It was close, but he was just barely able to raise a half-circled mokuton shield in front of him to shatter the ice chakram that was hurled at him.

“If I’m such a small time shinobi, why don’t you come out and stop running from me, huh?” he taunted back at the girl. His analysis of the situation was still taking time to catch on to what exactly was going on. The ninja info card didn’t give a complete description of the abilities of a Haku, other than they are ice users. The air was frigid, as his breathes could be seen, laced with iced water crystals before they evaporated and were followed by another exhale.

He had two urges… one was to wait it out and continue to react to what this girl did, defensively until he could figure out her technique and counter. The other was to rage a little bit, and utilize his natural energy in tandem with his regular chakra pool to send out a wide-ranged scattered attack within the room just to see if he could hit her. The second would be a waste, not knowing if she was even truly in the room or not, or if this was a genjutsu. So he would settle for the slower approach.

[If only she would give me some sort of opening…] he thought to himself.

"Who says I was ever running FROM you." Her voice would deepen for a breif moment before the chamber was once again casted in light. This time from the chandelier, the four prongs of candelwax blazed brightly above. The girl now shown in full light had her hands pressed together with smirk on her face, followed by a series of seals ending with her words, "If I was running from you why would I have found the courage randomly to face you?"

Her smirk vanished as her face became serious, the cold air would seem distilled at first before swirling at the base of her feet. In a matter of seconds the cold room would seem bitterly freezing as the light above would dwindle to a faint whisper. With a cast forth of her hand toward the shinobi, the condensation created from the above chandelier's lit candle mixing with the cold atmosphere of the cube gave just enough condensation for chakra to pull from it toward the girl, amassing itself to a vicious thrashing torrent as she launched it toward the shinobi. It's shape would refine into that of a piercing fang as it crossed the room.

As she launched the jutsu she would smirk, she hadn't finished the academy, however she was way above her class.

[She talks too damn much,] he thought as he continued to play it defensively, utilizing the maintained half-domed mokuton shield to guard against the much larger ice attack that came crashing down upon him.

The shield cracked and broke, proving the strength of this larger ice attack that came at him. It was enough to protect him, but not enough to continue to do so unless remade or fortified with further chakra infusion.

Nevertheless, it was time to go to plan B. She stood before Nazo on the opposite side of the room and more than likely wasn’t expecting the unexpected. Nazo had to do something to attempt to get her to get off balanced. This setting was in her favor and the Senju didn’t like it. Jumping upwards where he would be eye-level with the chandelier, he would create a mokuton staff and utilize his smash technique, swinging ferociously at the iced chandelier in hopes that it would break and crumble to the ground.

As he came down from the jump, he would disperse the mokuton staff and create hand seals. Upon his landing, he would activate the attack stone bullet, sending a football-sized chunk of rock towards the opponent who, for now, was standing still.

The strategy was to get her off her spot, so when she moved to dodge this initial stone bullet attack, the charged chakra that Nazo had prepared would activate his doton: gravel shift, technique, shifting the foothold of her landing spot, bringing her down to the ground.

He was hopeful this strategy would work; canceling out her main means of attack so far, the chandelier where her first two attacks came from, inside of the room. Secondly, the diversionary attack of the stone bullet leading to the trapping gravel shift technique.

As the attack broke through his shield but didn't strike clear into her mark, she began to become flustered. Her arrogant nature made her an easy target for scams. Which most likely why she ended up in a hole in the wall place like this. Her frustration could be seen on her face as the boy now advanced.

She would appear distraught as he brought down the chandelier with a quick smack seeing through her strategy of manifesting water. Quickly she would retort as he landed before he cast his jutsu he was weaving, "So you aren't just some random small fry, huh?" At this point her voice was beginning to crack, she was obviously becoming nervous and less confident of herself. Despite her attitude previously, which had been a clear facade, she still seemed to be a child at heart and when her plans didn't go her way she became upset.

As the boy launched the stone at her she would watch for any means of foul play, knowing this one was clever. However, she had only anticipated another attack from the boy to follow up the stone thrown. As she pivoted out of the way of the stone bolt, her right foot would catch the loose gravel beneath her foot, causing it to slip out from under her. With a clench of her teeth and a full extension of her left leg, she leaped into the air in a very uncoordinated manner. Now wide open for an attack she used the time she salvaged from leaping into the air to begin to form handseals.

With an extended dramatic inhale, the girl would raise her head toward the ceiling before looking down below herself at her opponent, exhaling a gust of frozen air that would circulate through the room, slowing down even the fastest opponents due to the cold's ability to fatigue.

(She is still airborne while casting the jutsu, and is still airborne at the end of the post.)

The battle was intensifying and everything was happening so quickly. Nazo was proud of himself to be keeping up with this shinobi of superior skill and technique than his own, yet he didn’t allow the thought to linger long enough to cloud his vision from the objective.

He still needed to bring her down and capture her alive, which was still another layer of difficulty in and of itself.

His gravel shift trap didn’t work. It was very easily the thing that brought down the last suspect, yet he knew that they both were in different leagues. The first bingo book guy was just some tech-nerd civilian who utilized cameras to get information for someone that he wasn’t briefed on, due to his rank.

Yet this chick, was a shinobi herself and had the skills to back it up. Her nimbleness in avoiding his gravel shift proved that, although it just led her to being open for another attack. Her hand seals flashed and the icy wind pushed the Senju back a few feet. His arms, shooting up over his face to cover himself from the teeth like scratching of the ice, his chest and arms which was open and didn’t have the cover any clothing too felt this bitter pain.

Gritting his teeth he pushed through it and created two quick seals, activating his suiton technique “water gun,” which he would supplement with additional chakra to augment it into a mokuton attack. Thrusting his open palm outward, he would aim this high pressure stream of wood straight to the gut of the girl hoping to slam her up against the wall.

If this did or didn’t work, it wouldn’t matter. For Nazo had one more idea that he hoped would end this as he could feel his chakra reserves depleting.

Her face corkscrewed into a smile as she watched the biting icy wind, push the shinobi back. As she was falling through the air she was able to come up with one last plan before a single stream of high powered wood would slam into her body. At first her reaction was very blank, before the wood would push her through the air toward the wall.

Hanging limp by the wooden stream she seemed completely unconscious as it sped closer and closer to the wall. However, her head would flick back up toward the shinobi with a smirk. Her body would turn into ice as it was slammed into the wall, shattering to pieces revealing her to be a clone. At this moment it would dawn on the shinobi that she must have used a clone jutsu while the lights flickered. The original body had casted all of the jutsu from the shadows behind the clone, and when the time came she exuded all her energy into a clone that could combat the wood manipulator. But where was the real body?

This was answered soon enough as ice would rush down the wooden stream toward the shinobis hand. A voice would ring out as a whistling sound also closed in from behind him, "Lets see how you fight on two fronts!" Had the boy turned around to look for what was emitting the sound he would see what appeared to be the real girl who looked quite rough after exuding so much chakra, launching herself at him with a kunai.

To be technical, the ice rushing down the wood was quick, but not quicker than the short-ranged kunai thrust the Haku was performing. Her distance was close, approximately four feet, her lunge gave her the speed needed to close the gape towards the shinobi. This plan had been in the works from the start.

Both of the young shinobi were not giving up, and this was fueling Nazomeku’s lust for power, his hidden passion to outdo all other forms of competition and prove not only to himself but to whoever else was watching the progression of this young child that he could become a shinobi to reckon with.

Only through the hollowness of the room, and the additional footsteps he heard clanging off the cold stone, could he tell that he was being pincered by an attack from his backside as well as his front.

Unfortunately for him his mokuton augmentation wasn’t advanced enough to break off the wooden stream at mid-level to be utilized as a counter to the attack behind him and stop the ice that quickly consumed the wood to attempt to freeze him.

Instead he broke off the entire wooden stream, freeing both hands entirely to now focus on the lunging child behind him. Thinking back to the moments where she had tossed kunai at him before, during the chase and at the beginning of this fight in the room, she had used her left hand, signaling that her left hand was her dominant one.

Therefore, Nazo spun to his right, utilizing his dominant right hand to catch her at the wrist, while bringing his left fist around to punch her squarely in the gut.

If she didn’t make any last second maneuvers to counter this attack, he would drop her quickly to the floor using up some of the deepest recesses of his small chakra pool to create a mokuton prison around the girl. He would bind her at the feet, waist and arms behind her back and again at the wrists.

He couldn’t allow her to escape even though she too seemed physically exhausted and her chakra was at the brink. Nazo didn’t want to tap out his chakra and begin reaching into his natural energy pool. If that had happened, he would surely pass out and fail his mission. To him, failure wasn’t an option.

She had him cornered she thought. She had no idea the extent of the wood manipulators control of his craft, which took her by surprise when he removed his hand from the wooden stream. She would thrust forth with everything she had left into her kunai.

She had realized she lost once his grip met her wrist. Once her wrist had been caught she was pulled in like a reeling fish, straight into the fierce gut blow which caused her to drop to her knees. All her fighting spirit leaving her body as she pushed her fist in the direction of his gut in one last attempt at at least hitting the boy. Regardless of whether she hit him or not, she would than collapse face first to the found from over consumption of chakra and the swift blow to her stomach.

The boy would proceed to restrain her with his wood style, binding her at the feet, waits, and arms behind her back, and also at the wrists.

Had the boy decided to give any last remarks to his opponent was up to him. However, the end result either way was that the mission was completed.

[Mission Complete]
