Life, a bittersweet experience from the start of life to the end of life. Unfortunately for our hero, his life was taking a turn for the worse, but it still had some positive upbeat moments mixed in there.
This whole downturn in his life had begun when he decided to take up teaching at the academy along with being promoted to one of the medical chiefs of the branch. The balancing of these jobs were becoming more and more taxing on his family especially his daughter who continually asked her mother where he was and when he was going to come home. Sadly, it was having a devastating effect on his wife as well as she believed she was losing him more and more to work and her gut feeling continually told her that something didn't seem right with her husband. It wasn't anything regarding cheating or his assistances which she always had a little jealousy for because they were getting more of his attention than she was and she was married to him in the eyes of Lord Byakko.
Much to the chagrin of the family of Byakko, this work schedule continually built tension between the family until one day, Lady Yanshi confronted her husband at the hospital where he was merely doing paperwork and informed him that if he didn't cut back on his work, they were going to have to sit down with Lord Byakko and remove the Celestrial vows that tied them together.
Obviously, this concerned Kyuji and the couple talked about it for a long time agreeing that he would cut down on his teaching in the academy to start to give the family more of his time, but he had to keep his hectic schedule at the hospital in order to keep his job and to continually teach and mentor two of his bright-minded students: Uziuke and Azusa.
Of course, one would think the couple talking about the future would remove any feelings of doubt or frustration among them. But, it appeared his wife was still bitter towards his students getting more time with him than normal medics-in-training did. The main reason was Kyuji saw the potential in them and he needed to consider the future of the branch incase someone were to die or retire as they needed more medics that were ready to lead a team or teach. That was why he was focusing on Uziuke and Azusa so much, but admittedly he hadn't seen either of them for a few days.
Anyways, the descendant of Byakko was sitting at one of the many desks in the Byakko family's housing area writing away with his only hand struggling to put pen to the paper since his left hand was not his dominant hand and his other side had been lost in a fight with Toraono Kuro. But, he would continue to try to write and he was working merely on his will for when and if he died along with a letter to his apprentices and another for the medical branch.
He would work on these pieces of "literature" for quite awhile before falling asleep while writing. When he awoke, he would see that he mistakenly had smudged the ink from his pen that hadn't dried on the papers and drooled on the material making it dirty, messy, and unprofessional so he crumpled the papers and set his pen down. He then crawled into bed where his wife had been sleeping already and wrapped his arms around her and went to sleep. Lady Yanshi was smiling at this sign of affection as she drifted back to sleep.
