"Crap!"
His body skidded across the ground, feet firmly planted as a trail of dirt followed his trajectory backwards. Whether it was due to him being far to overconfident or simply a lack of skills, Kouza found himself hanging on for dear life. Pushing him back was a rather large boar, one that had been terrorizing the local fields and had been responsible for quite a few sow disappearances from several farms in the area. Yet here was Kouza, his blade positioned horizontally with a palm flatted along it's side while tusks pressed against the opposite end. The boar was a lot stronger than he had took it for and if he had not been armed with a blade then Kouza more than likely would have felt the full brunt of the wild creatures charge. Still, he was in a pressing situation as looking over his shoulder he could see that open space was running rather short and that he was on a collision course with a tree. The last thing he needed was to be pinned with an inability to move by such a animal that Kouza started to show signs of panic as his eyes widened and he came up with a list of half-thought out options to avoid that scenario. While his instinct told him to slice his blade outwards, the fact that he was currently stuck between a rock and a hard place had made that option completely improbable.
"Crap crap crap crap crap crap crap..."
He ground his teeth together, looking back over his should once more to see how much ground he had left to lose. Seeing the few yards which were left, Kouza's chest suddenly experienced a sinking feeling. As if caught within a sensory whirlpool, he could see his vision blurring while a single exhale from his lips produced something weird. He could see his breath as easily as if he had breathed amidst winter, which was followed rapidly be the boar's body developing sections of ice. He'd find his eyes widened, shocked at how a part of himself that he had forgotten would find itself surfacing here and now. He was a son of Koroki, a man whom he had been told by Masa as having been born with a kekkei genkai. What was told to him was vague but it had been confirmed when he was old enough to grasp the concept as his chakra paper test had shown that he possessed both wind and water chakra. Clenching his teeth tighter, an annoyance would cloak over him as the freezing amplified stopping the boar in it's tracks. With a burst of rage Kouza's blade would be freed and brought with a diagonal slash which easily cut through it's neckline.
As a minutes passed Kouza stood there, with his eyes wide as he was frustrated. Frustrated that his kekkei genkai of ice control would awaken now and frustrated that it was his father's blood which had saved him not his own skill. As the ice began to thaw, he was left with a question regarding his resolve...
