Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Ziren was back in the Forest of Death, training, when he came by the little hut that Soku used to live in. It was now just ashes. He was glad that Takeshi took her into his clan houses. This place is now the second place that Ziren has a lot of memories of now. This was the place that he fought his evil self to have full control of his body. Where he fought Uchiha Kuro, and learned that Maru isn't all that bad as everyone thought of him as. Where he actually learned about Soku's history. He has almost always chose to train himself here of all places. Where he feels good, not worried about training with his blood powers.

Ziren made his blood roses, out of his own blood, a weapon both beautiful and dangerous. He figured since his ANBU name is Blood Rose, it would be a good weapon to have as well. He grabbed a few and threw them at a boulder, the petals separating and slicing through the boulder cutting it into pieces.

He smiled at how well he was getting into his training. But then his muscles tensed up. He couldn't move at all. He couldn't hear his own blood. He knew what it was. And who it was coming from.

"Jirosho! Show yourself!
You coward!"
Ziren yelled.

Jirosho came out of some foliage, an evil smile on his face. Blood came out of him and it was a blood spear. He held it in his hand and pointed it at Ziren. Only inches away from his neck. "Still weak as ever little brother. And my my my. Your eyes have evolved." What he meant by that, was Ziren's eyes was permanently bloodified. Blood swirled around Ziren's irises as he glared at his older brother. Angry that he can't do anything about Jirosho stopping his blood.

He often came here sometimes to reminisce though most days Yukio would be here on business for the branch there was little reason to expect anyone to be there at this time most preferring to stay away from the area not having the most inviting name. However that day he would find himself with company taking his hands from the jacket as the Captain cracked his neck, recalling meeting Ziren not too long ago asking the young AiT too keep himself out of trouble and yet this is the situation that presented itself rising his voice.

"So as I am now I'm here and already losing my patience already mind explaining what's going on here." Approaching the two there was a prolonged sigh seeming quite calm given the situation waving a hand to Jirosho. "I know of Ziren a student of mine for many years now, however, you I don't know given what I am witnessing there seems to be bad blood here quite literally. So do us both a favour cease the hostilities before I make you."

Continuing to move forward Yukio slid his gloves over tensed fists though he spoke in a calm and refined tone the Narrowed eyes and sharp glare told another story entirely safe to say with everything going on over the last few months the ability to remain calm with the younger generation was thinning. Though now was not the time first things first the Hyuuga wished to discover who this new individual was who dared threaten his student.

Jirosho's fun was cut off when he heard a new voice. He turned around, still binding Ziren's blood in place, to look at Yukio. He was kind of annoyed about this. "Don't worry. This is family business. That should have been settled eighteen years ago."

Jirosho turned back to his little brother. Why was it that this kid seems more powerful than when they first met many months ago? When Ziren could barely stop him and some goons from robbing a bank?

Ziren's eyes got wide, seeing Yukio standing there. After their talk about whether Ziren should stay in the ANBU branch, he thought that Yukio must have hated him, if not then just tolerated him. But here he is, standing in front of Jirosho.

Ziren strained to get out of the blood break, but he couldn't move. He was finding it hard to breathe with his blood not moving. His heart not getting the right amount of blood it needs flowing through it.

Jirosho heard Yukio's blood flow coming near him. He didn't have time for this. "I gotta say. Getting my little brother is going to be a lot more fun than I thought. Maybe I'll let him live another day...
Just to see him squirm in pain when he thinks he has gotten strong enough to take me on!"

With that said. He released the blood break on Ziren, but kept his blood spear out, looking at the Hakemei eyes of the Hyuuga.

"Ah. See, you are just like me.
I sense that those eyes are not your own. We both want power. Killing my brother when he thinks he is at the top of his strength will suffice for me."

A tsk sound was the first thing to escape the Hyuuga's lips rolling his eyes at Jirosho's confidence, something he was used to seeing amongst the ranks of the ANBU branch and having been around Maru for a number of years such things went right over his head. "A family business? You just go around killing your own kin? safe to say I'm quite happy I haven't seen Ziren do any of this and do you know why?" waving his hand in gestures to emphasise the point his finger came to rest on Ziren. "Because he unlike the rest of you has learned to earn respect from his past actions."

It was praise towards ZIren's progress plain and simple but also a jab at his brother's actions but the act of pointing the spear at Ziren did not phase the Hyuuga in the slightest tilting his head down to the Student and giving him a quick nod to enforce that everything would be alright. This would not last long, however, his attention swiftly returning to the assailant the words spoken "Now now i would stop there, Comparing us will only end poorly for you. You seem like you do this as sport though we may have done the same act mine the reasons behind them are far from the same."

Coming to a stop a few feet away it was true while the spear was so close to Ziren it would make the situation tricky though there were a few ideas passing through the Hyuuga's mind his experience in the field refining his thought process in how to handle a difficult situation though whether such ideas would work or not only time would tell, time he may not have a lot of at this very moment.

Jirosho seen Yukio advance. He knew full well not to let an enemy get too close. He let the blood spear retreat back into his skin and looked at the Hyuuga.

"I will say this. If my brother even wants to stand a chance against me.
He will need to get stronger. He will need to learn to kill. Because I certainly won't stop coming after him until he does."

Ziren was let go of the blood break. He coughed up blood. He processed what his brother was saying. All this time he tried his damndest to not kill or even severely hurt others. Especially since he got into trouble about not controlling himself.

Then what Yukio said surprised him. He earned back his respect. Ziren got up, his body shaking, and he got in between his brother and Yukio.

"Dont worry Yukio. I will learn to get to be stronger, without having to kill.
I won't make the same mistakes as I did in the past."

Jirosho laughed. Just the thought of his little brother coming out victorious when he is in this weak state made him laugh. "You better hope so. Because I am also getting allies. I have a lot of the criminals and small gangs working under my thumb at your precious little village. Just like how I did at Kumogakure. Sadly they caught on and put me on the bingo book there."

Ziren looked at Jirosho with his own permanent blood eyes. He was in a fighting stance, but still feel weak from the blood break.

"you certainly do have a one track mind don't you, I don't even know your name yet I do see you are never going to show some respect so lets make this simple, you've made some mistakes here, however, I'm not one to delve into details there's no point." Looking down to Ziren it was clear to Yukio that he still had some growing to do but his heart was in the right place, placing a hand on the AiT's shoulder speaking to him as a Captain now.

"I know you see this as your problem however you are in no condition to do anything here in your condition so please, allow me to show you what a Shinobi can do given enough time and effort." Moving Ziren aside his vision came to rest back on the Chogukai a thin smile creeping across the Hyuuga's features. "Now let's get something clear here, I'm a patient man, Always willing to give another chance however you show nothing but ill intent and as such your a threat to the village."

There was a slight pause a slight sigh as he once again listening to the words spoken. "Criminals? Small Gangs? Well if I didn't already have a reason to stop you from leaving I do now sorry to say but you're not going anywhere. So let me show you the difference between you and me." With that, he formed a swift series of hand seals but never spoke a word of what he was doing the smile being wiped off his face once again replaced with the piercing glare of his Hakumei.

[Used Torment of the Physical Plain Mastered]

Jirosho smiled. "Oh please.
I've kept them from actually coming together to do any harm to your village. I'm more interested in pushing my brother past his limits of sanity. See how high and mighty he really is with that level head he thinks he has. All of what I do. Is to ensure that he suffers."

Ziren glared at his brother. He gritted his teeth, he wasn't going to let this happen. No way in hell! He was going to charge, but he felt a hand on his shoulder. It was Yukio. He was glad the Captain was there with him. His mind flash backed to the first time he met the guy. He was at the library, looking around to find out who he was. Frankly, he got in trouble because he also said that he thought he was under some sort of curse too. How they both have grown since then. Yukio was the person that inspired Ziren to think of joining the ANBU.

Jirosho seen Yukio's hands move at lightning speed. And then there was nothing. He found himself back at Kumogakure. He was the same age as he was now, 25. He seen his brother there too,18. Their parents were alive. And their attention was only focused on Ziren. Seeing as how Ziren possessed the permanent blood eyes as their father. And is showing promise of special chakra that their mother had, he was surely the star child. He challenged his little brother to a fight to the death. And somehow, Ziren would always come out on top. And he would keep hearing praises from their parents to Ziren.

Finally, they fought once again, and this time, Jirosho seen something different in his eyes. Other than the blood swirling around the irises. He was so focused on it that he couldn't dodge an attack and found a blood sword in his stomach. He could hear their parents talking to Ziren, knowing of what Jirosho would come to in another life. That he would get them killed. And he would hunt down Ziren. They knew that Ziren was special, like their mother was.

Back in reality, Jirosho screamed out, he grabbed his imaginary wounds and looked at the Hyuuga. His eyes blood red. He then looked at his little brother.

"Next time you won't get off so easily little brother. I'll make sure of it." With that said, Jirosho walked out of the opening of the Forest.

Ziren looked at Yukio. He was glad that he was there to stop Jirosho. If not... Ziren pushed the thought out of his mind. Right now, Jirosho was licking his wounds somewhere from that Genjustu.

He sighed. There was much that was needed to be said. "First off. I want to say thank you. And secondly, I want to get stronger. To be able to fight him on my own.
Look I know that right now, I am weak. But I don't want to keep depending on others for my own problems. Especially since I should be expected to help with problems other than my own."

Ziren had a determined look in his blood swirling eyes. Right now. There was no other option but to get stronger. To be able to beat his brother so he won't hurt anyone else.

Yukio watched the results straight-faced though coming across to most as caring and gentle this was different showing cold indifference to the man's suffering watching him cry out with little to no reaction dismissing his threats with a wave of his hand. "I would prefer you not, let's say next time your uses to me will have run dry. What I gave you today was but a sample, become a threat to the village and those who reside within and I'll make you scream a symphony for me." His eyes darkened at that moment though he didn't see the man as any real threat to Ziren that threat was very real it was best not to take action and simply use Jirosho as bait to lure out his associates.

With the threat gone and peace returned Yukio turned back to face Ziren though the cold look remained on his features eyes narrowing to the AiT. "I hope you understand this isn't a minor transgression, though you may consider this a family matter you are a citizen and Shinobi of leaf and as such under our care. If you want to grow then wipe thoughts of beating him out of your mind, for now, the path such an objective leads down only ends in regret. Instead focus on what could be if you used those powers for the good of others for the village as a whole." Those words had experience behind them Yukio had been a Shinobi for most of his life even as a child.

Walking away from Ziren at that moment there was a tired look in Yukio's eyes the amount of pickup he has been doing over the last few months starting to drain what little stamina the Hyuuga had left. "Getting strong is never a bad thing, however, getting strong for the right reason is the true path of any Shinobi. If all in the younger generation could learn that maybe I wouldn't have to keep cleaning up after you all."

Ziren listened to what Yukio had to say. It was true. That the Leaf was his home, and everyone in it felt like family. But ever since he messed up and had to talk to Yukio about his past actions. He felt that everyone had pushed away from him. Only people that he could go and talk to was Soku, and ironically Maru. It eased Ziren's mind that Yukio still had faith in him. That he was still considered part if the Leaf and ANBU family.

He then spoke, "Yukio. I know that it may seem that I have this personal vendetta against my brother. Even after I found out about that he sent a mercenary to kill my parents. And yes. I do want to get stronger. But it's not for all the fame and glory. I want to get stronger to defend the Leaf. So that others can actually depend on me and not the other way around. From meeting my brother a few times before,
I now know what he is capable of. And I want to get stronger and stop him. Not for revenge. But for the sake of protecting the Leaf Village. And if I have to take the long path before finally meeting him on equal standards, then let me help you clean up these messes. It's the least that I can do, being part of the branch. And as a payment for my past mistakes."

Ziren caught up and walked by Yukio. "I have grown much. Since when we first met. I still mess up. But that's because I am just a human. Just like you.
And as such. Nobody can do all the cleaning up on their own. And as your student, an ANBU in training. I accept this responsibility to help out with these messes."

Listening to Ziren's words it left Yukio with much to think on the facts were there was an individual walking around leaf with ill intent towards one of his students a situation that could not be allowed to keep occurring. The wish to find strength in order to overcome that problem was understandable however that was not the main concern wandering in the captain's mind the real question was time to train Ziren would not be a quick process and the more time that is given to these invaders the more time they had to prepare and grow stronger themselves.

"I understand your wish it's something most who call themselves Shinobi want to accomplish however another thing to keep in mind is the ability to rely on others. This is not something to face alone lest it backfire rather spectacularly what you have to ask yourself is what is your brother expecting you to do? being a member of the same clan he must have some idea of your plans and the way you think things through." Coming to a stop the Hyuuga turned to face Ziren pausing a brief moment almost analyzing the young AiT.

"You have grown that much is certain but do not think for a second you are close to the end, Even now you have only scratched the surface of what can be achieved with time and effort and time may not be something we have in great supply depending on what is being planned against us." There was concern in his tone though he spoke directly to Ziren it was clear from the look in his eye that the Captain's mind drifted calculating even now a possible solution to the growing crisis.

Yukio's words has echoed in Ziren's mind. Yes, he knew of having to not take all the load on himself. Which he has so many times tried, and succeeded in some cases. And now Yukio is telling him to rely on others. How can he? This is a problem only he can fix. If others get involved. And get hurt. He won't be able to live with himself over it.

"My brother has said he's been watching me for some time. And if that's the case, then he knows that I'm more different from other Chigokai. I don't want to kill or severely hurt if it isn't absolutely required and as a last resort. And if you hadn't noticed. Me and him are kinda both on the same when it comes to impulsive decisions. We both say and do stuff before thinking. But he also knows my biggest weakness is not letting anyone else hurt those that I care about. He did just that, when I just found out I had a new cousin living here.
He went to attack him, and I got in the way."
That only happened a few days ago, and Ziren's healing factor took effect right away. But still... He could feel as if the blood spear was still in his shoulder.

Ziren could understand that he needed time to train to even be on his brothers level of power. But as Yukio also said. They didn't have time. For Jirosho can use that time to grow stronger too. "Wait.
You said that with enough time and effort I could be on his level. And since we are low on time. How about I put in a hundred times the effort? Look, Yukio. I understand that it's your duty to keep me safe since I'm a student of yours. But I feel like it's also my duty to put an end to the threats of the Leaf Village. Because Jirosho has gone too far. It is my duty even though I am not fully in the ANBU branch. I know that I haven't even scratched the surface. And I want to learn. So please. If it's possible. Give me intense training. And I'll put out a million percent effort."

Ziren stood tall and proud. If he wants Yukio to know that he's at least got some chance to stand against his brother. He has to show it to him. No more acting uncertain.

"And believe me Yukio.
I'm not doing this because of what my brother has done to me. But I'm doing this because I want to protect the Leaf, and everyone in it."

He listened to the words spoken by Ziren and there was a short period of silence that followed a sigh escaping the Hyuuga shaking his head at the response it would seem like many others Ziren was content attempting to do things on his own all the lesson taught not having any effect. "This, Ziren, is why we lose shinobi during missions are skirmishes like we just experienced visions of those we care about never getting hurt if we can do things on our own but the world just doesn't work like that. The quicker you all accept that the easier things get."

Keeping a steady pace as Yukio walked he couldn't help but wonder if he had been like this at Ziren's age before training and experience had given him the knowledge to fight both independently and as a unit, difficult to say. Those days of old had long since gone and the only like the Captain knew now was the life of a fully fledged ANBU tilting his head back down to the AiT. "It's all good and well saying that, However, Saying and doing are two different things do not be mistaken had you not been here and I come across a similar scene as now I won't hesitate to capture and interrogate your brother. The duty of stopping threats to the village is not something handed out depending on the person and the rest of us sit back and watch." Another pause, Another moment to catch his breath.

"Safe to say after today I will be informing my fellow captains about the situation and to keep an eye out should things escalate, to gather information and clean up whatever mess we can. In the meantime find yourself a teacher for full-time training if your that adamant about getting stronger quickly my time is not infinite and I have the other AiT's and academy students to keep an eye on at this time." There was hope those words would sink in the fact of the matter was most of the students and trainees had traits like this, the trait of taking all the blame on their own shoulders however Yukio had learned the world did not always look so kindly on such noble intentions.

Ziren walked with Yukio, he was finally starting to understand what Yukio meant. But he could still feel like he was responsible for this. That he needed to be the one to face his brother.

But right now, it would be no use arguing with the ANBU Captain. He will be informing the other captains of Ziren's situation, and they will have hawk eyes set on him. He didn't want to be someone that they had to babysit. He was way too old for that. Which set his mind at ease, somewhat when Yukio told him that he could get a full time teacher since Ziren is set in wanting to stop his evil brother.

He bowed his head, "Thank you Yukio. You've opened up my eyes. And I know it may not be much, especially since I'm just an AIT, if you feel like there is too much little stuff that you are doing, you can always throw some of that my way. I will need to learn how to be a great ANBU, and for that,
I will also need to learn how to handle things like you do."

Ziren was truthful of what he meant. He wanted to help. He wanted to show his dedication to the ANBU and to the Leaf. He followed Yukio as they walked around the Forest.

It seemed the point was getting through to some degree something Yukio couldn't complain about at the end of the day the AiT phase of the branch was about learning taking the small steps to better yourself before becoming a full ANBU. As Yukio paced there was a short pause to look up to the sky wondering where Ziren would go from here, a good question, there were many paths the young man could take in his journey through the ANBU branch and before moving on he would be tested to see where his skills were most suited.

"Well if seems your mind is in the right place, as for me do not be concerned as long as you all stay out of trouble i can get through what is asked of me. That much is expected with someone of my rank and something you will have to face on your way through the branch, if you think things are difficult now then prepare yourself because should you make it to full ANBU then your in for an interesting experience."

With those words he continued to wander turning to Ziren with a smile. "Unfortunately i must go now duty calls me once more and my time is limited on a day to day basis as of late. Should i need to speak with you further on this matter you will receive word in advance i expect you to respond with haste." Upon finishing his statement he walked away leaving to return to his work just as he always had.

Ziren was left there in the Forest, thinking about what Yukio had said to him. It's weird. He has felt so changed from when he first came to the Leaf. He didn't know how to describe it. But. He wanted to change. He wanted to be the best ANBU there ever was. To protect all of those he cares about. He won't let his brother do any more harm.

Even though Yukio was well out of ear range, Ziren spoke, "Don't worry Yukio. I will become the best ANBU operative and be able to protect you all. I won't give up, no matter what is thrown at me."

Ziren then walked his own path. Own route out of the Forest of Death.
