Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The longer he stayed in Kumogakure, the more he was adapting to the life. With the academy at the back of his mind for now, nursing a bruise on his hand, he was off to the bookstore down the road. He had been the frequent visitor there, looking at books and the occasional reading in a silent corner. However, today he was there not to purchase nor to read. He was there to help with the staff. An ad poster earlier that week that he found said that they were looking for someone to come around the weekend and help with carrying boxes and other things from the back and into the storehouse. Apparently, a new shipment of books had arrived and some of the old stocks needed to be stored away for now.

“Oh, there you are! Come on in,” greeted the shop clerk as he saw Nanashi enter through the sliding door. “Woaw there… you okay?” He would ask as Nanashi not only had a bandaged hand, but he also sported a few bandages along his cheek.

“Nothing to worry about. It’s just a scratch,” said Nanashi as he flexed his arm to make a point. Indeed, his tolerance for pain was quite high, but ever since he began his shinobi training, it’d grew a notch further. He figured he was getting stronger by the day and that was good to know. Wouldn’t want to be the only one in class to be left feeling inferior. “Anyway, what do I need to do?”

“Oh right, well if you’re alright then let’s get started. Follow me.”

Moving to the back of the store, and even if Nanashi had half a mind tempted to stay when he saw the new arrival of books and records that pertained to lore and fiction, he had to keep up with the shop clerk towards the back of the shop. Past the small dark corridor, they exited into a patio that was beaming with sunlight. Today was thankfully bright and cheery that he was thankful since the structure outside the backyard, about ten meters away, looking all dull and cold with its stonework walls and roof, seemed like the traditional storehouses of old.

“The door to the storehouse is open, the key’s inside, and the space you’ll transfer them to is at the second floor,” continued the clerk before he pointed to about thirty boxes stacked around the patio, “And here are the boxes. Come by again when you’re done.”

And with that, he began his task. He carried one box, quite the average weight. Books sure were heavy. Then he went to the said storehouse, opened the door and found his way towards the rickety old stairs. It was a steep climb and having to go up and down began to seem like a troublesome task. No wonder they asked for help. In any case, as soon as he reached the second floor’s landing, he saw the space that the clerk mentioned and placed down the first box. Fortunately, a portion of the roof was glass with wooden frames, allowing for light to enter, but that may also pose a problem.

“Better get this done before dark. Good thing it isn’t overcast today,” said Nanashi as he stretched his arms and then hurried to get back down. He would go back and carry the boxes, one at a time, with much care and respect for the books that were encased inside, and place them neatly inside the storehouse. He did so repeatedly and after a couple of hours, he was done with the job.

Just as he was locking the door to the storehouse and off to meet the clerk with the large key, he was met by the latter who brought out a tray with snacks and drinks. “Thought you’d need some refreshers and woaw– you’re done!”

“Yeah, thought I’d hurry while the sun is up,” answered Nanashi as he approached the man and gave him the keys. “Here you go. And that’s about done.”

“Well, thanks for this. Maybe you should come by next time as well. Ha ha ha! Anyway, help yourself with this, okay? I’ll get back to the store now.”

“Thanks.”

And so, even if he was feeling a bit sore from carrying all those boxes up and down, also worrying about that steep rickety ladder of the storehouse, he was quite content. Thus, he made his way back to his apartment, just in time to cook some stewed beef and potatoes for dinner.
