Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

A faint aroma of foods were slowly wafting towards the gates. It was nearing supper time and many families were busy cooking, sending wondrous streams of pleasantries throughout the village. It paired quite nicely with the current setting that had befallen the gates. Syrupy rays of orange and yellow danced across the shimmering ocean of sand that laid before the Toraono Dojo. The sun was inching ever closer to the horizon, remnants of it's life giving light still shining down to give what light it could spare. Shadows were beginning to grow and stretch across the ground signaling that the day was ending. Wispy golden clouds stretched across the sky like massive wings, one might even think this was a promise of a calm and peaceful night. For most of the inhabitants of Wind Country, this was true. For others, like Kaen, it was a far cry short from the truth, this night would be much more eventful than he would expect. Not that such notions were bothersome or taxing for the red-headed amalgamation, he often longed for such events. But such things were not on his mind at this moment.

One of the rookies had apparently fallen ill, there was a small breakout of flu-like cases popping up around the village, mostly the Grand Palais. One might wonder about the dealings that this sickly rookie was getting into. But who was Kaen to judge, he himself frequented that area, but surely for different reasons. Kaen ran his fingers backwards through his hair, his red locks falling softly upon his neck. With a stretch and a yawn, he stood back up and donned his Anbu mask. They weren't expecting any visitors, coming or going, but you can never be to safe, you never know who is going to stroll on by...

Kohana was making her way around the village on this beautiful day, but she wasn't quite sure where she was. Having dwelled in Shin's shadows for most of her existence she hadn't learned her way around the village. Her long golden blonde hair was flowing through the wind as her face kept it's stone cold expression. Her blue jacket seemed out of place as it wasn't something many would wear within the desert, but alas she was here. Her cold blue eyes were locked straight ahead as they seemed to emit a ghostly aura.

Passing houses that had fragrant smells of home cooked meals the young woman's stomach slightly rumbled. She was looking for the area within the Sunan Residences that homed the restaurants that have become rather popular with the local inhabitants. Unfortunately she believed that she made a wrong turn some where down the road and is now leaving the centralized areas of the residences.

It wasn't long before she realized that she was at the village gates. Letting out a sigh Kohana would pinch the bridge of her nose before letting out a loud shout towards the gate keeper. "Whoever the hell is supposed to be on guard duty better show up now."<i></i> The woman would cross her arms as she would start to tap her foot. She was extremely impatient and expected the man to appear just before her eyes.

Suddenly the peaceful, uneventful evening's silence was abruptly interrupted as a strong, possibly independent, womanly voice broke through the mould. "Whoever the hell is supposed to be on guard duty better show up now."<i></i> Kaen quickly glanced over the railing from atop the gates, a place he often liked to hang out. No sense in hiding in plain sight, never know when some idiot is going to try and make a run for it or worse, someone trying to sneak in. Peering through the slits in his mask he quickly got a grasp on who exactly was calling out for the 'guard'. He didn't know her, but he sure as hell wanted to. The long, brilliant blonde hair flowed effortlessly down her head, elegantly draped over her body as if she was made for it. It was hard to tell, the thick coat wasn't doing her any justice. But her figure was quite remarkable, strong and firm. Long story short, she was hot, perhaps hotter than Kaen, figuratively of course.

Quickly realizing that HE was the guard in question, he scrambled to remove his Anbu attire. She couldn't get a firm grasp of what he was working with with all that extra shit on. Storing it safely away, he ran his fingers through his hair and checked his breath. "Haaa haaa, hmm... not bad." He was quietly muttering to himself in preparation for the lone woman below. With a quick once over, Kaen dusted himself free of any debris and hopped over the top of the gate, softly dropping to the ground below.

A small plume of dust and a very subtle thud was all that was emitted upon his landing. Slowly rising to an upright position, Kaen spoke out to the woman that had aggressively called out for him. This too excited him, he admired others who were equally fiery as he was. "Hey now, let's keep the volume low. Dusk is quickly approaching and the Sand Wolves are easily attracted by loud noises." Kaen paused for half a second, for dramatic effect of course. "You don't want to get bitten, do you?" Kaen gave a subtle eyebrow raise, the implicit innuendo wasn't exactly inconspicuous. But when has Kaen ever beat around the bush? No, Flame Court Ancients were anything but subtle with these things. Battle isn't the only thing they are excited and passionate about...

Just as she declared that someone should arrive Kohana would sense the gate keeper approach. Letting out a sigh and closing her eyes should could feel the effects that were happening across the village. Shin was over at some bar flirting with some stranger drinking some harder liquor. It wasn't until the man with red hair landed before him. Her eyes slimmed down as she glared at the man. "Don't tell me what to do, peasant."</COLOR><i></i> Her eyes were as sharp as daggers. "Shin. You may want to quit your drinking. This man is pissing me off and if you keep it up I may not be able to stop myself."<i></i> Fortunately for the shinobi before her, Kohana's mind was merged with her brother's and for the most part they were both present in each other's bodies at all times. "Kohana, please don't. It's not a good time."<i></i> Shin would send the message while sitting in the sports bar between the man he was crushing on and his soon to be wife.

Gritting her teeth it was rather clear that she wasn't like how Kaen was speaking to her. The comment about getting bitten wasn't unnoticed. Reaching down to grasp the hilt of her blade. She would talk to the man one more time. <COLOR color="red">"Sand wolves are not a threat, I'm not some weakling like you." Her eyes slowly moved down the man as she scoffed at his physical appearance. Was he supposed to be something special? Because he wasn't.

Kaen's face suddenly sunk in response to this woman's hurtful label. Kaen blinked expressionless as he thought to himself; 'Did she just call me... a peasant?' The woman's gaze narrowed, sending figurative heat rays towards his direction. Every second that ticked on by was another second this woman's fury grew. Kaen was still taken aback a bit by her earlier comment, but the feisty attitude was not unwanted, he admired it.

Kaen's eyes flickered to her side and back as she reached for her weapon, just who the hell was this woman? So quick to anger, so ready to fight, was Kaen falling in love?! Ok, maybe not, but he certainly wanted to know her more. There weren't very many people that resonated with Kaen's own fiery nature, but this woman was quickly sizing up to be on par with his short fuse - like attitude. Her teeth almost seemed to be grinding themselves raw, her grip tightened upon the hilt of her weapon. "Sand wolves are not a threat, I'm not some weakling like you."

"That's true, I suppose. But you never kn--." Kaen stopped mid sentence as the sudden realization of what she just said sunk in. Some weakling!? He watched her gaze size him up and come up unsatisfied. Kaen sniffed and then cleared his throat. He could feel it coming already, that instinct creeping up from the depths of his being, his Ancient dna roaring to life. The air around his body became noticeably dryer, as if some unknown heat source was sapping every ounce of moisture from the air. He had been practicing for a long time now, but sometimes it can't be helped if his aura leaked out a little. "I'm sorry, I'm sure that I misheard you... Ma'am. Could you repeat that for me?" Kaen cocked his head ever so slightly and leaned in closer, so he could hear her better of course...

As the man stopped mid sentence Kohana could feel the temperature rising around the area the two were at. Clearly this man was of the fire elemental typing, which was her true weakness, but she wasn't about to back down now. As the man approached her she would speak out to him. "You must be deaf as well. What a joke, and you are supposed to protect the village? Such a waste of a man."<i></i> Grabbing the man's clothing she would lean into his ear seductively to whisper into his ear. "Threaten me again and I will kill you..."<i></i> Sliding her tongue up the outer edge of his ear she could feel the heat coming from within. Pushing him back to make some distance between the two she would shift her body to a ready position.

Twisting her foot causing a flurry of small plants appear from the sands she would cast the Chikamatsu Clan's Secret Technique: Floral Fields. With her at the center many varying grasses would appear covering the ground as well as small flowers with bright pink bundled petals. Every few yards short shrubs would appear to sprout up a few feet tall that had woody bases. This was the marker that a Chikamatsu was ready for combat.

It wasn't a moment longer before a blur in the distance would become visible. Shin would begin to approach the two hot headed individuals. "Kohana, stop!"<i></i> His voice echoed out, but it wasn't long before he appeared right beside his sister with his arm out as if trying to hold her back. "My name is Chikamatsu Shin, and this is my sister Kohana. As the Overseer of the Chikamatsu Clan it is my duty to protect her."<i></i> Not recognizing the man before him Shin would continue. "As a member of the Omni Prime Medical Complex I demand you release your name and rank."<i></i> His eyes narrowed, but it was clear Shin was ready to protect his sister if needed be as the flower petals all around would begin to grow slightly in size and their tightly compact rose like blooms would begin to open.

Just shortly after Shin confronted Kaen and demanded him to relinquish his identity, Hiroshi stumbled behind the Chikamatsu siblings. Although chasing after the blue-eyed overseer had sobered him up somewhat, he could still feel the intoxicating effects of the potent brew coursing through his body.

"You're too drunk to fight, Hiroshi-kun," Unmei reaffirmed his fear that if things were to escalate any further, he would be in no condition to help. "Please, for once, let me help."

Audibly sighing at the entity's plea and pinching the brow of his nose, the hulking man struggled to retain autonomy of his own body. "I'm too drunk for this shit," he absently commented as he folded his arms against his chest and glaring at Kaen. "If you have a problem with Shin or his sister here, then you have a problem with me as well."

Oof, this woman kept it coming hard. He expected the semi-violent reaction as she firmly grasped the loose bits of his clothing and pulled him in closer. "Threaten me again and I will kill you..." The slow and low seductive tone made Kaen's heart skip a beat. She surprised him further as she licked the lobe of his ear, sending a chilling feeling down his back. Never had Kaen been so intrigued, perturbed and excited all at once. She pushed herself off of him, making some distance, before entering into an offensive stance. Just as Kaen had let slip his innate abilities, she too exposed herself and let loose a beautiful array of flora with her at the epicenter. Such a shame that such wonders will be burnt away by Kaen's destructive force. "HA HA HA HA! Threaten?! Oh no deary, you have me all wrong. It was a promise..."

Suddenly the hair on the back of his neck perked up as he felt others quickly approaching him. Two more sources of power, he hadn't felt these particular signatures before. Just who was this woman, and who were her friends? Well I suppose we're about to find out. A male voice cried out, apparently this woman's name was Kohana, interesting. And then he arrived, he was close to the same size as Kaen, but his physical stature was lacking. Though there was something else about him that Kaen had not felt before, there was more that met the eye here. "My name is Chikamatsu Shin, and this is my sister Kohana. As the Overseer of the Chikamatsu Clan it is my duty to protect her. As a member of the Omni Prime Medical Complex I demand you release your name and rank."</COLOR><i></i> Just as he finished his demands, the third entity entered the fray. A large man, easily towering over Kaen himself. His voice was deep and strong. "If you have a problem with Shin or his sister here, then you have a problem with me as well." Kaen chuckled, today was turning out to be more exciting than he could have ever hoped for. "It seems you three are the ones who will be having the 'problem', at least once i'm through with you..."

And there it was, that sense of familiarity. It was as clear as day for Kaen, as he too had such a connection to another. These two were siblings, just as Kaen and Kasen were. The overwhelming feeling of kinship was almost tangible in the air. Kaen smiled lightly before he spoke, a sense of understanding in his eyes. "I admire your determination, Shin. A brother should always be there for his loved ones. The real question still remains..." Suddenly Kaen's eyes narrowed, his brows slightly furrowed. Determination and seriousness in his eyes. "Do you have what it takes? Do you alone have the power to protect her when the moment comes!? Are you strong enough?! Kaen knew all too well what happens when you think you're ready, when you think you have the strength to protect the ones you care and love for. What happens when you're wrong...

It seemed the odds were against Kaen this evening, three unknown shinobi versus Kaen. They had no idea what they were getting themselves into or who he even was. How careless. Though I suppose the same could be said of Kaen, he too was about to enter into a fight where he too knew nothing of his opponents. "I appreciate the introduction, Chikamatu Shin of the Chikamatus Clan. Allow me to introduce myself..." Kaen lept backwards to distance himself from the three foes before him. "I am Shinku Kaen, I hail from no 'clan'. But my linage is strong, old and long, I would love to reveal that portion of my identity, but I fear you would leave before the fun began. I won't let an opportunity slip me by. As for my rank, defeat me and I will tell you. Now then, if you three think you have what it takes to take on a warrior of Mother Suna herself, bring it on." All at once Kaen unleashed his Flame Court inferno of an aura, the immediate area around him went up in flames. The ground at his feet cracking and crumbling from the pressure. A thousand consumed souls cried out with Kaen; <COLOR color="#BF0000">"LET'S GO!!!"

The man before them was clearly readying himself for combat. Instinctively a surge of chakra would surge in his body causing a black sigil to appear on his left hand as he clenched it into a fist. The rupture of flames that came from the man before them caused a intense pressure that fractured the ground slightly before them. A puff of smoke would come as his ally would attempt to use a smoke but it appeared that the wind caused by the burst of fire caused it miss. Taking a step back Shin was shocked by the amount of fire before them. "Shin, don't let the heat get to you!"<i></i> Kohana would say as she grabbed his shoulder.

Nodding his head the young man would look over to the fire creature before him. Placing one foot forward the Overseer would connect his hands before him. As if a dance Shin would drop his arms as he would pivot on his forward foot and bring his arms upwards. As he spun the sands and winds around them would become bountiful with life. Flowers filled the lands as their pink petals would take to the skies. As he did this Kohana would plunge the blade that rested on her hip on the ground and pulled it from the earth, coating its metallic sheen in a purple haze. A quick flash and She would appear behind Kaen and thrust her blade towards his heart, but in the last moment it would appear that she missed. As Shin's theatrics ended his hands would come to rest by his temples. Open palms showed a focus to his mind. Whether it be the heat or from Shin's own genjustu, the world around Kaen would begin to blur slightly.

It appeared that Hiroshi was also a Fire Stylist, which made Shin even more uncomfortable. Obvious sweat would start to bead up on Shin's face as Kohana would jump away from Kaen to once again stand by Shin. Her eyes would close as she would begin to pull in the energy from the surroundings, which caused Shin to stammer slightly. He knew that she was of no help for this moment. And just as Kohana would close her eyes Kaen would summon forth clones. Three enemies stood before him now, but which was the true target was unknown to Shin.

In moments two large wings would rupture from Kohana's back as her natural energy would manifest. Her sage mode had completed itself and She now had the power of the Avian Balance. The ground, at this moment, would begin to shift causing the three to slowly move together but this wouldn't stop Kohana. Darting forward Kohana would shift her blade to strike one of the Kaens but upon contact it became obvious that she was targeting a clone and not the real target.

"Come out you coward. Grow a pair and fight like a man!"<i></i> Her voice was rough and angered, but Shin knew it was because she was excited to see how this would go.

His foes were quick to realize the situation they had found themselves in. Kaen felt the gaze of these targets before him, focusing their energy and efforts solely on him. The three individuals wasted no time in equipping their weapon of choice, but it wouldn't matter in the end. Kaen's lineage was far stronger than they could have anticipated, and that would be their downfall. Suddenly a projectile came whizzing straight for the flaming inferno that was Kaen and his aura. Without a second thought Kaen would roar in opposition, the flames around him whipping into a final frenzy, sending the smoke bomb's trajectory askew.

Her eyes revealed all he needed to know, he recognized them easily. It was as if looking in a mirror, that intense, serious intent. This 'Kohana' meant to injure Kaen, and was holding little back. As if in slow motion, Kaen side-stepped the blonde woman's thrust, his red hair billowing as a smile grew as he easily dodged the attack. "You'll have to do better than that deary, if you want to put your hands on me that is..." His tone was one of playful banter, clearly meant to entice, even though it would most likely only infuriate her further. But this was not a bad thing, or at least that's how Kaen felt.

Kaen's vision begun to blur for a moment, Kohana's brother, Shin, had somehow snuck in a genjutsu. "Ah ah ah, what a naughty little boy." Stoking the fires within, they quickly rose up inside and cleansed the fog in his mind, if only for a short while. Noticing the lull in their efforts, Kaen seized the moment. Whipping through a series of hand seals, a plume of smoke erupted with him at the center. He had summoned a small group of clones in his stead as he faded into the darkness behind him. It would appear that none of his foes had noticed, focusing their attentions on his clones, just as he planned.

He felt a familiar presence of heat and malice, the massive dark haired man surprised him. It would appear there was more than one fire bug in this village, Kaen looked with anticipation as he wondered what tricks this fire starter kept hidden. This man showed many attributes that Kaen himself favored, perhaps there was hope for these three after all. A sudden surge of energy erupted around Kohana, a brilliant pair of wings sprung out from her back. How curious, Kaen had never seen such a feat before. Was this similar to a cursed seal? He needed to know more...

Drawing his own weapon and focusing his mind for a moment, he converted a portion of his life force to stoke the flames back to full strength. While his foes attacked his distraction, Kaen only further planned their demise. "Come out you coward. Grow a pair and fight like a man!" Oooh, had he struck a nerve? But Kaen was no coward and would soon end this little game of hide and seek. He was an Anbu after all, Tenken would be displeased if he hadn't attempted some sort of stealthy approach. "A coward you say? I'm hurt... But fret not, sister of Shin. You'll have plenty of opportunities to gaze upon my brilliance in due time. Be patient, the anticipation will only excite us further..." Still he taunted her, he loved the anger he felt from her. He was thinking perhaps this would be a bore, but perhaps he was wrong.

"Shit!" Hiroshi lamented as Kaen deflected his feeble attempt at misdirection and prestidigitation quite easily. Within a matter of seconds, his own flaming aura surrounded him as he glared at his opponent. Or at least he had been glaring at him before the other fire enthusiast disappeared in a burst of smoke before reappearing along with two clones.

"You need my help, Hiroshi-kun," Unmei pleaded. "Just trust me, ok?"

The man audibly sighed. "I . . . can't . . . control her . . . anymore . . . " Hiroshi confessed as the Dread Wolf within started to manifest herself via his Mark of the Beast. Not willing to leave himself vulnerable during the painful transfiguration, the burly shinobi hastily performed a set of hand seals that any ANBU would be sure to know, concealing himself almost instantaneously before shouting in pain. Within a few seconds, the entity dominated both his mind and his body, turning him into a anthropomorphic wolf of sorts--a spectacle that would be revealed as his body lashed out at one of the clones with a small series of punches.

"Neat trick," the bestial man growled at his unseen opponent and his clones, his already powerful voice resonating with Unmei's dark and primal power. "Let's see just who wins this battle of attrition between predator and prey though."

Whether it was by some vulnerability, or perhaps the sheer intensity of Kaen's fiery aura, Both Shin and Kohana seemed to fall to their knees. Beads of sweat pouring off of their frail countenance. But Kaen cared not for their weakness and would not let up, his assault would finally begin. Raising both of his hands high into the air he would concentrate his newfound abilities on each of his foes before him. Shin, Kohan, and Hiroshi would begin to feel their very life force, their essence, begin to ebb away and flowing into Kaen. Instantly Kaen's powers amplified, his aura becoming even heavier which would wreak havoc upon their chakra systems. ""Mmmm..." Kaen's baleful voice echoed around them. "It's only a taste, I want MORE!"

Kaen would continue to skulk around the make shift battle ground, he watched as his clones were instantly vaporized by the large man's fire jutsu. Though they were in combat with each other, he could still appreciate the fiery beauty before him. Excellent utilization of his capabilities, even if it costed him in the end.

[OOC - though it says hidden actions, I want to RP it as I've exited stealth when I use Rasengan. Too boring to RP stealth attacks, or react rather]

Suddenly from atop the gates, Kaen stood tall and proud, confidence spread wide in a malicious smile across his face. His arms were raised up in the air, a whirring ball of energy spinning in each hand. Without a word he would send one spiraling towards Hiroshi, the buzzing sound whistling in the air. Immediately Kaen would grab the other orb and rip it into two and hurl them both towards the other pair of foes, Shin and Kohana. Kaen was quick, just as one might expect out of a dangerous shinobi Hybrid like himself, and Kaen dashed off of the top of the gate chasing after his screeching orbs of wind. While in the air, his trajectory following that of his Rasen-shuriken, Kaen flung through a series of handseals.

As Kaen made contact with the ground, his fists slammed down, palms open. Both the lightning style jutsu and the rasen-shuriken struck simultaneously, the central sphere of the Rasen-shuriken detonated, producing a vortex of wind which surrounded his targets. The Chidori he sent through the ground found their targets with ease, increasing and amplifying the devastating effects of his previous jutsu. Pulling himself up from a kneeling position, Kaen dashed straight for Hiroshi, the flame user. Grabbing a handful of sand as he dashed forward, a small plume of dust kicked up in his wake as his hand sliced through the grainy sand. Lifting what he grasped up, his chakra solidified it. Making a solid connection to the side of Hiroshi's head, Kaen could feel his neck tense up. Clearly he had damaged it. But Hiroshi was not ready to give up and bombarded Kaen with a familiar fire jutsu. As the storm settled, Kaen stood merely a few yards away from Hiroshi, his clothes burnt and singed in some places. Kaen would glance down in distaste. "Oh, so you think you're hot stuff eh? Let me show you the ways of the flame, prepare yourself!"

As the dust settled it seemed none of the people here were strong enough. Kaen would look at them with disgust, they were not worth his time. He wouldn't even clean up his mess, let some other nobody do it. And with that Kaen jumped back to the top of the gate, grabbed his gear and headed home. He needed a hot shower to wash off this weakling filth off of him.
