A faint aroma of foods were slowly wafting towards the gates. It was nearing supper time and many families were busy cooking, sending wondrous streams of pleasantries throughout the village. It paired quite nicely with the current setting that had befallen the gates. Syrupy rays of orange and yellow danced across the shimmering ocean of sand that laid before the Toraono Dojo. The sun was inching ever closer to the horizon, remnants of it's life giving light still shining down to give what light it could spare. Shadows were beginning to grow and stretch across the ground signaling that the day was ending. Wispy golden clouds stretched across the sky like massive wings, one might even think this was a promise of a calm and peaceful night. For most of the inhabitants of Wind Country, this was true. For others, like Kaen, it was a far cry short from the truth, this night would be much more eventful than he would expect. Not that such notions were bothersome or taxing for the red-headed amalgamation, he often longed for such events. But such things were not on his mind at this moment.
One of the rookies had apparently fallen ill, there was a small breakout of flu-like cases popping up around the village, mostly the Grand Palais. One might wonder about the dealings that this sickly rookie was getting into. But who was Kaen to judge, he himself frequented that area, but surely for different reasons. Kaen ran his fingers backwards through his hair, his red locks falling softly upon his neck. With a stretch and a yawn, he stood back up and donned his Anbu mask. They weren't expecting any visitors, coming or going, but you can never be to safe, you never know who is going to stroll on by...

Kohana was making her way around the village on this beautiful day, but she wasn't quite sure where she was. Having dwelled in Shin's shadows for most of her existence she hadn't learned her way around the village. Her long golden blonde hair was flowing through the wind as her face kept it's stone cold expression. Her blue jacket seemed out of place as it wasn't something many would wear within the desert, but alas she was here. Her cold blue eyes were locked straight ahead as they seemed to emit a ghostly aura.
Quickly realizing that HE was the guard in question, he scrambled to remove his Anbu attire. She couldn't get a firm grasp of what he was working with with all that extra shit on. Storing it safely away, he ran his fingers through his hair and checked his breath.
And there it was, that sense of familiarity. It was as clear as day for Kaen, as he too had such a connection to another. These two were siblings, just as Kaen and Kasen were. The overwhelming feeling of kinship was almost tangible in the air. Kaen smiled lightly before he spoke, a sense of understanding in his eyes.
It seemed the odds were against Kaen this evening, three unknown shinobi versus Kaen. They had no idea what they were getting themselves into or who he even was. How careless. Though I suppose the same could be said of Kaen, he too was about to enter into a fight where he too knew nothing of his opponents.
