Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Tomo entered the hospital, his clothes still dirty from his exam. Between the strain of constant chakra use, and almost suffocating to death under the earth, Tomo would have preferred a hot bath and a warm bed upon returning to Kumo. However, he had made the mistake of telling his eldest sister of the near burial, and she had ordered him straight to the hospital for a check-up. He didn't really think it was necessary. He hadn't gotten into a fight. Well...that he remembered anyway. He rubbed his neck where a faint needle mark was still visible. Right, he forgot about the drugging. Perhaps a quick visit couldn't hurt.

He reached the receptionist and received a clipboard. The form for a post-mission check-up was far easier than the Kinjutsu one, so he was within a simple white room soon enough. He sat upon the bed, looking around at the different instruments. He didn't like hospitals, which was one of the many reasons he never became a medical shinobi. While he hadn't been sickly as a child, the occasional trips to the hospital due to injury, caused more often than not by Tama, had conditioned him to associate pain with the medical building. It was also extremely boring. It was understandable that there wasn't a mednin on call at every waking hour, especially when there were more pressing emergencies to tend to, but it didn't make the waiting any more bearable.

Getting tired of staring at the medical tools, especially the sharp ones, Tomo removed his black and orange gloves and examined his arms. There were a couple of bruises from his Ghostly Form. Passing through walls was possible while in that state, but it still caused damage to his body. There was undoubtedly at least one bruise on each part of his body, probably more. Tomo slipped his gloves into his hip pouch and let himself fall back on the medical bed. Fatigue was catching up with him, and he closed his eyes to rest them while he waited.

Kotsuko never did get used to the rounds he had to do. He much preferred it down in the research lab, but because he wasn't a full medical shinobi yet he had to handle the grunt work of the hospital. Check-ups, general appointments, and all other sorts of boring tasks. Kotsuko hated it so much. He couldn't wait for his soon-to-come exams so that he could graduate to a full time researcher, so that he could stop with all this lame work. Until that day, though, he'd simply have to grin and bear it. It wasn't a very effective strategy, but it helped just enough so that he didn't try to slice open some of his patients.

As Kotsuko walked through the halls of the Aesculapium, going over his sheet for the day, he saw that he only had a couple more patients to go for the day. A rather quick day, it seemed. He wanted just get through the last few patients on his list without anything groundbreaking happening. Just some simple check-ups, a bit of paperwork, and then he'd be free to go back to the lab and get some experiments done. As he neared the room where his next patient was, he stopped just before walking in and took a deep breath. Bracing himself, Kotsuko turned the doorknob and began to walk in. "Hello there, I'll be caring for you today. What see-" Kotsuko froze. Before him was the black and blue haired man, Tomo, whom he had almost crushed to death before. Seeing him here, dirtied up and bruised, was a rather amusing sight to see. The young man had to stifle a laugh as he closed the door behind him. "Funny, I don't remember training you recently. Someone else must like to beat you up just as much as I do." Taking a seat across from Tomo, Kotsuko quickly glanced over the files already submitted by Tomo and the other nurses. It seemed like this was a fairly routine post-mission check-in, but he supposed he ought to simply follow the procedure to get it over with faster. However, a slight exception could be made this time if it would result in some more fun for the young man.

"Alright then, why don't you go over what it is you're worried about from your mission. Any soreness? Acute pain? Overexertion of your chakra systems?" Kotsuko had a pen in one hand, and some paper on a clipboard in the other. He'd be ready to write down any notes the dual-haired chuunin felt the need to mention before they began with the actual physical examination. As all doctors knew, anecdotal feelings of how their patients were doing were just as important as their physical symptoms.

Tomo's eyes fluttered open as a familiar voice entered the room. His body shot up, and his eyes widened in fear. It was him, Kotsuko. What in Raiden's name was he doing as a doctor?! Based on the lad's training method, Tomo had no faith in Kotsuko's bedside manner. This belief was solidified when the white-haired trainee cracked a training joke. Tomo's eye twitched lightly. Those who thought that laughter was the best medicine needed to get a limb chopped off and forced to sit in on one of Osuteno's comedy routines. Then they'd see just how 'effective' they're little theory was.

Luckily Kotsuko's attempt at humor was fleeting, and he actually inquired as to Tomo's state. The young man closed his eyes to ponder this. "Hmm...well, I guess the right side of my neck itches a bit where that needle was inserted. I've got a few bruises from passing through solid wall while mostly ethereal. And I've got lower back pain." He wasn't sure what that last symptom was caused by. He did have to transform into a busty woman for a couple of hours, and he recalled Sonoko complaining about back pain due to her bosom. However, Tomo didn't want to share that information in case he was wrong. Even if transforming into another gender wasn't uncommon, it was still embarrassing. Especially when it strains something. He opened his eyes to see if Kotsuko had any questions or directions.

Seems this would be a pretty standard routine. Ko jotted down his patient's comments on his clipboard, making sure to note some of the odder problems. A puncture wound from a needle would definitely need to be looked at, as who knows what could have been on something like that. Ko would need to make sure Tomo wasn't going to be getting a bacterial infection, or potentially worse. Ko set the clipboard aside as he began to make a few preparations. "Alright, doesn't sound like you had it too bad. The fact that you said you had been punctured by a needle worries me a little. I'm just going to do a quick check-up on your systems to make sure there's nothing to worry about." Ko detached two small gourds he kept tied to his waist, and placed them down on the counter next to him. He then brought out a small container with a clear solution inside of it and a cotton swab. Ko spoke again as he undid the cap. "Could I have you lay down and roll up the sleeve on your left arm, please? I'm going to apply a numbing agent on your upper arm." He was sure the man would have questions before jumping into the check-up. Ko waited a moment for him to get in any questions before continuing. He would keep talking the man through this process as he did it. "Once your arm is numb, I'm going to be using a special sterilized batch of incredibly fine metal powder to examine your internals and your general condition. Once it's inside your body, I need you to hold still so I can control it properly. You won't feel a thing, I promise." Assuming there were no objections, Ko would apply the numbing agent. Giving it a few moments to kick in, the young boy moved back to the small gourds he'd brought out and unsealed them. With a control more fine and precise than any surgical tool, Kotsuko used his chakra to lift the iron sand out of the containers and form into a small floating ball of sand. Bringing it over to Tomo, the young man gave him a reassuring smile. "Don't worry about a thing. I am a doctor, after all."

With that, the young man would make a small incision on the area where he'd numbed Tomo's arm before. Splitting sand off of the small ball in tiny wispy tendrils, the young man would begin to circulate all of the particles throughout Tomo's body. Everything was in position, and Kotsuko prepared for the medical technique he'd developed just for this kind of work. Making use of his fine control of magnetism, Kotsuko would excite the electrons inside of the iron sand causing them to emit a form of radiation. Having developed a technique to see these emissions, Kotsuko was able to see into the very makeup of Tomo's body at a microscopic level. Searching through the various conditions the man had mentioned, Ko didn't seem to find much besides the bruising he mentioned and a slightly misaligned back. "So far it seems like you're good. I don't see anything particularly worrying aside from the bruising you mentioned and some oddities about your back. I'm going to go ahead and heal those two thing for you..." Applying a localized variation of Mystical Force, Ko would fix up those damaged capillaries instantly. As for the spinal deformations, the young man would have no trouble mending those back into place. As he worked, he made sure to keep an eye out on the area where the needle had punctured the skin. He was looking for infection, and any sort of irregularities in the man's blood. Hopefully nothing would pop out as positive...

Tomo gave a nod at the mention of a general check on his systems. That's what he was there for after all. Since he had already spent a great deal of time waiting for a doctor, they might as well cover all the bases. At Kotsuko's instruction, Tomo rolled up his sleeve without question. While he didn't understand the entire process, the Mochizuki did know that the medical branch didn't let any shinobi in willy nilly. He distinctly remembered that there was at least one test, in not more, that had to be passed. So even if Tomo was leery of Kotsuko's personality, he was at least confident that the boy could perform his duties properly.

Tomo's gaze followed Kotsuko, and his eyes widened at the sight of the sand ball. Flashbacks to the sand coffin that nearly crushed him caused the man's body to tense up. His breathing became heavy and his heart raced as the incision was made in his arm and the sand began to enter his system. Kotsuko's voice was muffled as the roaring of blood circulated in his ears. It was taking all of Tomo's willpower not to pass out. After some quick healing, and no indication that there was anything foreign in Tomo's system aside from the iron sand, Kotsuko would pull out. Tomo's glazed eyes never left the sand as it floated from his small wound.

Once the sand was again out of Tomo's vision, his heartbeat returned to normal and his face visibly calmed. His eyes fell to the ground, too embarrassed to meet Kotsuko's gaze as the lad fixed the cut he had made. Once he was given the okay, the Mochizuki rose from the medical bed, keeping his eyes averted. "Thank you. I will be on my way." Tomo hurried out the door and exited the hospital. His pace never faltered as he pushed to leave the Aesculapium far behind him. A part of him knew he couldn't run from sand forever, but he was going to try regardless.

The procedure was routine, as usual. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, nor did the man have any sort of major injuries. Ko would merely heal his wounds, and finish up with the procedure. The young boy noticed, while he was healing the Mochizuki, that Tomo seemed a tad uncomfortable because of the young man's unorthodox methods. It made the young boy smirk a tad bit, seeing a grown man so afraid. Chuckling to himself, the young boy would finish with the procedure—extracting all of the iron sand from his patient's system, Ko would store it back within the gourds with which they originally came from. "Well then, it seems you've got nothing major wrong. I'll just patch up this incision, and you can be on your way." True to his word, the young boy would hold his hand just over the small cut in the older man's arm. However, as soon as he had done so, the Mochizuki leapt up and promptly made his exit. As he walked out of the room, without so much as a passing remark to the young man, Kotsuko could only chuckled about the situation. "How can a man like that be a shinobi? Scared of a little sand? Please."

Kotsuko's feelings aside, the man had done good for Kotsuko. He was one more patient that the young doctor could cross off of his list, which meant he was one step closer to a promotion. Higher status meant more access to the higher ranking techniques, and more ability to do research more extensive subjects. He merely picked up his clipboard, crossed off Tomo's name, and stood up from his seat. Leaving the room, and closing the door behind him, Kotsuko strolled off down the hall towards his next patient. Why couldn't this day just end already?
