Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Akuma Kuro knew he had to hurry they were almost out of supply scrolls for food and water for the response teams and the survivors of The Cabal's terrorist attack. Their supplies were at 50% then he remembered the academy had hidden supplies as well as long as the headmaster from his day had maintained the jutsu if he remembered right. Luckily seals did not require a constant amount of chakra, they only required chakra to open and close. Kuro hurried to the old headmaster's office and looked at a rather large and obvious mirror. As he looked at himself memories arose unbidden and swept him back to his days as a graduating genin that still had to serve the academy for all the broken training puppets he had destroyed during his personal training. His elder sister had been an instructor at the Academy then and the Headmaster had been Sousuke's own father.

Natsumi took Kuro to another special chamber enclosed with hell runes and basic diagrams for demon arts. A small grin of pride made her face glow. She was happy to have such a good student in her youngest brother he listened to her lessons aptly, she considered him a reasonable genius or adept as he learned faster than most. Kuro walked in and sat as directed as Natsumi pulled books from a special cavity in the wall. The books contained a power all their own and one imparticular drew Kuro to it like a shark to blood.

“Okay Kuro we’re going to start with basic words of power…” she stated, already plotting exactly how she would teach him. “Hai…” Kuro replied dutifully. “After you’ve learned eighteen basic words of power we’re going to go over basic theory, then we shall practice.” Natsumi intoned happily. She then sat the book before Kuro and placed a timer on the shelf, “You may begin…” she said, Kuro quietly opened the book and let the jutsu of the book take him where it may.

Kuro found the words mentally translated from his native tongue into Infernalatin and he gained a new understanding of runes, instead of just kanji he now found himself understanding ancient demon syllabus. As he worked on his understanding he wrote out ways to invoke the calls to power via Runic Terran.

Eighteen words of spell work flowed into his mind and with them three hundred and twenty four spell combinations.

“Neesan, these words are all so very strong in my mind.” said Kuro, his eyes glazing over in fatigue. She stood over him casually noting the fatigue but that he had not fainted she knew that pushing him beyond the normal curriculum was a good thing most basic students could only learn six words of power at a time. She looked back and saw that Kuro was no longer fatigued but anxious and aglow with questions. He was so childlike yet so powerful and still just a child, she was highly impressed.

She smiled as she continued his advanced training “So Kuro, now that you have allowed those words to become runed inside your mind you can invoke the arts of demon, our hell arts were learned while battling the gods of limbo and since we exist we can attest to who won that war as their knowledge and jutsus are now part of our own. You must be careful with your use of demon arts, when you invoke the jutsu you can think the jutsu through without speaking the phrases into the open but this would decrease its effectiveness by half. If you slowly build up the jutsu and intone vocally each word of power to your desired affect you can achieve ten times the effect of the jutsu. If you simply say the words without mentally specifying the desired affect or the target of such jutsus you run the risk of destroying yourself. Do you understand what I am telling you?”

Kuro nodded “I can use them without speaking and mentally use the jutsu and have only half power. If I use mental and vocal forces the jutsu stands a chance of being ten times stronger depending on how long I take to intone the jutsu and how I specify my desired effect. If I rush the jutsu and don’t mentally focus bad things will happen to me.”

Natsumi nodded “Yes, you do understand… good, the majority of our demon arts, wound, maledict or simply blow up portions of or the entirety of our opponents. Many demon blooded neglect Demon arts because they take to long to wield for the slow witted. The faster your mind is, the faster the spell release and effect, once you have enough practice your release and effect will be almost instantaneous. We will begin with two syllable arts and gradually work up to six syllable arts anything beyond four syllables that I don’t teach you will be unique to you, although another Akuma may use the same combination of component words as you they will never have the exact same affect or power emphasis as you. Do you understand?”

Kuro nodded as he sat down after the lesson and began to translate his lessons into runic terran.
Natsumi stood over Kuro on a balcony as he pulsed wind and water elemental energies into a series of mirrors.
Natsumi, “You may begin… and use the combinations of words I telepathically send to you” she said, Kuro closed his eyes and focused on the symbols she sent directly into his mind as he worked on mastery of demon arts. A mantra went on more like a litany that intoned the basics of the jutsu he was learning.

The basics of Demon jutsu comes from within my soul.
It manipulates and reflects the balances of power within me.
It crests the line between life and death, reality and fabrication, affect and effect, time and space.
Manipulation of forces through demon arts can affect yourself and or your surroundings.
Demon arts are naturally dangerous, changing the balance can have catastrophic effects.
Basic users are able to achieve combustion, generalized destruction, clones.
Gifted Demon users can change any aspect of reality fully to their will.

Kuro connected his first two words:

Semper Contego (always shield) a ring of violet mirrors surrounded Natsumi granting her reflective shields it lasted for twenty seconds.

Natsumi smiled “Good now try it on yourself.”

Semper Contego (always Shield myself) a ring of violet mirrors appeared all around Kuro granting him multiple copies of himself and reflective shields that lasted for twenty seconds.

Natsumi smiled once more “Let’s try an attack jutsu,” She focused her mind and sent the spell into his mind with a soft thrum.

Kuro felt the words, then intoned the spell provided with the specified target a stone model fifty yards away “Imperos contego oppressi!!” Kuro felt his inner power surge forth and take form as a massive circle of glass like material formed a discus then shot forth from above his head tearing and severing the ground in its wake as it struck the stone model slicing into it and shattering as it knocked it backwards another twenty feet and while peppering it with glass shards.

“Excellent… Please continue.” Natsumi set a simple sheet of five dozen spells; each dozen was in a specific category healing, elemental, malediction, dimensional, and weather.

Kuro set himself down in a meditative stance and began using his internal energy to practice Demon arts. It was far different from his hybrid Hakuda where he combined his internal dark chakra and spiritenergy along with his martial arts studies to make precision destructive attacks. This was more relaxing, less focus, and far more destruction on a four dimensional scale. Kuro found that he could channel multiple spells at once if he focused on them subquantumly this would allow him to synchronize their effects to strike a target with multiple arts all at the same time.

Kuro found the ability to manipulate energy partially to his will a bit more challenging, learning control over some of the more metaphorical and metaphysical aspects of dimensions, time and energy mechanics was almost too much for him to handle but being a minor genius and with Natsumi’s vast library access Kuro learned secondary levels of these concepts in just two weeks. Kuro became Natsumi’s favorite student of all time as she took him all around their private properties within the Takahashi Steel factory grounds. They made tours of exotic locales to show him what demon arts used properly did to make sure sinners atoned. Kuro wasn’t very enthusiastic about it but upon his return to the classroom he did see Taizen waving at him from a desk at the back and as he entered the gates to purgatory training hall Kuro waved back. Natsumi noticed them both briefly before getting back to her own studies. She reported the incident to the Headmaster Judori, and left note that the visitor she had spotted was none other than Toraono Taizen the exalted monk of the Toraono clan and Kuro’s elder brother and her younger brother. The Headmaster nodded as he dismissed her and thought up a suitable reception for such an esteemed and divinely influenced guest.

As the memory passed Kuro mouthed a phrase but did not speak it and the mirror did not reflect his actions in response as it swung inside to become a door. Against the far back wall of the hidden chamber was a set of old summoning scrolls with access to old water reserves, preserved grain, bread making materials, and oddly enough scrolls for four sets of partially complete Takahashi forged armor. Kuro wondered what they were for but he grabbed them anyway. "Time to get back to feeding the forces."
