Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Fresh out of several weeks of classes to improve his intel gathering skills, Sashin found himself summoned by an Anbu captain. Dressing in full Anbu gear, with his dark green robe and Oni Style Anbu mask, Sashin quietly awaited for his superiors orders. Noticing a fellow Anbu, much smaller in stature, arrive, Sashin nodded in acknowledgement as the man approached him with a folded piece of paper in hand. Silence fell between them, as Sashin grabbed the paper, unfolded it, and began to read. "An Assignment." He thought, as he read about how several merchant caravans seemed to come up with missing inventory. There were no reports of attacks, sieges, or anything one would normally expect to see. However, one thing that ever caravan had in common was that their shipping schedules all seemed delayed by various amounts of times. "Berserk, your objective is to investigate." Said the senior Anbu, as Sashin's eye's shifted from the paper towards him. Nodding, Sashin glanced back towards the paper as he continued to read.

A former Chuunin of the village, now retired, was an owner of a tea house on the outside of the village. His name was 'Tessai' and rumor was, he had been heard saying he knew why the caravans never arrived on schedule. Soaking this information in, lighting infused Chakra crackled in his hand setting the note ablaze. "Understood." He said, dropping the paper to the ground. Watching it burn to ashes, he kneeled as a sign of respect to his superior and then quickly disappeared. Realizing this would be his first solo mission as an Anbu, he was eager to show what he was capable of. Heading to the gates, with what appeared to be an Anbu Escort, he was let out of the village before heading towards a southern city within the fire country.

For several hours, he traveled across various terrains as he followed a commonly found map of the country. Not only was this his first solo mission, but it was the first time he had gotten to explore outside of The Hidden Leaf village. The training he received as an Anbu was more than enough to survive, and navigate via a map, but still it was much more enjoyable than he had imagined. As the sun began to set, he found himself on the outskirts of a small town in which the teahouse resided. Before approaching it, he stepped back and changed into his more casual attire; Sashin might have been an Anbu, but he didn't want civilians to see him and potentially cause a commotion. After all, he was already a giant of a man; that alone might cause a stir.

Now dressed in his usual attire, with his long magenta hair, partially braided, he entered the town and began walking the streets of it in search of the tea house. After several minutes of walking around, and after dozens of strange glances, he found the tea house and approached the door. As he opened up the door, he bent down to enter into it. There, he was several patrons glanced towards him in shock at his size. Without saying a word, his eyes caught theirs, as he went towards the closest empty table that wasn't a booth. Pulling out a chair, he sat down and waited for a few minutes before a waitress arrived with a small menu of teas. Glancing it over, he decided to actually order something. Pointing at the menu, he spoke to the waitress. "A jasmine tea with a blend of ginger, please." He asked softly as he handed the menu back to the waitress.

A few minutes later, she would return with a large cup of freshly brewed tea. "Is it normally this large?" He asked, as the waitress blushed. "No sir, but our proprietor suggested a larger portion for a man of your size." Grabbing the cup, by the handle, Sashin smiled. "I'd like to meet this guy and thank him for his generosity." He told her, as he blew over the top of the cup. The waitress nodded, before walking off. As he continued to blow the top of the tea, Sashin eventually began to sip the tea. The entire time, his ears tuned into the other patrons within the tea house. Some of them spoke rather loud, while other seemed to whisper amongst themselves. While these whispers were harder to hear, he heard some people talking about local stores lacking supplies.

"No doubt a small town like this is being affected." He thought, as he continued to tune into those around him. Several more minutes would pass, and as of this moment he would be exactly half way through his tea before someone would approach his table. "Hope you're enjoying your tea." The man would say, as Sashin lowered his cup. "Ahhh, yeah. Most definitely. I'd had a long day, and it's very soothing." He stated, trying to make small talk. "That's good to hear. My employee told me you'd like to meet me?" The guy stated, as Sashin's brow raised. "Oh, yes. You must be the proprietor. Thank you for your generosity. Most places wouldn't think to serve me a large size unless I asked." He stated, with a slight smile.

The man nodded, before sitting down and whispering. "No worries, it's not everyday we see someone of your stature. What brings you to town?" He asked Sashin, as a hint curiosity crossed his mind. "He seems curious... Well, this guy use to be a Chuunin. No doubt he's suspicious of a stranger." Sashin thought, before replying. "I'm honestly just looking for work while I travel. I keep hearing rumors about maybe some merchants need some protection of something in this area. Not really having much luck though." He told the guy, wondering if he'd buy it. "Oh, your trying to help some merchants? I don't think you've heard right." The guy told him, as Sashin leaned forward. "What do you mean?" He asked. "Well, no one is being attacked around here or anything like that. It's just that some shipments are being delayed and merchandise is coming up missing." The proprietor told him.

Acting surprised, Sashin asked. "Any idea why?" The proprietor would nodded, and lean forward. "Yeah, some group showed up a few months ago. They offered protection to some of the merchants, and well there wasn't much of a need for it. The Hidden Leaf handles things like that, and that group must not have liked that. Rumor has it they made contact with a leader amongst those merchants and that somehow they're forcing him to reroute some of the shipments of the others. It's a rumor though, as far as I know." Stated the proprietor.

Sashin would tilt his tea cup, back and fourth, as he thought about what he had just heard. "Sounds like someone's either being extorted, or that someone's in on it. What's this leaders name?" He asked, curiously. "Might get involved, huh? I think the guys name was Ryu Jakku. But you didn't hear any of that from me. Anyway, enjoy your tea and come again sometime. Just ask for Tessai next time." He said, as he stood up and knocked on the table top. Nodding, and raising his cup, Sashin finished his cup of tea. Placing some money on the table, he stood up and quietly left.

As of right now, Sashin and the villages suspicions had been somewhat confirmed. There was some group who was involved and shipments were intentionally being delayed. While he hadn't saw the proof with his own eyes, he understood what this 'Tessai' guy was getting at. No doubt he had seen through Sashin's excuse and recognized him as a Shinobi. "He seemed too eager to tell me. Either he's more deeply involved, or his loyalty still lies with the village. Or, these shipments are affecting him." Sashin thought, as he walked the streets of the town. Out of the corner of his eyes, he caught the glances of the civilians looking at him. "People around here seem to be cautious of strangers." He realized, as he looked down towards the ground.

Within moments, he broke the tree line of the tower and quickly changed back into his Anbu gear. "It's time to make a report." He stated, as he headed back to the village. While this mission seemed quick, easy, and rather simple, he knew the implications of it. This was just a calm before a storm, and Sashin was hoping to face it head on.
