Kureji stood at Soon's Harbor once again, more so, at the end of an empty dock, void of any boats, fishermen, or any of the like. After his talk with Glowy dude, whom have said that he is the Kazekage. Their talk was an honest one. Honesty that Kureji wants. However... He grabbed a pebble and attempted to skip it on the water only for it to promptly sink. He let out a sigh. It felt like the guy has Kureji in a noose.
He acted so sincere but talked about cleaning his record like its a godsend to do for Kureji. It was basically do this for us, or you will still be branded a traitor and we'll hunt you down like the dog you are, type of wording. Now Kureji has no doubt that the Kazekage will keep his word but damn... The rock star shook his head as he looked out into the horizon.
The sun was setting over the ocean, bringing in a sense of calmness to such a chaotic world. It would seem peaceful... Too good to be true. It seemed, in his eyes, false. Back during that full scale battle, the puppeteer that he fed to a sandworm had said that Golden Sanctuary is where these Baron guys are along with this trafficking operation.
The very idea made him sick to his stomach and want to rage. He no longer had the powers of a demon to put fear into men. But what he has now will sow death and destruction at a far wider effect than that of having demonic powers. He swore not to be like his father, to forge his own path and cause his own type of trouble. Where Akkuma had gotten the rep to have people now working for him, even before he became a citizen in Sand, Kureji has to make his own by proving how much of a danger he is. He wondered if there has been whispers of his coming and going ons by now. His ruthlessness first shown in battle at Crater City, and now here in Wind Country, where he quite literally, fed a person to a sandworm.
His hand reached out into empty space and closed into a fist, around the neck of a guitar. Thanks to his ability to bend reality to his will, he is able to do such things like this. He plopped down at the edge of the docks and started to play his guitar. It wasn't to any cover of a song that he knew, nor any songs that he has made. Just striking the chords that feel natural to him as music would fill the air. Perhaps some passerby's would stop and take notice. Outside of the mercenary work that Kureji does, he has made a different name for himself.
Originally, he had started the band called Devil's Advocates. But as the years went by, the two bandmates that he did have, went on to live their own lives. He misses them but he also understands that is something that would happen sometimes. As time went on, he made his own music and was eventually betrayed by his own father. That is why he changed the band name to the Liberators. It would also be symbolic to break the chains from anyone are being forced into servitude, one way or another.
Looking back on it, his own sudden impulses back when he was a fresh and new Sand ninja, leaving the Village was the best thing he had done. If he hadn't, he would most likely be just another lame, rule follower that probably think that rank is everything. Being out in the world has taught him things that no amount of time behind Village walls can teach him. He has his own code of conduct. He has learned to not immediately trust others, that they would as soon as backstab you first chance that they get. And he has learned that the biggest thing to impact someone is by change.
But damn.... The life of solitude really sucks sometimes. He has a choice, once all this shit blows over. Go back and live the life that he has been living or become a citizen of Sand once more. He shook his head. This ain't like him to be mulling over things like this. Who's he even kidding? Despite him being a rarity, nobody would even want him. He could even feel that the Kazekage probably only thinks of him as an able bodied fighter with their interests aligned.
And still no talks of actual payment, ugh.... Well, once all this blows over, Kureji would count this as interest and talk to Glowy dude about money and all that. He hasn't forgotten about his debt to the Hokage either. He has enough funds from his concerts to barely cover the costs. But he wants more. More so that he won't ever worry about buying things ever again. Which reminds him... His stomach was grumbling.... He let out another sigh and got up, dropping his guitar but even before it hit the ground, it disappeared. The missing ninja would put his hands in his pockets and walk off to the nearest restaurant.
Because this is a port, most of the restaurants are sea themed. Which was fine but come on! Needs a little diversity here and there. He walked into one that had served mostly clams, crabs, and lobsters. It was weird. No matter how much travelling he has done, he hasn't had much seafood. So he ordered a small bit of everything. Some of it tasted a little weird. Mainly the clams. A little too slimey for him. As for the crabs and lobsters, they were great! After he found out how to crack their shells and legs.
He paid the waiter the amount due along with an unbelievable amount of money as a tip. The girl looked at him as if he was crazy, which he is, and then quit her job on the spot, crying tears of joy, and talked about starting her own business far away from here. The other patrons looked over at Kureji, some recognizing him as a rock star, while others are marveling at just who this person was that had done such a thing. Kureji didn't mind at all. He just finished eating his food and left the restaurant.
It was getting late as he walked the streets of Soon's Harbor by himself. Only a few street lights illuminated here and there to keep the darkness at bay. There were petty criminals afoot, such as purse snatchers, coin stealers, and the occasional black market deal. Those particular people aren't all that smart. Kureji knows that there was a better place for that type of stuff, Golden Sanctuary. Though... They are probably doing their dealings here, thinking it would be safer to deal with Sand ninja than it would be to deal with the Twins. Who knows, maybe they are right. Maybe they're just a bunch of idiots. He won't judge.... much.
A slight wind would be able to bite through Kureji's clothes, to be able to tell him that even though he is in the desert, this is technically the winter times. No snow, no sleet. Just slightly cooler temperatures in the night and tolerable temperatures during the day. He'll have to remember, once his business in Wind Country is wrapped up, to get some winter clothes if he travels anywhere else. He figured that his first stop out of Wind Country would be going back to Leaf to pay off that debt. After that, he might just pay Cloud a visit.
Kureji has seen most of Leaf and Sand but only bits and pieces of Cloud. From what he recalled from his limited time there, it seemed to him that Village was years ahead of the others. Possibly even a decade or two. Yeah... That sounds like it got his attention now. Something like that oughta be interesting with its own characters and culture!
It'd be weird if they were also having a crisis of their own by the time that he arrives. Thinking back on it, when he last visited Leaf, they had their own issues. Some virus that attacked people's chakra systems. And then here, full blown war. What's gonna be going on there by the time he arrives? Armageddon? It's kinda hard to sell himself as a bad guy when all these Villages are having catastrophe after catastrophe that he suddenly is thrust into and solve their problems for them. Seriously, it's irresponsible for them!
It was a nice and easy day for him today. Just hanging out and just preparing his mind for the conflict that'll be coming in the next few days. Such thing would most likely be his biggest ever battle yet. Him blowing up Crater City would pale in comparison to what will await for him in Golden Sanctuary. He would smile and giggle to himself. "This is going to be fun."
