Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The young shinobi known as Peko had been recently assigned a task from the office of the Kazekage. It seemed that an small orphanage in the Grand Palais had recently lost their local mascot, a funny looking stray cat. This request would seem menial, maybe even pointless, but the request did not come from an administrator from the orphanage, it came from the children themselves. The young attendees, befallen with enough misfortune in their young lives. This gesture would go a long way to provide joy to those that have to scrounge to find it naturally.

Another reason this task would not be exactly menial would be the location of the cat's disappearance. The Grand Palais was on the decline, quickly devolving into a slums. The shinobi would have to be vigilant and careful as criminal activity and odd occurrences were seemingly on the rise in this area. Outside of the locational danger, this should be a simple cat recovery mission. All one had to do was find the cat with "two tails and a funny head" as the children described it.

Good luck on your search!

OOC: You need to make at least 2000 words before this mission can end. After your next post I will provide a post for plot progression, so good luck and have fun!

Without a doubt, she had a feeling something like this type of mission would be the first thought any official would consider. These geezers didn't have anything original they had in mind, though she sort of understood that special treats will come in hand later on down this forsaken path of a shinobi. There wasn't much room for peko to complain in her head, all she had to do was to find this strange cat and return it to where it came from, right? It wasn't that long ago before she went off to find the cat for them, peko was generous enough to consider in doing the job; if it means to get some quick cash then it's whatever. Peko honestly likes cats, and she would feel slightly tilted if her cat just bolts off. Peko also has to note that there may be criminals lurking around, so she has to keep her mind sharp and- pay more attention to her surroundings before, she gets caught up in something she doesn't want to be in.

The world was full of unjust moments. Was it truly worthwhile for someone with aspirations of more to be degraded to cat wrangler? Maybe not, but such is the life of a shinobi. Academy Students were given tasks that should carry lower risk because their ability to defend themselves were not as high as some of their older compatriots. However, even with the best intentions, sometimes things going poorly.

Before Peko he would see the sprawling life of the Grand Palais. The structure and the location once were an idea of grandeur. The finest businesses, the finest shops, the finest people and the finest treats. It was meant to be something so much more, but following the insurgency that happened several years back, coupled with the ceiling of the subterranean village being partially ripped off, this location fell to quick ruin. Half of it seemed to support some semblance of its past prime, while one would venture further inward they would see the area suddenly decay around them. The people, both honest and criminal, were mixed and unable to tell apart.

Peko wasn't here to pity or fix the problems of the Palais, instead they were here for a cat. Through a large see of people, deeper into the darkened parts of the slums, they would hear the feint meow of a cat. If they were to move closer they would notice the meows were coming from on top of the roof of a rather rough looking bar. To the left side of the building, there was a rather grotesque dumpster and some loose boxes. Inside the bar, aside from the rough batch of patrons and barkeep, there would be a ladder behind the bar that would lead to the roof. Behind the establishment there was a wall. The wall was just slightly too short for the academy student to naturally jump from the top of it and make it to the roof, or even get close enough to grasp the ledge. It would be closer but would fail just by inches.

So what would the young shinobi do?

"Meeeeeoooooooooooow"

Peko heard the meowing coming from the rooftops, beyond through the sea of people in this wrecked up city. It served as their home alright, ones looking despairing and wanted to get out of such a hell hole; whilst the others were thankful for even existing. Peko thanks her good sense of selective hearing, but bumped out by the lack of parkour skills she has- and feeling as if she would fail if they took the quick route up. “Tch, feels like a waste to just go through all of this and to get to that cat.” peko complained, as she squints towards the cats direction- one hand on her hip while the other, above her eyes. Peko would begin to head to the source of the meowing, running to the left of the building while avoiding people was a hassle. While running she couldn't escape the urge of looking around, this waste dump- lights look as if a dying man was giving his final breath before fading from existence. Lights matched the color of blood, and so will the rest of this place soon enough. If she were to get kidnapped around here, she'll have to go after the old gramps neck after freeing herself from these lowlife idiots.

It's easily possible for someone her stature to get kidnapped; men like cute and vulnerable girls, but what they don't know is that she's harder than any haruno and scarier than a uchiha, but that's what she thinks. After making it from behind the building, the ladder met eye to eye “Grab the cat; get out of here, piece of cake.” it's questionable if this easy task would to be actually easy, but peko wasn't going to let her mind become clouded by other outcomes that might happen afterwards. So she proceeds to climb up the ladder, while looking around her surroundings before anything stupidly unfortunate happen before her.

As our young hero began his trek up the ladder, he would hear a cat call that would entirely different than the meows of earlier.

"He--hey--hey pr*hick*tty gurrr... commere..."

The slurring voice would be accompanied by the pressure associated with a tight grip clasping into the pants leg of Peko. Unfortunately for our young shinobi, a drunk clearly had a hard time discerning between the feminine nature of the young man's appearance and the actuality of it being a boy. Either way, Peko had garnered attention from someone outside of the feline community.

"Issa dangerous... glowy rocks and shi*hick*... stuffs... monsters... rawr... commere!"

He was getting a little more forceful with his request. The man clearly had the size advantage over Peko. Not counting the level of inebriated he was, the man in no way looked like a shinobi so there was a cancel his fighting level and skill were comparable to the young lad should he choose to hop off the ladder and deal with this pushy stranger. However, there would once more be a 'meow' from the roof but this time the sound would seem to be growing faint. Was the cat on the move?

What would young Peko do!

While climbing the ladder, peko noticed a sluggish voice from below and also a tug from his pants leg. “...!?” peko’s attention was now shifted towards, what he assumed was a drunky. Well damn, he didn't realize any drunks would even be coming around here, and peko sure enough isn't getting paid to baby sit a drunl addict. “Let go of me you idiot.” He says, as peko would attempt to kick the man off of his pants leg, while also holding onto the ladder- hoping that he doesn't slip and fall. Peko can't afford for the cat to get anymore further than it already should, it would've been more of a drag if it did. However what did this man mean, but a glowly rock? Peko thought about it for a minute while making it up to the roof, but shook the thought of it, out of his head. Its just drunken nonessential stuff, that he has no interest in knowing what he exactly means.

Also the fact he mentioned monsters, nevertheless it was nonsense and peko doesn't want anything to do with it.

OOC: Sorry about the delay, let's wrap this up. Let me know when you are close to 2000!

Peko would make it to the roof and upon it should would find... not the cat. What she would find would be an interesting scene, however. Before her would be a series of random and wild marks. From just under her feet she would see very visible cat paws, a very ordinary looking paw marking. The tracks would continue forward for a several steps before something odd would happen. The tracks would start to grow, as if a bigger cat had jumped in, and would become erratic. From simple looking over it would appear some tussle had occurred, with even large prints appearing. The oddest thing is that the smaller prints would seemingly stop when the large prints would appear. Was this simply one cat or... cat party? Last thing that would be notice is another noise from the distance:

"Wha-help!!"

"Meeeeoooooooowww!"

This meow, following the cry for help, would be a deeper almost howl as opposed to the normal cat meows from before. Was this still the same cat?
