Hitoshi Raito
AGE: 12
HEIGHT: 5’3”
WEIGHT: 110 lbs.
Physical Description: A lean built figure, due to living impoverished for the past four years, Raito is a free spirited child, wild in nature, and would have probably shown the signs of a carefree youngster had his parents not died. Now, he looks wild in a different aspect. The kind of wild one wants to observe for its beauty and terror from a distance, or through a protective fence. His eyes always darting, looking for exits, wallets, and leftover food, his ice blue eyes piercing through his unruly jet black hair that hung freely over his face. Dark circles hung under those azure crystals, showing the fatigue of scavenging for what he and his brother, Yami, would need to survive. He wore a light tan cowl over his face, so only the eyes were exposed, overtop a white, short sleeved t-shirt, rather dirt covered and stained on occasion, but washed frequently, as shown by the wear and tear in the hem lines. A pair of Dark, ruddy brown cargo pants are his favorite to wear, since they offer many pockets to be filled with the stolen goods he would bring home to Yami so they could eat.
Personality: Even though they’re twins, Raito is technically older than his brother, Yami, even if only by five minutes, but he has a habit of taking on the big brother role, especially when it comes to his brothers safety. Raito would willingly throw himself at an opponent he clearly couldn’t beat just so Yami could get away. He despises those who prey on the weak and helpless, and cares deeply for any and all living creatures, and is the kind to always build up and cheer for the “Underdog”. But he’s not an Optimist, he’s a Realist. He knows that bad things happen, and sometimes they can’t be prevented, which makes him appear cold to some, but he knows he’s just preparing for the worst. Empathetic of his brothers pain of the loss of their parents, Raito takes the hatred and scorn his brother occasionally sends his way, letting his own pain silently build up until he’s alone, and takes his frustration out in an explosive out lashing, usually against a building wall, or some rubble.
History: Son of Seikon Evi and Hitoshi Adame, Raito was born first, five minutes before his brother Yami, and has always since then, his parent had told him, been a bolstering ray of light and energy, but that didn’t last long. At age eight, Anarchy struck their peaceful lives. He was out getting groceries when the artificial sky above went black, and then a face appeared, shrouded in shadow and smoke. He said some things Raito didn’t understand, about rules and leadership, but then he said something about the prisoners being released, and Raito was stricken with panic, and began running home as fast as he could, before anyone else was moving, since the man was still talking. Raito’s father was a Milpol Shinobi, guarding the prison itself, and Raito remembered saying goodbye to him that morning, kissing his father’s cheek and embracing him around his neck. There was a loud rumble, and Raito say the Kazekage tower collapsing in on itself. Tears began trickling down his face, and he threw the food to the ground, hauling as quickly as his legs could carry him, screaming for his mother.
He was too late. Raito stopped as he looked upon his home, the front doors broken in, and the feet of his father’s lifeless body laying in the entryway, a pool of crimson still growing around him. The home was silent as Raito walked in, crying, he saw his mother on the floor, her clothing torn, blood everywhere, his brother, Yami, trying desperately to wake her up, but she wouldn’t respond. Raito collapsed, the crying stopped due to the shock, as he looked at his brother, who returned his gaze for only a moment of distain, a moment of judgment, as if to ask where he was, as if to blame him for what had happened. Four years have passed since the incident began, and anarchy still Reigns supreme over the city, the officials and adults scrambling daily to fix what had happened, but barely making a scratch. Raito now looked after his brother, the two of them, together as sewer rats, scavenging for food, fighting to survive, now, making their way to the Academy, to one day, Raito hopes, make a difference.
