Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

At least there was no one out here right now, Chiaso thought to himself as he sat on a rock in the woods near the village. Admittedly he's surprised he's made it so far to genin, but much less surprised to find himself stuck in this position for the past few years. He was already a late bloomer in the academy, having been held back more than once due to slacking off on his work. Admittedly it was both a surprise and a miracle he managed genin instead of flunking out. What a pain, he thought, but he was already this far. May as well see it through...Getting sent on all those low ranking missions had started to wear on him. He was basically being sent out to do menial labor, and that was the real problem. Well, that and the fact he kept getting moved around from team to team, always being dragged out of the house to go off on some mission he could hardly care to do. So why was he out in this field, meditating and trying to build up his chakra? Well, there's a limit to how many times he can be sent off to move boxes, or god help him farm. He really hated farming. Sitting out in the hot sun for hours as a time tilling grass and getting covered in mud by sowing seeds. Who's idea was it to send a shinobi to do something like that!?

"Uuuugggh."

He would groan out audibly, disturbing the lovely sounds of nature around him. His eyes would slowly peek open, narrowing on a bird that had landed nearby. Right, time to stop wasting time sulking. He'd make a series of hand signs, before giving a low breath as he focused his mind....The bird he was intently staring at shuffled a bit, seemingly discomforted by Chiaso's genjutsu. His instructor said he had a knack for this stuff? What a load.... Though none the less, the determination to get a more comfy set up that required him to do less was the real motivation right now. Hours upon hours of messing with the local wildlife, feeling like Chiaso gave himself more migraines than he did to his practice targets... But none the less, a slow improvement. He'd spend the rest of the day in his room, reading some trashy book he borrowed from the library. Unknown to Chiaso, nearly everything he tried had worked quite well, he was just rather pessimistic about his own skill.

"This would be easier on people."

Chiaso thought to himself, as his eyes focused on a bird currently roosting on a fence. His natural aversion to others left him without a partner to train. Not like he minded...Completely. Though it would be hard to convince most people to open their minds up to that of a genjutsu user. Chiaso's "affinity" did not go unnoticed, that's for sure. While genjutsu is powerful and a useful tool for any shinobi, one tends to get a reputation for overuse of it. Many rogue ninja are known for their ability to twist the minds and bend the will of those around him. Is it predestined that he'll go down that route some day? He hopes it isn't, because dealing with that seems like it'd be a real drag.

Though no matter how much he trains for the sake of looking busy, he feels it never amounts to much. That's probably why he's still a genin at this point. Most people that are genin at nineteen are practically the biggest losers in the ninja world. That was his thoughts on this whole ordeal, and only added to his lack of motivation to improve. Though improve he did, if unnoticed, even by himself. That bird he was staring at, while its expression was blank, will fully under the sway of his genjutsu. His eyes reflected in it's own, a dreary look that was tired, and just wanted to be anywhere else. He keeps training even though he hates it, and he doesn't even know why he does this. Probably out of habit if he had to guess, as he hated breaking routines. Be that as it may, tomorrow he's just going to stay in his room all day reading a few magazines...If he doesn't get dragged out by whoever's on his team this week.
