Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kitsune was notified of a mission for a performance. The details seemed vague but it was going to be for a couple’s 20th wedding anniversary party at a restaurant in Maruishi and she had been asked for specifically. She enjoyed what she did and if the people wanted her and they were paying it didn’t seem like a bad thing. With a location and time given all she’d have to do was show up and perform to a captive audience.

It was a nice evening out, Kitsune would notice although the venue was going to be indoors it might put her in a good mood for a performance. She had been given very little information on the mission though possibly something they’d spring on her last minute like which songs they’d prefer and a little background on the couple and how they meet. As she reached the back entrance she’s noticed a guard look at her and nod before promptly opening a door for her to enter before she explain who she was and why she was there. Entering the man would simply acknowledge her as ‘Miss’ before the door would close behind her.

Inside she would hear someone arguing with another person. Explaining the ‘Talentless girl’ was late since she wasn’t early by the ‘standards of a professional’ and that she should be knocked off the list of performance. The other seemed to tell him to calm down since there was still plenty of time plus the band hadn’t all gotten there either. The first man scoffed muttering he was wondering if this ‘girl’ really did have the chops her reputation supposedly said she did when he noticed someone coming in.

”I thought you said my request for a hair sty-“ the taller man said before the person next to him cut him off.

”Miss Shikame I hope the directions weren’t to much trouble. Thank you for coming. Please forgive Mr. Kikugawa he’s a bit taken aback by the mission request since he wasn’t told by the couple this was actually going to be a battle of entertainers.” The young lady explained laughing nervously after greeting you. Her eyes plead with an apology and seem to beg for you to stay.

”Kikugawa Ieyasu, is more then enough for any crowd.” he boldly stated flicking a hand out in front of him opened before clenching it and shaking his fist as he pulled it in closing his eyes. ”I apologize in advance for any women in the crowd that faint or any small babe that cry in joy due to my performance. It is a blessing as well as a curse.” he explained.

[OoC: Feel free to either start coming in with the response to the setting or just showing up in front of the two]

The evening skies were beautiful today, in was a shame she will have to spend it inside. However she could use the yen and she enjoyed playing in front of an audience. When she got to the build the guard at the back door stops her. The guard was big, muscular and very intimidating. Kitsune would guess he works part time as a bouncer or something. Holding a clipboard the guard asks her in a bellowing voice, “Name?”

“Shikame Kitsune. I am the entertainer for the evening.” The guard flips through the pages and then takes a pen to cross out her name. He opens the door for her and she enters to see a couple of people having some sort of argument. The woman comes up to her and explains the situation. “Please just call me Kitsune and… Battle?” She asks with a raised eyebrow. Kitsune was a healer not a fighter. If she knew this is what the mission entailed she would have rejected taking this mission and from the sound of the entertainer, he was just as upset about it. However she is already here so it’s too late to back out now. Kitsune rolls her eyes at the man’s gives some type of warning about women fainting. Oh great the couple hired an entertainer that thinks he’s a professional just because he’s popular in the village of Stone. Kitsune is a true professional for she is a gypsy; entertainment runs in the family. Not only has she practiced since she was five, but such skills are in her blood. Unfortunately, little does she know, it’s in his blood as well. “I am more than a simple entertainer I assure you. I can weave illusions into my song and dance thus enhancing the quality of my art. Can you say the same, Mister Kikugawa?”

”Battle may not be the most appropriate of terms, it will be a competition on stage I guess to see who can move the crowd the best. It was the couple’s idea since they couldn’t decide on which one of you to pick so they picked both. There’s no prize really for winning besides being the one who makes the crowd the most happy.” she explained.

The young lady almost fell over at the bold although possible fake accusations of the man next to her on his ability. After Kitsune retorts back about her own abilities the man jerks for a second as if hit in the face a slight smile creasing his lips, ”We all weave illusions in our songs from our hearts and our very soul Miss Shikame. While I will not cheapen my voice with such tricks as dancing and flashy sights; it’s clarity and pitch will speak for themselves, if it is something you do… if you enjoy it… and it makes the crowd smile… it’s truly something I would like to see.” he stated a slight melancholy look on his face, ”I wish to get ready. Notify me when I need to get on stage.” he added curtly looking in the direction of the manager for the party. With a nod he walked off.

The manager watched him leave and sighed quietly, she looked to Kitsune and was about to say something but stopped. ”Um did you want me to tell you about the couple?” she asked after clearing her throat. She’d explain how a young new police detective meet an at the time young Iwa ninja as a witness for an investigation. They initially argued so much about his case and when it was over they still talked, they didn’t argue as much which is why they got married. They still argued but they’d been together for some time so they must really like each other or love arguing. In her explanation which she seemed to really enjoy talking about she only glanced at Kitsune making eye contact only for a few seconds.

Well it was still a half hour before the time she was requested to come. Kitsune really did try to come in a timely manner. The information on the couple was nice but she is likely to stay with her usual wedding adversary repartee. Since there was time she did have a small request for the woman. “Can you show me where I will be singing?” There are many factors that are nice to know beforehand, so she knows what type of dances and songs she will be singing. The location of the stage is very important. If the stage is in front of everybody she would dance differently than if the stage was in the center of the room. If there is no stage and she is to walk amongst the audience that calls for a different type of dance as well. The presence of a band also changes things as well. Depending on which instruments the band brought she has an idea what type of music they desire. If the band is made up of guitars and drums, she would likely want to do pop and rock. If the band is a cello, piano and violin probably want to stick with the classics. Also the acoustics of the room is nice to check as well.

The awkward manager nodded profusely to the request and escorted Kitsune out of the back area of the club for a change in pace. Walking from the area they were in the path was painted black it seemed and light shown from the stage as they neared. Several musicians prepped various instruments and chatted amongst themselves. Two in the back closest you Kitsune and her guide were talking over a set of drums and several sets or percussion instruments. Three people seemed to be listening and tuning a guitar, a bass guitar, and a violin. The guitar players seemed to have similar features. The manager would get a smirk and a nod from a man jamming what looked like a small twig back into his mouth to chew on before he flexed his fingers and leaning back against his piano watching Kitsune and the manager move past. The duo of ladies would see two more people who seemed to be prepping a trumpet and clarinet. The trumpet player had another case next to them with a disassembled saxophone as well they hadn’t gotten to yet it seemed. Looking out Kitsune would see a dining area lower than the stage, to her right an area for food seemed to be getting set up and along the back bartenders were readying themselves for the night. Various tables were being set and candles lit. The smokey cyan walls seemed darker in the low lights as Kitsune looked around. The manager tried to get all the musicians attentions but a sudden blast from the trumpet player did the trick it seemed.

”This is Miss Kitsune. She’ll be performing tonight… please answer any questions she has.” stated stepping back a bit from Kitsune.

The crew of musicians looked in Kitsune’s direction. She could hear the whispers though of wonder if she was going to act like ‘him’.

[OoC: Feel free to come up with names and genders if you like for who you talk to, if not I'll just roll with it. They're free if you have any questions for them.]

Kitsune standing in front of the band the first thing that came to her mind was, “Damn and I thought my family played an interesting assortment of instruments. I mean look at me; I’m carrying bells, a guitar, a violin and a tambourine.” Kitsune smile disappears and transforms into a more shy expression. “Oh, I do hope you don’t mind me playing with you guys.” From her experience a band is like a family and she would not want to force herself onto them. Of course seeing how she is not like the other guy they welcome her into the fold. “Actually how would you guys like to help me in my entertainment? Do any of you like to dance and would be willing to do so in front of an audience?” Dancing was fun but dancing with a partner was even more so. With the help of the people here, this family, she may just be able to defeat her opponent. While mister Kikugawa places himself on a pedestal separate and alone, Kitsune will rise above him. Not by crushing others and making other feel inferior but by rising the value of the band which will then in turn will raise her up. She will defeat him with kindness and humility; something he greatly lacks.

The man at the piano was the first to speak up, ”We don’t mind darling, we do it for the thrills and to pay the bills right people he said before spinning in his chair and his hand gliding down the ivory keys of the piano before sitting back into his original position the twig wagging up and down in his mouth. The others seemed in agreement. The guitar players possibly brothers looked at each other at the request for a dance partner and started to do an exchange of rock paper scissors. The violinists a younger girl seemed to appear out of nowhere between the due and simply stated in a quiet voice they weren’t allowed if they were playing their instruments and buffed her cheeks. The young man with a trumpet in his hand looked at the saxophone and the clarinet player next to him. The clarinet player shrugged and nodded in the direction of Kitsune. ”I’ll d-“ the young man started before he was interrupted from the back.

”Hai! Hai! Here! I’ll do… we’ll do it. No one pays attention to what we’re doing as long as they can still hear one of us!” one of the guys in the back explained cheerfully. The brothers huffed and sighed slightly looking at them. The more silent of the two percussion instrument players tipped his hat off only to flick it back up as he turned rapidly to show he at least knew one move of showboating before putting a hand out to an imaginary partner and dancing to an unheard tune. Wow wow… save it for later man. Don’t show off all your moves.” the more chatty of the duo explained, ”Oh unless the manager wants to get up on stage and dance with you!” he added slightly teasing. Kitsune could almost feel the heat from the lady behind her in the form of embarrassment.

Discussion would move into what Kitsune wanted to play so they’d know who would actually be available for what and who could dance, the guitarists pointed out there was a small dance floor in front of the stage as well. Time soon came and a curtain was dropped. The party seemed to mostly arrive at the same time, the sudden round of applause meant the guests of honor had shown up. Food was served quickly and the event was underway. The manager made a small speech of congratulations to the couple and shared anicdotes about them. Kitsune would be a little surprised to hear the manager finish the speech by telling her parents congratulations and that she loved them. If Kitsune spent any time wondering around back stage she would notice Kikugawa off by himself his head slightly cocked to the side listening intently to the festivities. A cup of some kind of tea in his hand that he sipped occasionally with an odd spice scented aroma that tickled Kitsune’s nose. As they were called out and introduced he would wave to the crowd and as the audience quieted down he would bow slightly in Kitsune’s direction, ”Please… Ladies first.” he declared.

Okay it was time to begin the show and Kikugawa was nice enough to let her take the first go. Although she wouldn’t mine seeing what he’s got first, but she wasn’t going to argue about it. For the first song she decided to do something that will surely blow her competition out of the water. If he is going to have her go first, then she is going to make herself a tough act to follow. Kitsune takes her guitar and holds it as if she was going to play. However instead she lets go of the instrument, but the guitar did not fall. It floated there as if held by some invisible person. As she walks away from it the stringed instrument begins to play seemingly by itself. It truth she was using the art of puppetry, holding and playing the guitar with strings invisible to the human eye.

Despite the lies that you're making
Your love is mine for the taking
My love is
Just waiting
To turn your tears to roses

She walks over to the band and surely the two guitarists are wondering which she is going to pick to dance with her. However she chose neither of them and took the violinist instead. For this song required a female companion. The woman didn’t need to dance if she didn’t want to; all she really needed her to do was stand there as Kitsune serenade her.

Despite the lies that you're making
Your love is mine for the taking
My love is
Just waiting
To turn your tears to roses

She cast a Tourniquet jutsu on the violinist causing her to cry scarlet tears. Kitsune catches the few dropets that drips form her cheek and from out of nowhere she summons a red rose in her hand. The flower was partially transparent for it was an ethereal weapon.

I will be the one that's gonna hold you
I will be the one that you run to
My love is
A burning, consuming fire

Kitsune places the rose behind her ear and runs her hand gently through the violinists long black hair. Kitsune then takes a couple of steps back as she sings the next couple of stanza. She will need a little room for these next illusions.

No
You'll never be alone
When darkness comes I'll light the night with stars
Hear the whispers in the dark
No
You'll never be alone
When darkness comes you know I'm never far
Hear the whispers in the dark
Whispers in the dark

She casts a verse of darkness illusion covering the entire room in a veil of shadow. She then switches the illusion to a false surroundings creating small balls of light floating around in the darkness.

You feel so lonely and ragged
You lay here broken and naked
My love is
Just waiting
To clothe you in crimson roses

I will be the one that's gonna find you
I will be the one that's gonna guide you
My love is
A burning, consuming fire

Manipulating her False Surroundings jutsu she transforms the balls of light into glowing flowers which danced over the many table tops. With the end of the song the illusionary roses burst into flame and disappear. The light then returns to normal as it was now Kikugawa’s turn to impress the audience. Kitsune walks of stage with her partner and her floating instrument hesitantly follows after her.

Kitsune took the offer to go first and ran with it starting out strong and not pulling any punches in the competition. The crowd watched as the guitar in her arms was let go and stayed suspended and began to play by itself as she walked away. Mummering from the crowd and the initial oohs and aahs could be heard. As the music started the pianist stared to play along to the song catching on pretty quickly, the bass guitarist picking up the base rhythm and giving it a deeper background beat with his accompaniment. As Kitsune walked over the two brothers they slightly elbowed each other before she walked past them and taking the hand of the violinist. The bass guitarist didn’t have as much time to gawk since he was playing but the one next to him caught the violinist look back and him and put up two fingers in the form of a V.

She wasn’t surprised as Kitsune sang to her but she was when she suddenly cried Kitsune sweeping them away the audience seeing the red tears but suddenly altered into a red rose. The audience clapped but it slowly died down since it seemed more of a magic act than ninjutsu in the setting. As Kitsune used the conjured item as an ornament she ran fingers through the violinists black hair. Without her violin though and in the front where people could see her she did feel a bit out of place with the attention on her.

As the lights seemed to dim small balls of light burst forth and danced to the music trailing around the area. The percussion section seemed to catch the right timing and joined in the drummer slamming down with quick clashes, his partner hitting small mallets to an odd set up that sounded like a cross between the plucking of string and the hitting of wood (a Mariba).

As the song ends the illusionary rose catches fire and streaks away leaving a larger explosion. The crowd applauded some standing since usually music performances didn’t have a lot of effects. Walking off with the violinist she noticed the look in Kikugawa’s eyes were unchanged it seemed from the spectacular start to the show. A slight smile on his lips though as he walks onto the stage with the crowd still clapping. As the crowd calmed down he spoke.

”Thank you for that, Miss Shikame ladies and gentlemen. Can I get another round of applause for the talented young singer, musician, and shinobi.” he stated extended a hand off stage to Kitsune getting another round of applause from the crowd, ”From what I hear she is a medical ninja so do not be alarmed if you fall in love with her and your heart stops. She is on site to provide medical attention if needed as well.” he joked getting a few chuckles from the crowd.

”We have a lot of great songs lined up for the night. Congratulations to the couple. Twenty years is quite some time to accomplish in life just by oneself. This song is dedicated to you two and any couple here for doing what you do… together.” he explained turning and muttering something to the guitarist.

In the silence the solo guitarist got pretty good acoustics as he plucked along a simple song. Kikugawa listened his eyes closing tapping his thigh to the beat with his hand bobbing his head. As he song Kitsune had to admit that man did have a voice behind him that seemed pretty big. Either through practice or enhanced by chakra be began to sing a song. As he sang the guitarist was a little surprised when visage of a woman flew from his guitar to the young man Kikugawa. Arms wrapped around him and a hand held the ethereal illusion to him. It was a nice simple song. He simply sung it holding onto his ethereal partner on stage swaying slightly to the song.

Kitsune could tell though as a musician there was a bit of sadness to his song as he sung it, it didn’t show on his face or the inflection of his voice more like he was doing something that she could feel felt somewhat lonely.

As he finished he looked out at the crowd his ethereal partner fading away, ”Thank you…” he said after a slight pause getting applause from the audience. Kitsune could tell there were a few people looking at each other and smiling or couples with this head against each other. ”Now let’s this party going! Miss Shikame Ladies and Gentlemen.” he stated.

While Kitsune went big he went for something small opening up. Not as showy as she thought he would have done but he went for the couple as a gesture possibly as well as any couple in the audience. The young lady would realize he was being actually a lot nicer than he was back stage. Speculations on his showmanship would probably start to make the girl wonder what his plan was. She definitely showed she had the better display to the crowd of show presense so what was this sheepish act now he was doing versus before behind the stage? Plus he said his comments on using flashy illusions and then he uses one. It wasn't flashy really but still.

”Ladies.” he would say with a curt bow coming to the side next to Kitsune so she could take the stage again.

[spoilername="By Your Side"]You think I'd leave your side baby
You know me better than that
You think I'd leave you down when you're down on your knees
I wouldn't do that
I'll tell you you're right when you want
Ha ah ah ah ah ah
And if only you could see into me

Oh, when you're cold
I'll be there
Hold you tight to me

When you're on the outside baby and you can`t get in
I will show you you're so much better than you know
When you're lost and you're alone and you can't get back again

After the guy mentioning her being able to give medical attention she jokingly adds. “Now no faking to get me to preform mouth to mouth recitation. Trust me I will be able to tell.” She looks at the crowd menacingly as if warning them not to try, but it was quite obvious that she was fighting back a smile. She figured if he was going to have a laugh with the crowd then so was she.

She listened as he sang and almost immediately she knew what he was. A Hashigaki she should have known. Being that such a bloodline runs in her family, including her mother, she is well aware of the skills. She could easily recognize the chakra infused notes and the ghost dancer. She has to admit it was a handy jutsu to have. The two of them were definitely different in there means of entertainment. Kitsune was a gypsy who uses her illusion to paint extravagate images to move one’s soul. True it might be a little flashy, but that’s just the way she is and she’s not go to change anytime soon. As he comes close to ending his song Kitsune walks over to the piano pulling a piece of sheet music out of her pack for the next song and handing it to the player.

Within the art of illusion only one sense can be occupied at any given time, which makes it hard to create both environment and character. Normally she plays the character, but with these sorts of songs she needed two characters. She needed to be creative and creative she was. As the piano begins to play she turns her back to the audience. Before her she summons an ethereal cherry tree with its branches bare. She then pulls out her violin and sits down back against the left side of the tree. As she sits comfortably she begins to play her violin with a gentle tune and weaving into it her own creation jutsu. She casts a Night Mare jutsu however it was not a horse that appeared on stage. No, she is far too talented to keep the jutsu in its basic form. Instead she summons a human figure; it was a tall dark and handsome man. A few people might even recognize the entity as Kieta, the head shaman in the village of stone.

The illusionary Keita appears on the right side of the stage and was walking towards the tree. Kitsune sits on the other side and thus does not notice him until he has already passed her. She starts to get up and go after him but it was too late. He has already passed and vanishes off the other side of the stage. She then stands in front of the tree still playing and the tree begins to bud as if to show the passage of time. As she stands there Keita appears once again walking towards the tree but this time she sees him coming. She steps up her playing a little; however he simply passes by like she was not even there. A tears rolls down her cheek as Keita disappears from the stage. Wiping away the tears, the cherry blossoms go into full bloom. Keita appears again and this time she really tires hard to grab his attention. She plays and dances but still seems to be invisible to him. Upset she makes her violin shriek, which finally grabs his attention. Cherry blossoms begin to gentle fall for the tree like flakes of snow. Keita walks up to Kitsune and places a hand on her cheek wiping away some of her tears. Kitsune could not look happier. His head creeps down towards hers and she closes her eyes. Before their lips meet the song ends and him and the tree vanishes.

An interpretive peace quieted the audience as they listened to the stirring melody of music in the genre more to the likes of a ballard. The sad sweet melody quieting even the small children ending in the ethereal man scattering like the tree in a flourish of petals before vanishing. Kitsune had occasionally looked to the side to see what the trickster of sounds was up to. For some odd reason he had gotten a drink of sorts and seemed to be eating Sunflower seeds from his hands movements to his mouth. He didn't really to be all that fantastical with the goofy look on his face looking with his head cocked to the side slightly as he listened as if getting some joke finally someone had told him. As the hush fulls over the crowd her rival in the competition was the first to start a slow clap. With a glass in his hand filled with ice and a clear liquid he clapped as he went on stage moving to the back going around to the drummer, bass guitarist, and pianist giving Kitsune to thank her audience. With the ovations and cheers his actions weren’t as noticeable to everyone still paying attention to Kitsune. He seemed to explain a few things into the musicians ears. They seemed slightly annoyed cocking their head as if thinking about it before he went into more words each time but each nodded and he eventually moved to the front of the stage as they started playing soon after Kitsune left the stage

”I hope everyone is enjoying themselves, we’ve touched your hearts probably by now with performances by the lovely Miss Shikame’s and myself… now let’s see if we can touch your bodies and get you moving.” he announced quickly before he belted out with a song. Kitsune could hear the slight whisper close to her of the young man saying he'd be borrowing her voice for a bit. It seemed odd, plus it'd look weird for him to suddenly start singing way out of his range of voice. Or was this one of his unique abilities.

[col]
Tapping his foot to the music he jabbed out his free hand into the air over
the crowd as he started to sing. Shrugging a bit to his own
lyrics with a smile as he sang.
|
It's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.
[/col]

[col]
Bouncing on the balls of his feet to the music
his hand came back pointing to his eye as a finger
ran down his cheek before holding up the glass
in his hand. He swayed slightly twisting his upper body to the music.
|
Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.
[/col]

[col]
Looking out into the audience he actually looked really excited
as if he was really trying to propose to someone. His thumbed the air pointing out
as if to an actual place with one hand his drink hand raising a finger to his
lips as if it was a secret before holding up his drink and shrugging
pulling out his pocket showing what looked like a handful of yen. A
mischievous grin on his face developed as he nodded to the music
|
Well I know this little chapel on the boulevard we can go oh oh oh,
No one will know oh oh oh,
Oh, come on, girl.
Who cares if we're trashed got a pocket full of cash we can blow oh oh oh,
Shots of patron,
And it's on, girl.
[/col]

[col]
With a slightly drunk looking spin he wagged a finger pouting as
he sang his 'No' leaning away from the crowd before belting out ever
louder bobbing his head to the music as he said 'Yeah'. He hopped across the
stage almost comically dancing as he walked before stabbing a finger out at
the crowd before jamming his thumb back at himself.
|
Don't say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we'll go, go, go, go-go.
If you're ready, like I'm ready.
[/col]

[col]
Still bouncing he waved a hand over the crowd before
listening to the music hearing bells which was odd to the musician
since there was no bells or buildings close by with bells.
|
Cause it's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.
[/col]

[col]
Looking back to the crowd he mimicked his early
moves as the bells kept playing. Running a finger down his check and holding up his cup.
|
Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.
[/col]

[col]
As he continued to sing he stopped as he got to the like and paused with Kitsune’s voice
coming from the sidelines harmonizing in sync perfectly to the rythym and his tone
before he winked at her and continued half running half dancing as he turned to the music
moving across the front of the stage area playing to the crowd as if running beckoning
Kitsune it seemed.
|
I'll go get a ring let the choir bells sing like oooh,
So what you wanna do?
Let's just run girl.
[/col]

Kitsune can tell it wasn't her singing on que but it did sound like her. He was pretty cheeky it seemed. The little stinker somehow mimicked her voice besides just the wedding bells.

[col]Stretching he sang as if just gettting up and his facial expression was of that of someone getting
bad news before he shrugs and smirked cocking his head before running across the stage to the side Kitsune was on again.|
If we wake up and you wanna break up that's cool.
No, I won't blame you;
It was fun, girl.
[/col]

[col]
He wagged a finger as he sang Kitsune’s voice spouting out again saying 'No's' this time in unison with his from
the sidelines. Smirking he belted out his voice even louder bobbing as he sang before moving away from the side across the stage.
|
Don't say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we'll go, go, go, go-go.
If you're ready, like I'm ready.
[/col]

[col]
The instruments even though they were still playing seemed to fade to the sound of bells except
for the piano the bells getting louder or nearer it seemed as he continued.
|
Cause it's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.
[/col]

[col]
As he bobbed to the softer or unheard beat it caught back up getting louder. By now he was either tipsy
from drinking or just a comical dancer as he bounced and turn in place.
|
Just say I doooooo-ooo uhu,
Tell me right now baby,
Tell me right now baby, baby.
[/col]

[col]
The bells seemed to move into the distance his voice and the sound of the piano taking up the sounds of the stage
|
Oh, it's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you.

Oddly enough he in his wild antics he did manage a stage slide to the front before belting out the last line without messing up his timing.

As the crowd cheered he got up and waved it was surprising how clear his voice was over the noise but Kitsune knew it was chakra amplying his voice, "Thank you people! How about after this next round we get in some duets to get you dancing! That is if Miss Shikame is up to it. It's a wonder crowd and after a song or two, Hey baby I think I want ta sing with you." he said out to the crowd his last line singing to Kitsune.

"How bout it Miss Shikame? Not as painful as me asking for your hand right?" he said winking at her.

If it was a competition how would they know for the last two rounds who won if they were duets. The man was all over the place it seemed and by his wild antics either a shifty tactical genius or a complete idiot. The crowd waited for her response as he walked off the stage towards her. Kitsune saw him pull a crystal from his pocket and shake it in his hand mischievously.

This was not a wise move on his part for two can play that game. You see there is a prophecy dealing with Luna the gypsy goddess of the night and the ruler of dreams. It is said that her spirit will escape her imprisonment in the moon and take a mortal as her vessel. Lucky Kitsune she was the one that shall contain her. She wished the prophecy didn’t fail to mention that Luna was still partially corrupted as The Nightmare. It was Luna that explained her chimera powers. True Kitsune was able to attain the kinjutsu on her own but that was only the attainment of other Core Abilities. By herself she could not even do bloodlines and it was an extremely long process too. Luna was just what the doctor order. By using the power of dreams Kitsune could use Chimera to its fullest extent. It is a person’s dreams are where one draws the courage to weave feelings, the hope to connect feelings, the passion to move feelings and gives one the power to accomplish. It is the strongest and brightest place in a person’s heart. By tapping into the powers of one’s dreams she can mystically replicate their abilities.

“A duet sounds lovely. I’m sure we can make sweet music together, though it’s too bad you don’t play an instrument.”</COLOR> As he passes her, she takes a deep breath as if inhaling the energy she took from him. She copies his Enthralling Voice, so well in fact that she sounded just like him. She didn’t need no crystals to do what he did. When she got up on stage she spoke to him in front of everybody and was curious to see his reaction to her mimicking his voice. “Since you used my voice for your song, it’s only fair play for me to use your voice for mine.” She then gives Ieyasu a flirtatious smile and wink. She then proceeds to sing and song called, ‘My Irish Molly.’ As she sings she casts a Night Mare jutsu once more, however she molds it into a different figure this time. Her jutsu would take the same appearance as the ghost dancer Ieyasu used in his first song. Her and her creation jutsu danced merrily as she sang.

With the end of her song her pseudo ghost dancer vanishes and Kitsune returns her voice to normal. <COLOR color="#BF0040">“Now that we had our fun mimicking one another, shall we duet? Or would you like to have another go.” Kitsune would not be surprised if he chose to sing by himself once more. After all she has done three songs and he merely only two. Perhaps he even had other tricks up his sleeve. She doubts it especially with his statement of I will not cheapen my voice with such tricks.

He seemed flustered by the thought of him playing an instrument his hand going to behind him and smoothing the back of his pants for some reason before chuckling slightly thanking her for giving him the opportunity to be accompanied by her, he’d cough suddenly stopping his laughing and slightly sounded almost like he was choking, a handkerchief coming out to cover his mouth motioning her to get going for her next number.

The odd tone of Kitsune’s voice although sounding like Ieyasu got a nod from the young man and a gesture to continue. Although the audience seemed a bit confused it was a good song to dance or drink to several in the back already drinking seemed to enjoying it getting up to dance as well as clashing beer mugs together as they hooked elbows and spun around having a enjoyable time. So far the young man hadn’t really gotten the crowd to dance so it was clear she had one upped him again.

Kitsune got the audience clapping along to the song during her performance noticing her rival sneaking off to the bar, his white handkerchief not showing up as brightly in his hand. The color seeming to have a more reddish pattern on it now, it was curious to what was going on with him although he downed several drinks of something before moving back.

”I do have one more song up before we start trying to figure out how to harmonize.” he comments as if nothing major was going on. ”What would you want to sing to get them dancing? This round coming up you pick and I’ll chime in where you want me to… It’s not like I can play instruments though… So don’t request such a thing from me please Miss Shikame.” he said to Kitsune showing some level of insight possibly as to why. He probably just didn’t play instruments because he didn’t know how or he was horrible at it. He seemed to me covering his back pocket again.

Moving off hurriedly to the percussion section he pointed and seemed to ask about an odd instrument that looked a cylinder with an odd moving handle. Talking to the drummer, pianist, and bass guitarist again they didn’t seem as agitated this time. As he talked to the rest the musicians seemed to look at each other puzzled but shrugged.

The bass started to strum a pretty simple rhythm while the odd instrument wobbled in interval. The percussionist got a few odd looks from the rest of the musicians but he just shrugged as the drummer and pianist joined in. Swaying again he started to sing to the music clapping and stepping back and forth to the beat sometimes singing to the crowd sometimes facing the band. As certain intervals the band seemed to joined into the singing. He began moving between those musicians not playing and dancing through the group that eventually although not as reluctantly as one would think joined in with him. During the refrain it seemed he we would just way a hand in the air or clap those dancing joining in.

As the song finished he beckoned Kitsune over wiping sweat from his brow, ”What are we going to do.” he asked nodding towards the band. He sounded a bit hoarse which was odd since he wasn’t belting out as much as before. He seemed to be waiting to be told what to do though.

Sure enough he does finish off the round with one more song; however to her it was clear what the side effects were to his little mimicry he did before and she was not amused in the slightest. Kitsune shakes her head in disappointment for she thought of him as an utter fool. He was a complete idiot and she could not possibly imagine what possessed him to do such a thing as swallowing those sound crystals. The two of them were being paid to merely act like it was a battle between entertainers right? There was no actual prize for the winner; surely not a prize big enough to make your throat bleed to get it. When Ieyasu came down to her to ask what they were going to do, she slaps him on the back of the head with the palm of her hand. The bells on her bangles jingled upon impact and she uses the little chime to cast a healing melody upon the man. This would stop the bleeding. She then begins to berate at him in hushed tones, “You imbecile, what were you thinking? No, don’t answer that. I don’t want to know, because I don’t think you were. If you were thinking you would have known that was reckless.” Kitsune was starting to sound like her mother. “I do some interesting tricks in my line of work, but I would never... I repeat never risk my voice on a silly stunt like that.” Kitsune then reaches into her pack and pulls out a vial of some viscous green liquid. “This is a little gypsy remedy I use when I lose my voice. It should take care of that hoarseness in your voice.” She hand the bottle to Ieyasu with a warning, “Now I know it smells horrible and taste worst but I need you to drink the whole thing. After you’ve done that, then we can discuss our next move.”

He flinched as he was smacked and chastised for his childish ways and way of thinking as Kitsune healed his internal wound. ”I don’t know when Miss Shikame is looking at me but I know when you’ll hear me.” he admitted hoarsely he seemed to want to say more but didn’t while she tended to the foolish young man. It seemed like a simple move to him, he wouldn’t loss his voice for the rest of his life. Granted after the night’s performance he may loss his voice for a few days but he didn’t think if things had been much worse she was right in that if it was the only voice he’d have so he should treasure it more.

Kikugawa moved forward his hand seeming clumsy as he start to grasp out suddenly stopping as the first whiff of the remedy. As his nostrils flared out his face grew purplish and then tones of blue.

Is she that mad she’s trying to poison me!!! he thought to himself while putting his hand up as if to guard from the smell. Meek attempts to make excuses fell out of the young man with deaf ears hearing them. Telling him to just hold his nose got him moving around more and more like a child as if he could escape. As she eventually got him to down the concoction he seemed to cry scrapping at his tongue with his fingers to get the taste off.

[OoC: I'll leave the rest of the effects on him up to you on the concoction]

Okay Kitsune’s main talent is in playing and instrument and Ieyasu main talent is in his voice. So instead of a duet, perhaps a song with him singing and her playing would be in order. Though there was one song she would love to duet, but it did not fit the scene; maybe another day she will find someone to sing a special lullaby with her. “Do you know, ‘You Raise me up’?” If not she will quickly teach him the song, but hopefully he knows it. “I’ll play you sing. Got it, good. Let get this over with.” As Kitsune walks on stage with Ieyasu she makes some sort of hand gesture telling the band she will be playing alone.

With a flick of the wrist she causes her bells to chime and with it she creates a single clone. The clone continues to walk with Ieyasu while the real Kitsune makes her way to the piano. She asks the pianist if he wouldn’t mind her playing and smiles as he gives up his seat to her. Kitsune truly was an instrumentalist for there were only a few that she could not play and they were mostly brass and windpipe. The clone standing with Ieyasu takes the guitar strap to its back and moves it to playing position. Kitsunes fingers dance upon the ivories she begins the sweet melody. Her clone waits patiently for her part, but will surely play equally as well.

Ieyasu nodded as she asked him about the song 'You Raise Me Up', "I have absolutely no idea." he declared without embarassment it seemed before she taught him the song. The band seemed a bit taken aback from the sudden break but took it none the less stretching off behind stage or going to get a drink, they had been playing songs back to back for a bit now it seemed. Ieyasu seemed disappointed Kitsune wouldn't be singing with him it seemed. A double walked with Ieyasu to the front of the stage as Kitsune made her way to the piano. The song performed seemed powerful and the sudden spotlight on the couple from one of the free band members had the husband sliding down in his chair before his wife suddenly stood causing him to slink further down knowing what was to follow. Rumors of her being a former ninja seemed true as the woman half dragged half lifted him from his hiding place towards the dance floor. Choice words were whispered suddenly getting full cooporation fas the aniverssary couple started to dance. As they slow danced several other couples joined in. Ieyasu seemed a bit nervous from all the daggers stared at him from various male dance partners and slightly stood behind Kitsune's double for protection. As the song ended though there were several people still on the dance floor and from around the room several people were clapping.

When the song and applauds were over Ieyasu smiled mischeviously and asked the band to join him along with Kitsune... "Okay last song... there's still some people on the dance floor and Miss Shikame hasn't sang with me yet, if you guys don't mind singing back up do you want to sing, 'You're the one that I want'?" he asked the assembled group. If Kitsune agreed she'd have to sing alongside him but for a change the band would get a chance to sing as well. Something they hadn't had to really do tonight yet. The crew looked at Kitsune to see if she'd agree.

Kitsune lets out a small sigh and hopes the remedy lasts. That potion is a short term fix; it will take some days of rest to actually heal. “One last song. Now what song shall we sing next.” She then walks up to Ieyasu and whispers into his ear. “But I suggest you make it a quick one for that remedy only lasts so long.”

[sorry for crap post but I got another mission lined up. Need to wrap this one up]

(OoC: In that case...)
Although Kitsune agreed although the band looking and staring at her rival for the night got his ears turning read and muttering it's just a song. The song was easy enough to get the people up and moving to at various ages with even children running around or dancing to. Everyone reluctantly making merry for a few minutes especially the anniversary couple. The band didn't seem to give Ieyasu the cold shoulder during the performance and everyone seemed to have a generally good time. A few other songs spun off afterwards until the early morning as the jubilation from the party seemed slightly contagious. Tired watching the band pack up Kitsune noticed Ieyasu had left somewhere during the party after the performance. If she checked his dressing room area she'd find a letter addressed to her.

She'd hear the back door slam shut. The outside revealed little but a young boy looking similar to Ieyasu with scraggly blond messy hair but too short and young to be him. She could hear the sound of him playing a harmonica softly and he was definitely still learning but to be honest he was so bad he should have either thrown it away or given it to someone else.

[spoilername="Letter to Kitsune"]Miss Kitsune,
  • Well I had fun and I've been paid. I'll probably not be talking for a few days so you won't be hearing from me. Not that you'd want to or maybe you would. :) In any event do you like fireworks? Granted I've never seen them but I figure they're pretty from what people tell me, they're big in the sky and light up an area and put smiles on people's faces. A firework can never see the wonder of joy and the smiles they bring and neither can I. Sometimes I like to think I can hear their smiles but that's kind of silly. I think the people heard me. So did you hear me tonight? I was awesome wasn't I! All kidding aside though, did you really here me? The real me? Hope you had fun tonight, I did. I guess I'm the winner cus I got you to sing with me. Maybe we'll meet again sometime, here's to you seeing me first.
    -Ieyasu
[/spoilername]

Song sung.

[OoC: So who won? Kitsune was the better singer, performer, and leader to direct a band but Ieyasu thinks he won beacuase he got what he wanted.]

Kitsune had to admit that was an interesting mission to say the least, though she hopes not all her gigs turns out this way. Next time she is going to ask for the details before agreeing to a mission. As she opens the door to begin her walk home there was a boy there with a little for her. Kitsune takes the letter and pats the boy on the head. Eager to hug her pillow after a good night’s work she heads home without reading it. She’ll save it for the morning, if she remembers.
