Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Mouko Kuro came into the chamber with a rather extensive feeling of pain and tingling, symptoms of burning away his blood contract with Moukyo during his battle with the Cabal. He smiled and waved at the children that were gathering for training in the aftermath of terror and bombs. He noted that the children were here to train further and make new friends. It made his heart thrum with pride and happiness to see the youth come about in such a manner. "Good day everyone, I am Mouko Kuro and I will be your instructor for the next 3 weeks till your regular instructors recover from their injuries. I will teach you lessons in taijutsu, genjutsu, and ninjutsu. I will then train you in special exercises to promote physical fitness, and chakra growth. Last but not least we will use special techniques to try to discover if any of you have any special or hidden talents and train you in the use of your potential. Before we start, does anyone have any questions?"<i></i>

...There's a lot of people named Kuro in Sunagakure. And they all seem to be furry... Is that a coincidence? The instructor for this class introduced himself with a smile and a wave, putting the rest of the class at ease. Naoki was almost sure the rest of the class, herself included, smiled back, even though it was quite silent in the room and she couldn't sense anything inches past her own desk, and only when she tapped on it. He seems nice. Looks like it's going to be a nice class!

Seated somewhere in the first few rows of students, Naoki ran through any questions she might have. Let's see, taijutsu and ninjutsu I understand pretty well, since mom keeps rambling about her mastery over water or something and dad keeps telling me how he strangled a lion with his bare hands that one time, a long long time ago... So I should probably ask about how genjutsu work right? I think I have a general idea, but maybe I should try and get a full-on explanation just in case...

Raising her hand just high enough, she asked, "Instructor Mouko, could you explain what genjutsu are please?" If anyone else sniggered, she paid no mind. She honestly didn't know much about it after all, and there was no harm in asking things you didn't know...

That said, she would still be pretty embarrassed if anyone did laugh, and would rub the back of her neck, grinning sheepishly.

"Thank you boss." Aoi bowed to his boss and left for the academy. He wasn't supposed to be able to attend classes at the academy because of his work shifts but his boss pitied him and relegated him to closing shifts to enable him to attend his classes. The boss, a very burly man, looked at him like his own son, being a single man at his 40's, he almost adopted the boy. If not for his need for a bit of independence, he might've considered it too. The man was kind and considerate, though a slave driver. The boy grabbed his bag, filled with only a pencil and a notebook, not really knowing what he might encounter at the academy, and headed towards the academy. He would've ran but he didn't wanna end up smelly on his first day.

The boy was all smiles as he neared his classroom, remembering the friend he had made some days ago. He really liked that girl. She was very nice to him. Maybe they could really be friends. Maybe she would not be like everyone else who pitied him for his frail, and extremely pale looks. Anyway, he entered into the chamber and waved happily at his friend. It was a really nice day indeed.

"
Hi! Its nice to meet you again Naoki-san." he said as he jogged toward her. "Hope we would do well today."

Their instructor then started the introductions, with Aoi giving his full attention at the instructor. They were then asked for any questions and Naoki-san asked about genjutsu, making him think about what he would want to focus on, on what kind of ninja he would want to be.

"
Sensei, I still don't know what I would want to specialize in. Would it be bad if I don't specialize in anything at all?" The boy asked, a bit embarassed as his pink cheeks showed.

Mouko walked from around the podium and sat down crossing his legs before the few students that had made it in today. "Students, genjutsu is the study of techniques that alter the senses and mental capabilities of others."</COLOR><i></i> He turned to the second child and answered his question as well. "You don't have to specialize in anything, learning is it's own reward, learn some of everything so that you will be prepared for just about anything."<i></i> Mouko Kuro then stood and stretched in a flowing feline motion. <COLOR color="indigo">"What you will both come to understand is that almost anything is possible if you simply think it through. Now there are certainly significant differences in potential, elemental capacity, and even special abilities made possible by specialized training, genetic potential, or even mystic transmutation. There is so much that everyone is capable of if a person only allows their true potential to release itself. So young ones what do either of you want to learn first?"

In response to his earlier greeting, Naoki's head jerked up at the sound of a familiar voice. "Aoi-kun! Hi! Let's study well today." She gave him a thumbs up and smiled.

She heard some cloth rustling, and realised that the instructor was now seated, cross-legged on the floor. The position reminded Naoki of someone she met recently. Hmm... Is it a coincidence? Their first names are the same and everything... She thought of the vision she had in the dreamscape, specifically to the part where she saw six women, each looking quite strikingly similar to each other. Then again, since it was just a dream, she might not have seen them properly. She hadn't truly been able to see in what felt like a long time after all.

At the answer she was given, she felt she would've liked a more in-depth explanation. But well, I guess this is a class for everyone, not just me. I bet everyone at least knows what genjutsu are... I'll ask him later on! Some thought later on had her reconsidering this though, since he was bound to have other business after all. She nodded.

True potential huh... Dad harped on and on about that, how he had so much to learn at my age. I think he just wanted to brag about what he did after though. Naoki had been told many stories of his exploits, how he'd helped save a non-shinobi village from devastation, how he single-handedly took on five other opponents. Her mother couldn't confirm any of it since it was before she met him, but she herself did quite a bit of gloating, with her underground chambers made by carving into a cliffside and helping a neighbouring country sail their ships through tough passes. Naoki wouldn't have been surprised if they had some kind of secret pact to keep each other's exaggerations secret, their stories were always so farfetched. In the end, they never answered a lot of questions about shinobi techniques... Now that I think about it... Were they dodging...?

She was always quick to doubt. Taking a deep breath to clear her head, she put that bad feeling that her parents were hiding something from her away and focused on the instructor's words.

Naoki stayed quiet for the next one. It would be more considerate to let the students ask what they want to learn, since she was already a genin herself. She found herself intrigued at the mention of elemental capacity however.

"I will, Naoki-san." he replied then turned his attention towards their sensei for today.

Aoi scratched his head when the teacher asked them what they want to know first. He looked around him and saw Naoki-san, a person who wanted to know what genjutsu is. And then nothing. He, himself, don't really know a lot about ninjas and how they fight and how they are able to use various techniques. So maybe that is what he should just ask? It might be a bit embarrassing but it was the truth. Clearing his throat, he asked.

"I really don't know anything about ninjas except that they save people. I just want to know how do ninjas use jutsus to begin with? I am really new at this so I really need to know."

OOC: sorry for the crappy post. Time constraints.

OOC: my deepest apologies for the lack of posting on my part I will track this thread from now on.

Kuro placed a set of training weights on a rack as he felt his first visitor enter. He turned to the young man and smiled genuinely. Kuro stood at five feet, ten inches, weighing in at two hundred and eighty pounds. Kuro’s silver gray mane of hair had a reasonable amount of muscle mass to conceal. With a twenty one inch neck Kuro’s hair could not conceal very much even as it cascaded to the center of his upper back. Violet eyes with gold slits peered from a chocolate brow with large ebony horns growing from where a normal man’s temples would be. He wore a sand tone obi around his thirty six inch waist. The obi allowed Kuro to carry his honor blade in a specialized bone sheath. Kuro wore his battle pouch on a second sash just above his right hip. Adjacent his sacred blade Kuro wore a pair of collapsed fuuma shuriken, and last but not least Kuro wore his leg sheath on the interior of his hakama just atop his fighting gi shorts with his sheathed weapons and summon scrolls. A convenient cut in the silk cloth of his left hakama pants leg allowed Kuro full access to his ANBU gear without showing exactly where it was till he motioned to grab it. Securing his anbu arm guards and leggings Kuro covered the runic terran markings of his hand and leg wraps. Kuro’s tail swished back and forth its tiger stripes faintly surging with chakra. His black gi top concealed his overly muscular upper body.

"The answer to that question is chakra, for some they consider it magic, almost everyone in the village is born with a way to draw upon their inner energy. First is the technique you want to use and exactly how much focus and where you must focus the inner energy to achieve your goal. Genjutsu requires you to focus through a sensory organ, sight, sound, touch, sometimes smell. In these cases you focus your chakra upon eyes, ears, skin, bones, and your nose. Taijutsu requires the least amount of chakra and allows you to enhance your physical movement. Ninjutsu requires you to call upon elemental energies that may or may not be within your reserve to focus upon but almost any element can be learned. As you get stronger you will be able to draw upon more chakra as you build up more chakra you need to gain more inner chakra control. Last is unleashing your potential through either pure focus or handseals. All of these things you will learn the basics of in your classes. "

Kuro handed Aoi a student scroll so that he could use it to monitor and update all the lessons he taught him.
.
The questions on the scroll read:

"What do you want to learn?

What do you consider to be your greatest strength?

What is it that pushes you onward?

[Returned from RP inactivity due to relocation, sorry >_<"]

The instructor explained exactly how jutsus worked for Aoi and everyone else in the class, and Naoki listened carefully. She was told she should take notes back when her mother was lecturing her about sitting still to learn, but it wouldn't help her much as she wouldn't be able to review them anyway... Rather, no one would be able to read them aloud to her, only being able to rely on her sense of touch and the scritching of a pencil to write. What kind of chicken scratch would result from that sort of hit-and-miss writing?

I'll have to make sure I remember this then? Aah, if only there was some way to take sound notes or something...

She would have tried using her chakra, but she didn't have much of it to begin with, and she doubted she'd be able to keep it up until she needed to review them.

Okay, genjutsu was senses? It's every sense but taste... Probably because you wouldn't need to change tastes of things in the middle of a battle. And we need to focus on our bones too? Hmm... Naoki visualised herself trying to focus on bones, not knowing exactly where they are in her body. What if she accidentally caused one to jut out? She shivered a little, and shook the image out.

I know about taijutsu, and mom told me a lot about ninjutsu. I think I might need to try and learn all the handseals before I try to learn more jutsu... She couldn't see where the fingers went after all, and touching people's hands while they demonstrated would be pretty awkward. Then something Instructor Mouko said something about 'pure focus'. Waiting for him to finish before raising her hand, she asked, "Sir, by 'pure focus or handseals', do you mean there's a way to use jutsu without handseals?" She didn't register the scroll handed to Aoi, as it made no sound.

...That was the only thing 'potential' could mean right? Jutsus? ...I'm missing something. Naoki wondered if that was a good question or if she'd failed to understand something.
