Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It started out as a normal Wednesday, Sabaku had risen well before the early birds had managed to catch a single worm. Sabaku was on his way to one of his favorite diners to enjoy a nice start to his day, breakfast. He never needed anything complicated, just some eggs, ham, toast with a nice cold glass of OJ. Walking into the diner wearing some black slacks and a dark green button up shirt, Sabaku made his way towards an empty table. It was mostly scarce inside, a few other people enjoying some morning coffee. It wasn't long before the waitress strolled by asking the same old question.

The usual hun?

This typical middle aged lady was just like the rest, nice... normal... quiet... as most non-ninja citizens ought to be. Sabaku only came when she was working, in some strange way the repetitiveness brought some sort of comfort to Sabaku.

Yes ma'am, thank you very much Miss Aimi... While you're at it, why don't you pour me a cup of coffee to... I have a feeling it's going to be a long day today...

Without much of a second glance, Aimi flipped over an old brown mug and placed it on a white paper coaster. She fetched the pot of coffee from behind the counter and poured the steaming black liquid into his mug. With fresh coffee in hand and elbows on table, Sabaku stared out the window. It was nearly winter now, as there was frost attempting to buildup on the glass. Sometime later his food had arrived, Fried ham and sunny side up eggs, with some wheat toast, along with his orange juice of coarse. He was halfway through enjoying his meal when he heard an announcement over the diner's radio.

It seems he's at it again folks. Lock up your doors and windows folks. The Maruishi Killer has done it again. Our reports say it was a middle aged man of about 36 years. Killed in the safety of his own home. Take caution citizens! Be Smart, Be safe, this is your local stone news station reporter, Hyang Lee, Ill be looking more into these horrific scenes and will relay any info I get to the public!

Sabaku had heard rumors of such a killer around, he wondered when somebody would do something about it. And just as if his thoughts had willed it into existence, a black crow perched itself outside the window Sabaku was sitting at. Attached to his leg was a small paper scroll. He already had a feeling as to what it was about. So without finishing his meal he chugged the last of his coffee, choking down the bitter taste. Sabaku laid his bill plus tip on the table and headed outside. Lightly grasping the leg of the bird, he untied the scroll and unraveled it.

Report to headquarters immediately, in uniform ready to be dispatched.

Sabaku's face turned to a more serious tone, emphasizing the thoughts that welled up inside his head. He was sure it had something to do with these murders. Without a second delay, Sabaku crumpled and burnt the scroll in his hands using a weak fire jutsu and set off for home. Warping from building to building he arrived at his residence in record time. Throwing open his closet he pressed a small switch behind the frame of the door, revealing a secret door to the back of the closet. Inside laid his custom made white suit. Quickly dressing himself he made his way outside his home and set off for HQ.

Upon Sabaku's arrival at the Anbu Headquarters, he was greeted by a singular shrouded figure behind a desk. Sabaku didn't know the true identity of the individual, but only as "M". He had just assumed it stood for Mission or Mission giver or whatever. None of this was really what he needed to be thinking about in a situation such as this. Shaking his head clear of thoughts, Sabaku addressed "M".

What are my orders sir?

The delivery was always the same, a voiceless visage of a gloved hand sliding over a piece of parchment containing the mission details. Sabaku walked over the desk and retrieved his orders and begun to read. The note stated the obvious, a sequence of murders where the assailant would leave a distinguishable mark on the victims, with little to no trace of other evidence. Below the main body of text was coordinates to the most recent murder. It seemed Sabaku was to fully investigate this string of crime and apprehend the appropriate suspect. Sabaku left the note on the table, letting the shadowy hand pull it back into darkness. Sabaku had his orders, gather Intel and come up with a hypothesis as to the identity and location of said murderer.

After Receiving his orders, Sabaku gathered the few materials that he required and set off towards the scene of the crime. The weather was actually quite nice today, clear skies, birds chirping, warm and comforting. You wouldn't even think that a brutal murder had even taken place. They always depict these kinds of things on dark stormy nights, little does the public know that it happens more under their noses then they think. Sabaku walked at a brisk pace, as there wasn't a need to rush. The body had already been dead for a short while, a few more minutes of decomposing wouldn't hurt very much.
Coming upon the house that the scene was located in, Sabaku was greeted by a few reporters viscously scribbling in their notebooks. They, not unlike sharks to fresh blood, bombarded him with questions.

Sir! Is it true that all these recent crimes are somehow linked?

Can you give us the details of the murder?

Does the Anbu have any leads on a suspect so far?

Why do you suppose this happened?

The reporters quickly overwhelmed him. As a basic level Anbu member, he wasn't at liberty to divulge in pertinent information such as what they wanted. So he gave the usual redundant, broken record response he always had to give. It gave him no joy lying to the reporters, but he would rather that than getting his ass chewed by the Sennin...

As it stands at this time, myself and the Anbu have nothing to pass on at this time. I am only here on official business to investigate, please step aside.

In most cases, anyone would have stepped aside, seeing as it was official Anbu related business. But a few of the reporters continued to press on. Asking the same questions over again, or simply asking what the other had just asked. Sabaku didn't really have the time to bicker with these people... Deciding on the easier quicker path, Sabaku decided to use his innate ability and warp on past them. He didn't have far to go, just to the front steps of the building. The reporters looked around in confusion as the man in white suddenly disappeared. You would think they were used to such displays of power, they did live in Iwa after all.

Upon entering the house, Sabaku was confronted by a wall. The overwhelming smell of blood was in the air. The slightly rusty metallic smell was heavy in the air. Inside was basically a quarantine zone, markers everywhere, yellow tape... the works. It was almost as busy in here as it was outside. The coroner, a few medical ninja and some Anbu recruits were inside standing guard just inside. The scene inside could only be described as macabre. Blood literally almost covered the entirety of the common room. In the center lay the figure of a man buried deep within a wooden crater, as the floorboards had been concaved to form such a mark. Slightly disturbed by the depiction before him, Sabaku carefully stepped between the blood coated spots and stopped near one of the medical ninjas.

Well... this looks like... a mess....

The younger looking medical ninja looked up with a scowl, obviously not amused by his lack of seriousness. The med nin was probably around the age of 18-20 and she couldn't have stood more then 5 feet tall. Upon her slender frame was the typical white coat attire that most of the medical staff would have worn to such an event. She was busy taking notes at the time of Sabaku's jest and quickly put them to the side to give him a rundown of what they had gathered thus far.

How do I Put it in laymen's terms... He was crushed by an incredible amount of weight at an alarming rate. We still do not know how it was managed as nothing else in the house has been damaged said for this particular room, in this specific spot. It appears he was killed instantly by whatever impacted him.

Just then, one of the recruits chimed in.

Sir, we couldn't find any evidence of a break in or any foul play for that matter. The only thing that really stands out is the way he was killed and the mark that was left behind... It's the same as all the other murders, an H carved into his left hand... we still don't know what it means though.

It was true, the way he was killed was strange indeed, along with the absence of forced entry or any other distinguishable signs of foul play. No prints, no hair follicles... nothing... aside from the massive dent in the floor and supposed "call sign" of the so called serial killer. Up until now the local authorities had been taking care of the string of attacks, but the repeated, mysterious causes of death and the H raised suspicion in the higher ups and the Anbu had been called in to take over.

There wasn't much that could be done at the time, Sabaku ordered the cleanup of the house and to have it quarantined as a official crime scene. Perhaps a later clue would reveal something still inside the home. He also had the body commissioned to be fully examined by the lab to check for any strange abnormalities. This was going to be a hard case to crack with little to no leads. All he could do now is hope that somebody might have heard or seen something. With that heavy on his mind, Sabaku ventured outside to seek such an advocate.

While it took some time, mucking his way through fact and fiction statements given by bystanders along with people coming forward only to pose more questions to the related crime scene. Sabaku eventually got a few concrete statements from seemingly reliable sources that indicated that the house had been visited by an unknown individual. They couldn't give much of a description given the fact the man was cloaked. Always with the cloaks, why cant it ever be simple. Perhaps one day he might get that completely unique individual, blonde hair, pink eyes with a unicorn tattoo on his face... but then that would make to easy wouldn't it... With what little information he could gather in hand, Sabaku set off towards HQ to relay what little he could find. For now all they could do is wait and see what the lab brought back and possibly more witnesses would come forward. He would task some lower ranking trainees to put up flyers across town in hopes to discourage any further murders and also arise the suspicions of other villagers in hopes they will report any suspicious activity in the future.

To be continued...
